DO NOT STAY HERE
literally charges for parking as does the Hampton next door as well. Charged me $5 a day in Troy, Alabama. Parking lot is full of potholes. Has not been paved in years. No onsite security. Lighting isn’t great. And front desk will not even consider helping Marriot member. I expect to pay parking in metropolitan areas and larger cities but it isn’t even football season and obviously no events going on in Troy, AL. Doesn’t bode well Marriott. Lost my business and will also forbid my team from staying throughout the year due to shady parking fees. Not cool
Very clean… staff very friendly
Have no complaints
Worst experience ever. Staff was awful. Tried to be open to things but they literally just ignored us and would not even talk to us. They acted like toddlers! Disgusting and insulting!
Main lobby looked clean and nice
No breakfast, room wasn’t the cleanest there where hair on Tiolet, sink and a couple in the bed.
Good location clean. Spacious room
Room was next to stairwell. Guests running up and down -noisy. No complimentary breakfast
The staff was friendly and eventually helpfully
1st room A/C didn't work and room was musty. We ended up switching rooms and the water in the 2nd room wont get "hot" it was warm enough to take a shower but never got hot
Location and staff were great.
Overall everything seemed clean but the bathroom. Hair in the sink. Towels were clean but old.
The castle itself is great. It feels very special to stay there. The views are beautiful. We stayed in the donjon suite and that was extra special, with its glass ceiling, giving a nice view of the 2 upper levels of the tower.
The restaurant was also pretty good, especially for the price.Nothing
While the staff were all friendly and nice, the service they provided didn't match our expectations for this kind of place. The service was ok, but didn't match the level of professionalism I've seen in other hotels graded similarly, or even of what we remember from our previous stay there. For instance, I had to bring my luggage up the very narrow stairs. Or no explanations were given on the room's (charming) quirks (position of the light switches, usage of the old-style bathroom, what to close to avoid too much sun light in the morning, etc...). The restaurant dinner and breakfast had also lost in quality of both service and taste.Everything
Great location, affordable, clean with a friendly staff.
Location was good. Staff was helpful.
No continental breakfest and my bathtub had hair in it
Don’t bother planning to have coffee or breakfast or really anything from their cafe. They don’t have it. And I guess they don’t care. I was told at check in , we only have soy milk. So they set out some very weak “Starbucks” brewed coffee and you have nothing to put in it. You can’t buy the stuff on the menu in the “bistro” because they don’t have that stocked either. I don’t mind buying my own things over a “free breakfast” but they have nothing here to even buy. So we have to drive to get our coffee now. This hotel could be a great spot but has poor management. My room was clean! So somebody is doing there job here. Atmosphere would be great if they used their bar/bistro but they don’t. Won’t be coming here on my next Troy visit! Word is to stay at the home2suites across the street.
AC worked well, location was perfect for my business at Troy University
Ice maker on my floor was broken, towels were threadbare, would have preferred a free continental breakfast
