Superb
Pros:

Nothing not to like. The room was pretty big, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were great. The bar was nice and the restaurant and food were excellent.

Cons:

Small point, the car park at the back would be even better for motorcycles if it was tarmaced.

An enjoyable stay in one of the new rooms.
Pros:

The breakfast was ordered the previous evening and ready the next morning - as ordered. We enjoyed dinners in the restaurant on both evenings of our stay

Cons:

There was a problem with the heating on our arrival day and room became rather cool, but it was resolved when we reported it. We had booked dinner for both evenings via Booking.com and mentioned it at check in, but no table reserved on second evening - fortunately one available.

Lovely place with nicely decorated rooms
Pros:

The staff were great. We arrived after check-in time, but they were ready to wait for us and were very accommodating. The breakfast was also lovely with hot preorder options.

Cons:

Rooms and en-suite bathrooms were rather on the smaller side, but lovely and clean.

Das Bett war wirklich toll. Das Zimmer an sich war auch sehr nett.

Cons:

Das Frühstück war leider nicht so gelungen.
Das Bad war recht kühl, sowohl in Gestaltung als auch in der Temperatur.

Great place with very nice staff
Pros:

Room was large and comfy. Evening meal was 1st class. Not a huge menu but I would have eaten everything on it and what we did order was cooked to perfection.

Cons:

Breakfast was a bit of a let down. Black pudding was lovely but my poached egg was overcooked and the bacon was dry and hard to cut. All the ingredients seemed of good quality just let down by the cooking.

Pros:

My room was very nicely decorated & the bed was very comfortable. The pub itself was furnished well & had lovely decor. The location was great, situated in the centre of Lauder, only a 15 minute walk to Thirlestane Castle. Had a great stay.

The room was in an annex which obviously just been converted so it was brand new. Evening meal was delicious. Staff friendly and helpful.
