The Charleston Place

Everything was perfect. We loved the new roof top pool and our room. was perfect.

We just returned home from a most wonderful stay at the beautifully renovated Charleston Place Hotel. We loved it before, but this stay was next level! The service was impeccable from the time we arrived, until we checked out. Each staff member on every team we encountered was first class, from valet, to front desk, to housekeeping, rooftop pool, concierge, and the list goes on. We booked our stay through AmEx FHR, and were fortunate to get an upgrade to the new Club Level. We will definitely be booking that type of accommodation on our next visit, as we were thoroughly spoiled by the wonderful amenities and excellent service there, and the room itself was so well appointed.
I can't leave this review without giving a special shout out to Amazing Alonzo from Housekeeping. Prior to arrival, we had requested a Keurig coffee maker for our room. Although the rooms now feature very nice Nespresso machines, Alonzo was kind enough to bring us his personal Keurig from his office to use the days we were there! That's just a single example of all the amazing service we experienced. Thank you all for a wonderful end of summer trip!

We had a great time at the Charleston Place. Room service is always a must for us the night we get in and the entire hotel service was great. One of our favorite places to stay in town and close to everything. Thanks for a great weekend.

I stayed there with my wife and daughter (18 months) and of the 10 FHR and THC of which I've stayed, this was #1. Its extremely well laid out, detail oriented, and highly trained attentive staff. Below are the top reasons why this hotel was #1 for my family and me.

1) Luxury without the pretentious. John at the front desk was outstanding and the staff is very well trained, approachable, easy to talk to, and responsive to needs of guests. The concierge was energetic and gave us lots of maps and recommendations which we utilized to see the majoroty of Charleston attractions. Other FHR/THC have an aire of pretentiousness because you're paying top dollar. Here was southern hospitality with top class class service. We needed to use a freezer to freeze the cold pack for my daughter's milk and keep her milk cold, they promptly assisted us by bringing a mini fridge to our room! Also the guest services also arranged a VIP van to take us to the port for the Fort Sumter ferry during a hot day.

2) No wait for the elevators more than 10 seconds. This made going to/from room, lobby, breakfast, fitness center very quick. The elevators were also spacious and clean.

3) Well thought out. The hangers in the room are ceder and the closets smell like cederwood which makes the robes smell nice. My wife also said the iron was the best iron she's ever used because of how quickly it heats up and removes wrinkles.

4) The in room coffee machines make delicious coffee and theyre generous with both the amount of coffee they give you.

5) Lots of complimentary water in beautiful bottles you can reuse/refill. We took them to Fort Sumter and they metal bottles helps keep water cold as well as doubles as an ice pack for keeping milk cold.

The coffee was excellent and service as well; Alexey(manager) gave me different options of coffee and ended up giving me a new orange foam flavored coffee. Recommend the coffee and service! :)

A truly stunning hotel located right in the historic heart of downtown Charleston. It complements the peaceful and charming vibe of the city so perfectly.

I especially want to highlight the hotel's coffee shop. The coffee is rich and aromatic, the pastries are fresh, and the friendly, polite barista Alexey completely made my morning.

Had a great stay at The Charleston Place with my wife. The hotel was beautiful, the service was excellent, and we had a great experience overall.

Special shoutout to Alexey at the coffee cart. He made an amazing cappuccino, so good that I ended up going back multiple times for another. Service was always quick and friendly, and the coffee was genuinely one of the highlights of our stay. Alexey did an awesome job!

My stay at the Charleston Place hotel was absolutely amazing! The accommodations were beautiful and the club level amenities made the experience even more enjoyable. A special thank you to Rita the bartender on the club floor who was truly exceptional. She was friendly, attentive and made every visit feel special with her outstanding service and warm personality. She is a true asset to the hotel. I can't wait to return!

Coffee was great, coconut syrup was delicious and pastries were fresh and also super tasty. Alexey was so kind and made sure we had everything we needed.

Where do I start? We came for an overnight yesterday to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary and couldn’t be happier that we chose The Charleston Place Hotel. We were pleasantly greeted at the front desk by Alessandro who was able to honor our request for an early check-in and greeted us with a glass of champagne for our anniversary. He kindly and professionally answered all questions and gave us a brief tour of the lobby area. After settling our things in our recently renovated, and beautifully appointed room, we headed to the newly renovated pool area. By the way, on our way to our room we passed several staff members who were friendly and asked if we needed help finding our room. We were greeted at the pool by this charming lady(unfortunately I don’t remember her name) who got us settled on lounge chairs after giving us a tour and asking where we’d feel most comfortable. Then we were immediately given ice water and cooling towels by a pool staff member. The pool manager, Daniel checked on us and let us know that our daughters had arranged from some drinks and food for us. He was friendly and fun to talk with. He checked on us a few times during our time there. At the bar Justin and Christine took care of us and were fun and friendly to speak with as we enjoyed what our girls arranged for us. They were attentive to everyone at the bar. Upon returning to our room we were surprised with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, compliments of the hotel. To say we felt pampered is an understatement. When we left for dinner we were told by the front desk that we could use their complimentary car service by another wonderful front desk member-Eric. The driver was Greg and he also gave us his number to call when we were done with dinner. He was charming and fun to talk with. When we got back we had a nice conversation with Eric. He seemed truly interested in how our dinner and stay has been and we were surprised to see that Alessandro was still there. The two of them are an asset to arriving guests. Finally, we returned to our room where whoever was on last night did a turn down service that was so nice. We highly recommend The Charleston Place Hotel. The service is impeccable and we thank those we had contact with for making our anniversary so special.

A superb luxury hotel! The location , rooms and amenities exceeded our expectations. The valet service, bellman (Roosevelt), room service (Santos), Palmetto Cafe (Patrick, Logan, Angel), room cleaning, The Thoroughbred Club, the pop up restaurant staff services were fantastic and provided a top notch customer experience. The food was excellent at the cafe, bar and restaurant. Even the staff at the stores located on the property were excellent especially Kelly from the Ike Behar where my husband bought a few items during our stay. We will definitely be back once the spa is completed!

My husband and I decided on a weekend getaway to Charleston, South Carolina and to the Charleston place as our home away from home. From the time that we arrived on the property, the valet service greeted us with a friendly smile and gave us some great dinner recommendations as we arrived in the evening. I wanted to note 3 folks particular, Patrick (bellman),, Haleigh, and Logan (valet service). Those were the three folks attending to us during our stay and there service was absolutely impeccable! The front desk service was very accommodating, the facility made sure that every detail of our stay was everything we hoped for and more. Our suite was absolutely amazing! The bed was so very comfortable and the pillows were feather pillows. We felt like we just became one with the bed and we could’ve stayed there all weekend had we it wanted to get out and explore the beauty of the charm in the hospitality, the Charleston, South Carolina has to offer! We had breakfast in the Palmetto Cafe on the property. The chicken and waffles were some of the best we’ve ever had! On our last day, we ventured into the pool area and WOW, we were blown away! The infinity pool, the hot tub, the restrooms, shower, vanity, offered everything one would need before during and after pool activity. The Charleston Place is most certainly one for checking off your bucket list when your travels take you to Charleston, South Carolina! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Excellent location in the Heart of Charleston. Hotel was superb, from service to the classic decor. Simply faultless and will be staying again on our next visit.

After my mom completed a difficult health journey, I surprised her with a celebratory trip to Charleston. Choosing The Charleston Place turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made.

From my very first call, Maisha Harris in Reservations made me feel confident we had chosen the right hotel. She went above and beyond before my mom even arrived, and every member of the team delivered on that promise.

My mom couldn’t stop talking about the kindness she experienced. Roosevelt shared a meaningful personal story that made her feel seen, the front desk associate warmly congratulated her on reaching this milestone, John at the Palmetto Café provided wonderful service, and Chef Michelle Weaver made her dinner unforgettable.

The moment that meant the most was returning to her room to find a handwritten note and a beautiful chocolate dessert congratulating her. It was such a thoughtful surprise.

The Charleston Place is certainly beautiful, but what truly sets it apart is its people. They made my mom feel celebrated, cared for and genuinely special during an important milestone in her life. We’ll never forget their kindness, and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

All around top notch experience! Customer service far exceeded expectation. My 18 year old daughter and I had a girls weekend to spend time together and I couldn't thank all the staff enough for the gracious hospitality we were shown. The Charleston Place went above and beyond. I highly recommend.
