Convenient, clean. Get accessibility for walking around the old town
Staff very nice and helpful. I arrived before check in time and the heck in area is pretty small. The room i was given was nice but the bathroom was very, very small. I am not big (1.80) and could hardly move. It is really too small. As I said the room was nice but no water, not even a glass. Electric plugs are few and not well placed.
Enjoyed my stay definitely go back again thanks Payal
Clean bright room, with everything I needed. Downside, my room looked over restaurant patio and staff were out there making noise at midnight. I was beat after a long flight and just wanted peace and quiet. Breakfast was expensive too. Should’ve ordered off the menu instead of nibbling the buffet.
Location was great.
My family (spouse and two young adult daughters) had a wonderful two night stay in a family room (a suite of two bedrooms and one bathroom--though the bathroom was accessible only through one of the bedrooms). The rooms were all white and very peaceful. The bar was lovely with a great range of meal options, including affordable sandwiches). Though only caveat was a lack of air conditioning, though each bedroom had a large fan and large operable windows.
Pleasant room with natural light and lovely view
Amazing. Only negative was hauling some luggage up a flight of stairs. Sarah was wonderful
Lovely place with interesting design and a real boutique hotel feel!
Great location. Excellent staff. Large and comfortable room.
Wonderful hotel on the edge of the old town, walkable from the station with light luggage. Very happy with the choice, reasonable price, very comfortable , quiet room with good wifi, free water and coffee. I did nt have the breakfast nor need parking.
Would definitely consider staying here again
We were at this hotel for one night. I picked it before I realized it was going to be hot in Basel as the hotel was not air-conditioned. We took a cab to the hotel from the port where we docked off an AMA cruise ship. Cab fare was 30 francs for a short trip — my first experience with the cost of living in Switzerland. The hotel room was fine. Good water pressure in the shower and strong WiFi. Because it was raining out, we opted to eat at the hotel’s restaurant (after consuming the free drink that they offered outside in the bar area). The restaurant offered fine dining. Prices were high as is everything in Switzerland. I had the cheese ravioli, and although I paid more for it than I like, it was heavenly. Just delicious. We had couple glasses of wine, with what must be their standard 3 oz pour. Very inadequate, but probably standard there. When we walked in the room I knew we were in trouble. At that point, I didn’t realize that the hotel was not air-conditioned, but when I saw the fan in the room, I knew. A high point of our visit was the breakfast, at 25 francs each. It was very good. The buffet included rolls, yogurt, cheeses, meat, etc etc.
It was nice that there is a reserved parking space for a small fee. Walkable area with plenty of shops and restaurants. Our room was updated and renovated. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Beautiful property and staff. Lovely restaurant. We stayed in loft which was nice but bathroom was super cramped and the walls were clearly mid touch up prior to repainting which was disappointing.
We booked Der Teufelhof at what seemed like a premium rate and instead were put across the street at Set which is VERY basic. Upon showering after check-in my husband emerged from the bathroom to find the entire room flooded and some of our possessions wet. Staff was nice enough and the location is good but this was not the property or experience we thought we were getting, especially for the price.
Wonderful experience. Kind staff, clean room, great location, enough breeze from the open windows… we were very comfortable during our stay!
This is supposed to be an Art and Design & Lifestyle, Business and Unique hotel, however the lift only stops in certain floors so I had to climb a stairway and carry my luggage to my room. My room # 27 does not have air condition only an oscilating pedestal fan when temperature was +35oC so I tried opening the windows to let some air in, unfortunately every night there was a noisy supper meeting. So my stay was a total disaster!!!
We stayed three nights in a junior suite, room 38. Elevator to third floor, then about 12 stairs. The living room is in an attic space with sharply sloped walls/roof. Sofa, two chairs, two fans. Quite hot - we kept the blinds shut. Comfortable bed, plenty of hanging space for clothes. Breakfast was well done, with eggs cooked to order, as well as breads, cheeses, meats, cereal etc. Unfortunately our room had a lot of early morning noise: we overlooked the restaurant terrace and road, so the sound of garbage collection, deliveries, etc woke us every morning early, no later than 6:30am.
It's a nicely designed hotel. The historic building is equipped with modern furniture and bathrooms. I like the atmosphere that connects the lobby, breakfast dining room, and the courtyards. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is walking distance to many attractions. There are many small places to eat. I chose the teufelhof from its picture but discovered we were put in the ultra modern building across the street. It was great but i wish i knew that ahead of time.
Bathtub very high and without tub mat
No a/c when 33c. No elevator. Great location and visualy atractive.
