For a night on the road, the hotel is well back from the Interstate and pretty much the rest of business area, shops etc

Great location
Pros:

Great location is going to see a college football game. Lots of restaurants close and some even in walking distance Rooms very clean, good amenities. Breakfast very good. Quite. Bedding comfortable

Big miss for me
Pros:

I’m a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member and booked a 1-bedroom, 2-queen suite over six weeks in advance (Feb 11 for a March 28 stay), so I came in with reasonable expectations.

Check-in was polite, but that’s about where the positives end.

- No acknowledgment of elite benefits beyond the basics — no welcome offering, snacks, or even a mention of options
- Assigned a first-floor room despite my profile preference for upper floors
- Told the hotel was completely sold out and no changes were possible

The bigger issue: the room itself.

- We were placed in an accessible room with a roll-in shower (not requested)
- The bathroom was visibly dirty
- Hallways had a strong odor of cigarette smoke mixed with mildew/mold

We immediately left the room and returned to the front desk. The associate was kind but essentially confirmed there was nothing she could do. She did call another property for us, which I appreciated — but at that point, we had no choice but to leave.

This stay missed on fundamentals: cleanliness, room assignment, and basic elite recognition. I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect a clean, properly assigned room — especially with advance booking and status.

It's got everything you need and nothing that you don't
Pros:

Great place to stay. Staff and housekeeping is attentive to you needs and friendly. Pretty much all of the amenities anyone would need on the road, and the location is close to any additional needs you may have.

Rooms need an update - dated
Pros:

The hotel was fine. Not sure why it is #1 ranked as the rooms seem dated. Sure the rooms are large and staff friendly, but needs a guest room update badly.
