Sprookjesachtige lokatie met scheve prijs kwaliteit verhouding.
Pros:

Het uitzicht vanaf het balkon. De grootte van de kamer. De mooie authentieke elementen in het oude gedeelte van het hotel, waar onze hotelkamer gelegen was. En de heerlijk rustige omgeving midden in de tijd.

Cons:

Ontbijt niet van het niveau van hotels uit zelfde prijsklasse. Broodjes niet vers afgebakken. Geen exotisch fruit, slechte koffie. En bediening hoewel heel aardig, erg vergeetachtig. Hard, echt hard matras. Geen gratis koffie op de kamer. En geen mogelijkheid om thee te zetten. Ontbijt medewerkers moesten heel hard werken want zij moesten ook de receptie werkzaamheden tussendoor doen.
Het was allemaal geen ramp maar voor bijna 200 euro per nacht zijn dit de details die er toe doen.

Pros:

Das Zimmer war sehr schön und der Blick auf Funchal einfach großartig!
Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Tolle Lage: Fußweg bis zum Mercado dos Lavradores oder Hafen ca. 10 bis 15 min.
Wir sind begeistert!

Cons:

Dusche war undicht.
Frühstücksangebot war grundsätzlich gut, aber nicht sehr vielfältig.

Our room had a balcony and an amazing view of the city and sea. The hotel is situated 10 mins walk from town and is situated in a quiet residential area.

Wer Ruhe sucht ist hier richtig.
Pros:

Wie gewünscht die Ruhe und Privatsphäre. In den ersten zwei Januar Wochen wird das Hotel renoviert .

Cons:

Das Frühstück könnte mehr Variation vertragen . Lokaler Honig etc wäre toll und würde den Stil des haupthauses widerspiegeln. Die Matratze war mir viel zu hart. Optional als Angebot ein topper wäre toll

Öffentliche Terrasse für 500 Euro pro Nacht gemietet. Nepp.

Netter Altbau. Schöner Garten.

Cons:

Superior Zimmer mit Terrasse inkl. Frühstück gebucht über Silvester für ca. 500 Euro pro Nacht (2 Pers.)
Die große Terrasse ist jedoch öffentlich. Öffnest Du die Balkontüren, dann sitzen dort ggf. fremde Gäste und frühstücken und schauen in Dein 3m entferntes Bett. Silvester dann mit 20 Gästen auf "unserer" gebuchten und bezahlten Terrasse. Mobiliar und Ausstattung alt und schäbig. Feuchteschäden an Wänden. Küche und Bad alt. Ungeziefer im Bad. Frühstück: aufgebackene Pappbrötchen. Marmelade und Butter in Plastik. Billig Wurst und Käse je eine Scheibe. Die Lage ist ok. Ca. 1 km Steilhang runter zur City. Rauf erfordert Fitness. Parkhaus kann gebucht werden (8 Euro/Tag) und ist sehr eng und nur für Polo-Größe geeignet. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis völlig inakzeptabel. Personal ist wenig ambitioniert. Es soll wohl irgendwann mal renoviert werden. Das war ein Flop. Keine Empfehlung.

Mit kleinen Einschränkungen sehr empfehlenswert !
Pros:

Sehr schöne Gartenanlage mit historischem Haus. Tolle Terrasse für Frühstück, Drinks und Sylvester Feuerwerk ! Sehr freundliche, hilfsbereite Leute ! Das Zimmer war groß genug, wir hatten auch eine Küche dabei - ist aber nicht bei allen so.
Gute Garage für den Mietwagen und Lift. Es gibt im Zimmer eine Minibar und ganz toll, eine "Honesty Bar" wo man Wein glasweise und Drinks gegen Bezahlung selbst nehmen kann.

Cons:

Die Zimmer, bzw. das Gebäude benötigt ein wenig Renovierung. Bei uns hat es beim Fenster reingeregnet. Innen sehr viel schönes Holz, tlw. wären Reparaturen sinnvoll. Das servierte Frühstück ist nett aber sehr eintönig. Wir bekamen 7 Tage lang jeden Tag das Gleiche, nur der Kuchen variierte. Über Sylvester/Neujahr war der Preis ziemlich hoch.

Pros:

Beautiful discreet location, very quiet, clean and the staff were lovely. Quiet area a little out of the way but close to walk into all areas of the city or taxi in for a few euros. The breakfast and staff were all lovely. Lights in the garden at Christmas time were really nice.
