The location is perfect for gay travelers. It's in the heart of the gay village in Manchester. It's close to the Picadilly station, which is about 5 mins walk from the hotel.
We opted in for the breakfast option and we're satisfied with the room service and the food.
Thanks to the staff for upgrading our room for free and free prosecco during the check in. We could open the window for fresh air and the air conditioning is controllable and we're comfortable in the room in summer.
The noise. Well, it's close to the pubs and bars. It's not a problem for us but for other travelers, please be aware of this.
Room 101 on the first floor has a window which faces the Canal St. We have to close the curtains for privacy as the people/passer-by from the outside can clearly see what's going on in the room. If you want better privacy, please ask the staff for a different room.
I really liked the hotel’s unique and stylish design. The location was very convenient, making it easy to explore the city, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. Overall, I had a pleasant experience.
The hotel describes itself as a luxury property, so I expected a higher standard of cleanliness. Unfortunately, there was noticeable dust in my room. I stayed in an attic room with skylight windows, and when I opened the blinds, it was obvious that the windows hadn’t been cleaned for quite some time. This was disappointing and not what I would expect from a hotel in this category.
From the moment we walked through the door the staff were wonderful, polite, courteous and offering us a welcome drink, which was brought to our room, the room l and bathroom were v nice and location was excellent.I certainly will be returning ,Thank you for the great stay.
The location was great for me for my work commitments.
The only thing I can say was that the elevator smelt funny but that's about it
Design
Breakfast and location.
It's too expensive to be average hotel.
Excellently done
Nothing
Everything was amazing
The location
Decor, the bed, no bad points...
The location was excellent. The rooms were clean and the staff were overall friendly.
The property doesn’t serve hot food!! It’s no restaurant open, no bar food, no cooked breakfast. How can it be called an hotel if it can’t feed its guests. We had to go out and find breakfast despite paying for it.
This was also the worst nights sleep I’ve ever had, we had to move rooms at 2am due to loud music coming from the bar next door, which didn’t stop until 4am. I would never recommend or stay there again.
Nothing.
Staff, manager not present. Junior staff at desk.
Bed was squeaky.
Did not stay at hotel, had to book another hotel.
They did not refund.
The worst hotel. Avoid
I stay here several times.a year and it's always really great.
I've stayed at the Velvet Hotel several times as I love the atmosphere and the location. Staff are always lovely and very helpful, and the decor of the hotel is generally lovely.
The room I had this time wasn't as good as the ones I've had previously. In terms of cleanliness, it was a bit shabby, which is sad as the other rooms I've had were amazing. I also felt the bed wasn't as comfortable, and I only got 1 tea bag which seeing as I was there for two nights, wasn't enough.
Location, Staff, Price.
No phone in room. No room service any longer. Suites are painted too dark with odd lighting set up. Paint the rooms a lighter colour so guests can see. No loo brush in toilet.
