Fantastic Stay for Humans and Hounds!
Pros:

What incredible value for money! From the moment we arrived, the welcome from reception was warm and friendly. Our turret room was absolutely immense and full of character, making our stay feel really special.

We loved how well they catered for our dog too – genuinely one of the most dog-friendly places we've stayed. The food was fabulous, and breakfast was equally impressive.

The location couldn't be better, right in the heart of Tetbury High Street, making it perfect for exploring the town and surrounding area. Secure and free parking!

A fantastic weekend break for two (plus one very happy dog!). We will definitely be back.

Beautiful hotel in the Cotswolds
Pros:

We chose The Close Hotel for my birthday. All in all a lovely experience. Stunning historic building in the middle of Tetbury. The hotel is beautifully and tastefully furnished. All the rooms are named after birds. We had asked for a specific room prior to our arrival and were very happy to get exactly that room. We loved our room - spacious, great colour scheme, clean and equipped with a large and comfy bed and a sitting area. Large and nice bathroom. Both our room and bathroom overlooked the pretty garden with a wonderful big white Magnolia in full bloom. Nice coffee and tea facilities in the room. As a nice extra touch there was a birthday card and a little cake from the hotel.
Staff were mostly helpful and attentive.
The Blue Zucchini is a lovely little Café / Bistro around the corner with very friendly staff.

Cons:

The car park behind the hotel is almost always full especially in the evenings which creates a bit of a problem as finding parking outside of it isn't easy in Tetbury.
The young lady in charge of breakfast on the morning of the birthday wasn't particularly friendly and incompetent which spoiled the overall good impression. There was no clean table available in the morning and even though we had asked for a specific table the night before - that table wasn't free, it hadn't been cleaned. When the table was finally set up it still missed napkins, jams and toast. Breakfast the next morning was much better.

Lovely place we would come back to, but having spent £500+ for 1 night needs better service
Pros:

Dinner was good. Lovely garden at the back
Room was spacious and well presented
Hotel is central and has parking which was valuable in Tetbury

Cons:

We were brought a warm bottle of blush wine. When we asked to exchange it the bottle was taken away for chilling. No further drink was brought. When a new chilled bottle appeared 25 minutes later (that we had been told they didn't have..), 2 wine glasses worth were poured away as " we had had them". We actually hadn't had them - they too had been taken away...

Lovely hotel with good rooms and terrace.
Pros:

Beautiful room, particularly the bathroom. Lovely terrace and lots of character.

Cons:

Service was decidedly "quirky" with not always being greeted immediately, confusion over desserts, delays for coffee in the morning, not being asked if we wanted toast, table not completely set and so on. Also the breakfast bar was not very extensive, with nice pastries but no fresh bread and little cold food (cheese, etc.).
