In all honesty, if you're looking for a quiet, serene and resplendent atmosphere in bustling Colaba, come to this place.
The hotel is cleaned. Services limited, breakfast at next hôtel and very limited. The room are ok, old style , dark, , need to be repaint.
Wanted to hold passports. Small ant problem in bathroom, Paper thin walls, head of bed right beside neighbours bathroom. Looks like it used to be a very nice hotel. Hallway walls and ceilings are full of holes.
The hotel is excellent. The rooms are large. Staff is very good. Hotel Manager Mr Rajesh and Mr Girish Rane, Mr Singh @ reception are excellent people, very co operative and understanding. Every greet is returned with a smile.
Breakfast is at next door hotel, which is awesome.
Highly recommended please.
Good location staff friendly
Staff friendly and convenient
The rooms were clean and fairly spacious, and it's located less than 20 minutes' walk from several major Mumbai attractions. In addition the staff were very helpful, arranging for (among other things) us to change to local SIM cards while we were there. Breakfast was fine, though not brilliant, and the price was pretty reasonsble.
This hotel ran my credit card three times telling me my credit card didn’t work. Then they sent me next door to the Goodwin who then proceed to do the same but changing one number up .Ran it again a bunch of times they are a bunch of thieves! Be aware I had to file fraud through my credit card company.
The hotel needs a proper cleaning, the bathroom & walls are stained, toilet seat is terrible, no shower door so the entire bathroom gets wet. It is in a good location if they only can clean it, it will be good. & we booked a suite & the reception guy said it there best room … wonder why a normal room would be like
This is a small boutique hotel in south Mumbai; overall, the hotel is old and cries for renovation, with the electricity regularly going out for periods. Nonetheless, the staff was accommodating, polite, and very friendly. Breakfast was hosted at the next-door hotel on a lower floor, with the rooftop bar also located next door. The Wi-Fi was almost nonexistent throughout the hotel even after the router (which was inside our room) was rewired by the handyman. The area is nice, quiet and quite safe, only a short walk to the Gates of India area and the sidewalk markets. Overall good for a few nights for travelers on a budget.
Tres propre avec un personnel adorable mais un peu excentré par rapport au centre historique
Piscine agreable
Stayed here with my family for 2 days when we visited south Mumbai.
Rate: 5k per night.
Pros:
Staying here made me appreciate:
1. How grateful I am to be still alive
2. How valuable the services that each service provider has done for us in the past stays at various locations and properties were.
Cons: I can list n number of this
1. Rude attitude of the receptionist
(Promised us that we would be given an early check-in before booking, and when we reached Mumbai from Cochin he said they couldn’t; took 30 mins to give access to wifi- had to call twice and wait and then later he said ‘Ma’am I’m in the middle of a work as I have to create an Id separately for the room, it will take time’ and finally at least gave the access to the common wifi there)
2. Tedious check-in process
3. Took around 45 minutes to 1 hour to get an iron box when we requested for one.
4. On the second day of our stay, we literally had a ‘blast’! The AC caught fire! See images!! We went to explore the city at around 9:30 am after having breakfast and came back at 11:45 pm to this view!!!
After the incident:
1. They did not even *apologise* and above that, 3 of their receptionists tried to put the BLAME ON US. Asked us :
-why did you not give the room keys at the reception while going out? (They had not even mentioned any such thing when we checked in)
-Why did you not turn off the AC? (In reality, in hotels the power would go off when you pull off the key/card from the wall slot and lock the room. NB: they also did not mention that in their hotel ac didn’t go off when we checked in)
- Accused us that the AC was in super low temp(in reality it was 25 degrees) and the TV was on (in reality: was off, it was in standby mode)
2. Some of the staff were at least considerate to us after the incident happened; they cleaned 2 of our bags which were covered up with black ash.
3. They made another room ready by the time we reached back to the hotel that night.
4. We had to clean all our stuff for the next 3 hours: electronics including laptop and other valuables, had to dump a few clothes, socks, accessories and other personal belongings as they cannot be restored. Had to pack all the other belongings which were covered in black ash back home.
Left Mumbai with a heavy heart- but still, Super grateful that the incident did not happen later that night when we were sleeping.
I hope nobody goes through such an experience. Anywhere !
A Very good hotel but can be better. There is scope for improvement. The highlight of my stay was courteous Mr Singh who is managing the hotel. He is very pleasant in nature and made my day. A very jolly person. He has made our stay memorable. The rooms were clean but the mattress was a little smelly smelling of moss. The washroom for senior citizens is difficult to use as you have to climb into a tub to have a bath. There was no creamer in the room to have your tea or coffee and the intercom was not working. Rest was all fine
We stayed at Hotel Garden at the end of our tour of India. It is about 1 hour away from the international airport. The hotel is located in a great area and is near shopping areas and restaurants. The Gateway to India is also walking distance. The hotel itself is very simple but the rooms are neat and beds are very comfortable. We had some issues with the bathroom as the toilet was clogged and the hot water was limited. The morning breakfast is served at the neighboring hotel and is very simple. Overall, a very basic hotel which is balanced out by easy access to shops/restaurants.
The staff were constantly after tips. When we checked into the room about five staff came into the room with two suitcases all expecting a tip. Worse still, when we were leaving they were physically obstructing us from getting into a cab demanding tips. We did tip at times while we were there
The hotel is located at prime area of colaba. The hotel has large and well maintained rooms. Staff is very courteous and decent. At reception desk Mr. Rajesh and Mr. Girish are very helpful and cooperative. Breakfast is arranged at next hotel and is awesome with lot of variety.
Highly recommended.
Regards.
Nagesh kumar and family.
I recently stayed at this property during a business trip to Mumbai. Its located close to Gateway of India in a congested lane. The property looks little old. The room is OK kind of.
If one has some work or sightseeing in South Mumbai, then its a recommended place. There is no parking - absolutely no parking. The lane in which this property is located is narrow and vehicles are parked on both sides of this lane.
The buffet breakfast is arranged in the next door another hotel restaurant on the ground floor. One needs to step out of this hotel for the breakfast. The food for the room service is arranged from the adjoining hotel restaurant.
The staff is courteous.
I have stayed at many, many hotels during my life but this one is the very worst of all of them, by some considerable margin. Check-in was laborious, we were then shown to our room by a member of staff using a lift that was very slow to arrive, having to avoid a number of trip hazards along the way. When we got to out room there was another member of staff fiddling with the TV an then the porters arrived with our suitcases. Before we knew it there were four people hovering around for a tip! Outrageous. When we looked around the room we discovered that it was filthy (see the photos). The sofas, sheets, light switches, hairdryer, taps...the list goes on. We checked out immediately and when we we were asked why the front desk asked us to show them the evidence. How could they not know?! They offered us a new room or an alternative hotel but if they believe those standards are acceptable why would we? We were happy to escape. An absolute disgrace, particularly how much they were charging. Booked through lastminute.com, they have given us a full refund without question. I hope they recover it from the hotel. Whoever's running it doesn't deserve to be in business.
Hotel Garden is the most horrible place I've had to step foot in when it comes to hotels. The staff were rude, the rooms unclean and the toilets do not function properly. The pillows on the bed were so old that they were not just yellowing, they were brown and orange! The bedsheets had moth and there were ants crawling right in front of our eyes. There is an AC in the room, but it stank of mold. Everything from the floor to headboards were covered in dirt. We could hear people from next door or above flush their toilets. It was so noisy, with the added noise courtesy the chatty staff outside our room. The bathrooms are so outdated, that even the flush wont work properly. Shower curtains were dirty and yellow that we daren't touch it. We requested for a different room, but was denied. Since it was a non-refundable booking we couldn't claim it back. At INR 3000/night, the room wasn't that cheap either. We were disappointed and infact a bit scared because it was just me and my mom, so we left the place without staying overnight. Surprised that such a horrible excuse of a hotel is situated right next to Gateway of India
Love to stay in this hotel , the only concern is of a front staff who is very bad in fact a lier , rest all very good It’s better for management to change him to keep the name high , property is good , location excellent
