Good food in the evening
It was convenient for the Local party i was attending
Very dated hotel side, smelled fusty, very dated decor, poor quality mattress and pillows. Kettle very old and stained, carpets needed a good hoover around the edges near skirting boards. Bathroom had a few hairs and cracked floor tiles. This was room 207, 206 was my aunt whose room was much the same as was room 109 my cousin whose room did jotnlock and she was staying in the Room alone so very scared all night. Breakfast service was with one attendant who was running around serving all tables alone, drinks should be laid out for customers to help themselves, poor guy was run ragged. Food was hot and served quickly, sausage was horrible quality, no flavour and full of crunchy gristle. Eggs perfect just as I liked, bacon cheap quality shrivelled and flavourless.
It was fine
It wasn't clean , it had some body else's shower gel in shower and filter papers on the floor , it could do with decorating
Excellent food & very friendly & professional staff
The rooms are dated & showing signs of ware but perfectly comfortable
Situation of hotel. Friendly staff. Comfortable room.
The food is good bed was lovely
The property needs a good paint looking a bit tired
The staff were friendly
It was filthy and in bad repair, the blind in the bathroom didn’t work so anyone walking along the road had more than they bargained for, it was in a very bad state of repair
All except breakfast
On weekdays breakfast is served from 10am till noon!! Unbelievable. Terrible. A meal after 10 is NOT breakfast. Not surprisingly I had to be somewhere well before 10 so I had NO BREAKFAST, This turned a good experience into a DIRE one.
The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The veggie breakfast was decent enough. It's proximity to some very nice scenery makes it a good value stay for exploring the punchbowl. This place has seen better days, no doubt, but it wasn't pretending to be fancier than it is.
The corridors smelt musty and the bar didn't have an IPA on tap! Not the end of the world though. Although the hot water pressure in my shower was fine, I was in a ground floor room, which might have helped. Those upstairs were less fortunate!
Breakfast was lovely. The bed was extremely comfy. The hotel itself needs some TLC but this is made up for by the excellent staff, who were all so professional and friendly. Well done staff.
It is a beautiful building and needs TLC.
The hotel is rather tired but it's a great spot for walking The Devils Punch Bowl. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the food is excellent.
The hotel could do with a lick of paint and TLC...
Location was great, the period property was consistent with the area and on top of the Devils Punchbowl which is spectacular!
A bit tired but as a base for one or two nights adequate!
Inexpensive. Good location for us. Decent pub food although quite a few items unavailable.Pleasant service
Room very basic, strong smell of bleach. No spare blanket, no hair dryer in room. No weekday breakfast before 10am not mentioned on listing.
Nothing apart from the location
My room ensuite was dirty, considerable dust on dado wood
