While Velvet Hotel does it's best to minimize noise disruption, due to it's location in Manchester’s Gay Village, some external noise is unavoidable during busier periods (including Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings). The hotel reception can provide ear plugs on request.
Village Brasserie is currently closed for refurbishment works. The hotel reception can provide alternative restaurant recommendations. Velvet Bar remains open for drinks only.

Friendly comfortable and central. Great large bed and pillows. Blackout curtains excellent. Spotless shower room. I expressly asked for an easy access shower which the sorted with great ease.
The £10 continental breakfast was good value for money and delivered to the room. Great coffee machine.
Entry into the hotel does seem very easy, often no staff seen in the reception area.
The space between the end of the bed and wall was extremely tight.

Very fun hotel right on canal street. Our balcony room overlooked the canal so you can watch all the revelers from on high (like the vampires from Twilight). Staff were friendly and helpful and gave my partner a warm birthday welcome. Room was very well appointed. The sound proofing on the balcony windows was surprisingly good though I'd definitely recommend earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Bed was large and comfortable
Slightly stingy in only giving you two coffee pods every room reset, which is the most minor complaint ever!
The location is perfect for gay travelers. It's in the heart of the gay village in Manchester. It's close to the Picadilly station, which is about 5 mins walk from the hotel.
We opted in for the breakfast option and we're satisfied with the room service and the food.
Thanks to the staff for upgrading our room for free and free prosecco during the check in. We could open the window for fresh air and the air conditioning is controllable and we're comfortable in the room in summer.
The noise. Well, it's close to the pubs and bars. It's not a problem for us but for other travelers, please be aware of this.
Room 101 on the first floor has a window which faces the Canal St. We have to close the curtains for privacy as the people/passer-by from the outside can clearly see what's going on in the room. If you want better privacy, please ask the staff for a different room.
From the moment we walked through the door the staff were wonderful, polite, courteous and offering us a welcome drink, which was brought to our room, the room l and bathroom were v nice and location was excellent.I certainly will be returning ,Thank you for the great stay.
I really liked the hotel’s unique and stylish design. The location was very convenient, making it easy to explore the city, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. Overall, I had a pleasant experience.
The hotel describes itself as a luxury property, so I expected a higher standard of cleanliness. Unfortunately, there was noticeable dust in my room. I stayed in an attic room with skylight windows, and when I opened the blinds, it was obvious that the windows hadn’t been cleaned for quite some time. This was disappointing and not what I would expect from a hotel in this category.
