All seemed okay. The only downside was what I can describe as renovations taking place above us from 10pm until 4am. I spoke to staff who said no work was being carried out and must have been other guests but when you have workmen vans parked outside it’s hard to agree. Lots of banging all night with 3 very tired kids wasn’t the best break, this maybe a one off so will happily say all other aspects were fine.
Do you want to be threatened by aggressive staff?
Wait while police remove one of the vagrants who attempts to take up residence?
Or, best of all, spend the night in what is used as an extension of the local womens' refuge by police, having bricks thrown at your window by one of the neighbours who is attempting to get to his wife, as he is (once again) trying to kill her?
If so, then this is the place for you!!!
Such is the nature of the establishment that at night Reception is manned by a very rude and aggressive "doorman" (their description) i.e "bouncer", to deal with the anticipated "incidents".
We did bring this employee's attitude to the management's attention but they didn't seem to care or be prepared to address it.
This is very unfortunate as the hotel is ideally located, close to the beach and all the amenities. However, should you be planning to visit Bournemouth there are many other much better hotels in the area and I can only recommend that you stay in one of those.
We shall definitely not be returning!
.
Staff excellent and caring. Hotel looks tired. Thin sheet on bed so take a throw. No heating in room.
Local eateries good value. Local shops.
Ok for one night if very cheap which is was not but very run down and no parking on the day
Lights not working, poor furniture, full of stag and hen parties, expensive and didn't include breakfast even though I was sure it had been booked!
Would not stay here again, it was not up to any standard.
Very noisy,
Romm was cold, and the douvet was thread bear, no blankets to be had and nobody on reception.
This not value for money, and no breakfast included in the price.,I was phoned in advance to what time I would be arriving at,to find wok men and tools on the stairway, work must go on.
Convienient location by the beach. We only stayed 1 night as we had my Christmas Party nearby, very reasonable, clean and spacious
Location of htel was ideal, comfy rooms, would stay again.
Hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. However, there were a lot of issues encountered during our stay. In the main, as we were staying just 1 night, I was able to live with, it would have been different if I was staying longer, or was sharing a room.
The room was freezing on arrival, I had to use an electric fire to heat it up.
Bathroom freezing and no heating in there.
Light above the sink not working.
Toilet roll holder broken.
Water stopped flowing 1/2 way through my shower on Sunday morning.
The paintwork in the bedroom was chipped and worn, while the walls had lots of dirty marks on them.
Tea Cups were not washed properly (still had tea stains in them).
Only 1 light in the room (in the middle of the ceiling) and the switch was just inside the door, so had to get out of bed to switch it on and off.
Little room around the edge of the bed to move, and unable to open the wardrobe properly, due to the bedside cabinet being in the way.
Although check out was 10am, and we checked out on time, we were unable to leave, as our car was blocked in by the car of a hen party, who the manager was unable to wake up.
Hotel room was clean and the breakfast good , that's all we were after so pleased as the price was very good
All in all great value for the price
Had a lovely weekend away.friendly and welcoming. Clean and comfortable
Room clean & tidy, overall, looks better following the refurbishment. Staff friendly & helpful, breakfast freshly cooked & more than adequate.
The room was clean & tidy though basic but we knew that before travelling as the cost was reasonable.
The breakfast & service was very good. We had to pay an additional £5 to park the car (£10 for vans)
The Wi-Fi did not work in our room (top floor) but we were told of this on arrival.
Good location and parking cheap but really needs an update dated rooms, one tap top off but cold on the hot so burnt my hand as water was very hot toilet flush kept popping off wifi was terrible people had to go to reception in the night just to use it but for the price the location is great!! Very quiet at night
room was ok clean and tidy.shower head was taped up and pointing to the side wall so awkward use.
hotel was in a good location. breakfast was fine.
Hotel was clean with very pleasant staff. Building was not in the best of maintenance, but great for the price. Breakfast very good. WiFi was free, but only worked in communal areas, not in the room.
Rooms were very basic. WiFi was very frustrating. No sitting or lounge area and breakfast wasn't that good
It was horrible
had to change rooms because of a problem with the shower, but it was no trouble.
we needed a heater in the room because of a cold snap in the weather again no problem.
i think the rooms could do with a general tidy up /update but you get what you pay for
not bad for the price.
First of all guests arriving late need to pay attention because the check-in needs to be done before midnight. Fortunately the hotel contacted me and a receptionist waited for me because I was arriving at 00.30. The hotel is really modest, the locker of my room was faulty and the door did not close properly so I left the door open for a couple of hours on Friday night. On Saturday morning I asked for assistance to a member of the staff and she after several attempts showed me how to close it. My room was looking on the main street and was a bit noisy.
The £4 supplement for the breakfast is worth, full cooked breakfast is served.
