Stayed at The Regency Madurai and had a very pleasant experience overall. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful—from check-in to room service, breakfast, and check-out—which made the stay very comfortable.

The property itself feels a little dated, but it’s very well maintained. Both the hotel and the rooms were spotlessly clean. The pool looked especially inviting, though we didn’t get a chance to try it.

Location-wise, it’s convenient: just a short auto ride to the Meenakshi Temple and about a 30-minute drive to the airport.

The breakfast spread was extensive and tasty, and the dining area wasn’t crowded, which made for a relaxed start to the day.

Overall, a clean, comfortable hotel with excellent staff and good value for a stay in Madurai.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at GRT Regency, Madurai, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

The rooms were very clean, and the service throughout the hotel was exceptional. What stood out most was the warmth and friendliness of every single staff member — right from the security personnel and the car valet, to the reception team, the gym and spa staff, and the restaurant team. Everyone was genuinely customer-focused and made us feel completely at home.

A special mention must go to the breakfast buffet — easily one of the best we have experienced. It had an impressive spread covering everything you could want: healthy options, traditional South Indian breakfast, continental fare, and much more. A truly satisfying mix for every palate.

We would like to specially acknowledge Mr Tirupathi, Mr Bala, Mr Arul and Mr Vishnu from the restaurant team, who went above and beyond by accommodating customized menu requests. They even assured us that on our return visit two days later, they would prepare specific items to our taste. That kind of personalized attention is rare and deeply appreciated.

Overall, GRT Regency, Madurai delivers an experience that is warm, professional, and memorable. We will definitely be back to more properties of GRT.

Très bel endroit, vue sur la rivière, belle et grande piscine dans un jardin, personnel très accueillant, nous ont trouvé une solution à l'arrivée et une voiture pour notre trajet du lendemain matin, pour l'itinéraire souhaité, lits très confortables et petite terrasse très agréable . Service impeccable !

Rooms were spacious and comfortable.
Hotel offers a same day laundry service at the normal rate, and also a 3 hour express service for a surcharge. This makes it easy to manage clothes on an an extended travel itinerary.

Booking.com took so much money out of booking .. direct booking was 40 percent less . 3 star rated hotel just hyped

Amazing rooms with excellent beds. Squeaky clean bathrooms that are quite modern. Great restaurant for breakfast and dinner buffet especially for vegetarians. Quiet place with proximity to temple and a short drive to the railway station and the airport.

Let down, we opted for Dinner Buffet, all items were below warm that spoiled our experience. The choice of items on the buffet was also not very good. In the end, we had mostly rasam-rice and the rasam itself was cold, which had to be reheated.

Same experience even at breakfast, where the taste and spread were better than the dinner buffet, but the food was cold.

We had Pizza at room-service and even that was below average. :((

They have to focus really on the food to make it a lot better.

A good Hotel. Well maintained and clean. Staff are courteous. Room is spacious. Nice sumptuous buffet breakfast. Complementary coffee/tea with snacks is served from 1630 hrs to 1730 hrs.
