Biking right on the trail
Bike shop near by
Nothing
Super close to the C&O canal and great restaurants! So nice that they have a bike wash and repair station!
The location was perfect.
The bed was very uncomfortable, but the biggest turn off was the water pressure. Well the lack there of.
The staff were very friendly and customer oriented. The stay was quiet and comfortable. There were ample choices for breakfast. The hotel is located right on the trail for the junction of the C&O canal trail and the Great Allegheny Passage Trail. They particularly cater to cyclists by having an outside bike stand, tools, and even a bike wash.
There really wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room as well as all common areas were very clean. The breakfast was fantastic and restocked continuously through out the designated time. The hotel is bike friendly which was a plus for our group.
I rode my gravel bike on the C&O (Chesapeake and Ohio) Canal Trail, a total of 185 miles between Washington, DC, and Cumberland, MD. During the trip, I camped out for 3 nights and stayed at two different hotels. I would have been better off spending the night in my tent than at those two hotels. When I arrived in Cumberland, I was 10 feet from the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott. The Cumberland Marriott does it right; it knows what the customer wants. It provides a free bike wash outside the hotel for all cyclists; it allows cyclists to bring their clean bikes to their rooms; and it provides maps and information for walking or riding around town. Walk around the city of Cumberland; it starts a few yards from the hotel. Make sure you check out Cafe Mark for a remarkable cup of coffee or a little lunch; it is a two-minute bike ride or 8-minute walk. Uncle Jack's is a great spot to enjoy a cold one along with excellent pizza. It's even closer to the hotel. The city of Cumberland offers cyclists the best provisions anyone would want. Restaurants, Shops, a bicycle repair shop, a museum, and Amtrak has a stop in Cumberland where you can carry your bike and get a ride to Pittsburgh or Washington, DC. The Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Cumberland is the best place you will find on the entire Great American Rail Trail.
Room was clean staff was so nice and helpful breakfast was just horrible 😫. Not even the fruit was fresh sadly. Could use a upgrade for the price charged.
Location was great.
Overall, great place to stay.
Price is rather high for the area.
We needed a place to stay on our way back from a larger trip and picked the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Cumberland. It was a great find. The hotel was clean, there was an indoor pool and hot tub (both in good condition), and there was a complimentary breakfast with lots of hot and cold options. The hotel is also conveniently located near but not on the freeway which was great for a one night stop over. The price was also reasonable. I’d definitely stay there again.
Pretty clean and I believe it was the night turned guy was cool but the day people were kind of ehh.
Pool needs fixed, hot tub didn’t work, main reason I choose hotel is o stayed here before but nothing was broken back then I was planning on enjoying the hot tub one of the main reasons I chose this place why I went with a different hotel and I know it was not working. The pool area just seems like it needs up to be maintenance a little more
Clean, friendly, and attentive. This facility really allowed us to enjoy our vacation and not feel rushed; the extended breakfast hours allowed us to sleep in a bit more than most hotels, the late night pool/whirlpool hours helped us relax, the noon checkout gave us enough time to leave feeling refreshed. Tons of stuff to do, all within walking distance. Overall a great experience!
all is set for people to travel along the trail.
bike secure racks, tools
close to restaurants
nothing
Great location, very clean.
You could hear some street noise
Great location
There wasn’t anything
Location to the bicycle trails, canal and town.
Can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
The position
Terrible service. The room was only made after I complained. Most importantly, I wasn't given a receipt for my payment. At checkout, I was told the printer wasn't working and they'd email it to me. But even today, after 2 weeks and 5 emails, I still haven't received a response! I need the receipt for my company's refund!
