Fatumaru Lodge Port Vila

Great location and the jetty was very tranquil.

We stayed in September and the weather was good. The hotel staff were really friendly, and the room was cleaned and the towels were changed every day

Beautiful property and view of the bay. Well maintained and very comfortable apartments. Best of all, the staff are very kind and helpful.

We absolutely loved our stay at Fatumaru Lodge—a perfect base for our family holiday in Vanuatu.

The room was spacious and well-equipped, with cooking facilities, a proper fridge and freezer (a big plus with kids!), and plenty of room to relax.

The view from our room was stunning—sparkling water by day, beautiful sunsets from the sundeck by night. It was peaceful, picturesque, and felt like our own slice of paradise.

It’s also in a super convenient location—an easy walk to local cafes and restaurants, with a bus stop right outside if you want to head into town.

Friendly staff, a relaxing vibe, and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We’d absolutely recommend Fatumaru Lodge to any family visiting Port Vila!

I had a very nice stay here! My room was super clean and comfortable and the property was filled with things to do and near the city center. Probably the best place I stayed at while in Port Vila!

Fatumaru Lodge was a wonderful safe haven in Vanuatu. We explored the island a lot including going over to Irikiri Island and Hideaway Island and each time were so much happier with our accomodation at Fatumaru Lodge.

Key benefits:
- very peaceful and quiet. You rarely hear staff or other guests
- extremely roomy. We had the 2 bedroom and felt like it had lots of space.
- very strong air conditioning
- very comfy beds
- great outdoor balcony for drying clothes and catching last of the sun
- beautiful sunsets
- the pool is the perfect temperature and very clean
- the location is amazing. Easy walk to a tiny complex which has a food court massage bakery, and then walkable to Banyan Beach bar and main port villa town is about 18 mins from accomodation
- staff are helpful and friendly. They helped us book taxis answer questions and never felt overbearing

Fatumaru Lodge exceeded our expectations! it is tucked away in a quite area off the main road, walking distance to the local shops, cafes, markets and other Port Vila must see's. The staff were always friendly, accommodating, and made us feel very at home. The resort is getting constant upgrades and you can tell a lot of work has been put into it and continues to - what was surprising was the lush and well maintained gardens around the resort - so lovely, and it was so tidy - and our view was next level, we had such a great stay and made some great memories, thank you!

The review for the hotel is decidedly mediocre. The property is in a state of disrepair, and while we were given a renovated room—meaning the kitchen appliances were new—the rest of the room was nothing special. The bathroom was in extremely poor condition, with one side of the toilet seat broken off. It looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. The bathroom was in barely acceptable condition, clearly not renovated for many years. The sinks and shower were completely clogged with limescale, making it nearly impossible for water to drain.

We reported the lack of Internet on the first day, yet it wasn’t fixed until our departure on the final day. The staff didn’t seem to care and barely acknowledged our complaint. The pool was out of service, and there was an overwhelming amount of dirt throughout the area. Trash was left lying around, and it felt like no one bothered to clean it up. On our last day, they began renovating the roof, resulting in constant noise and chaos.

We were promised a welcome drink, but despite asking, it never materialized; our inquiry was completely ignored. The cleaning service was subpar, with towels left drying on the office roof. Room cleaning was a joke—one piece of paper that fell on the floor stayed in the exact same spot until we returned. The whole place felt neglected and poorly managed. This hotel clearly operates on its own flawed rules, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Very nice stay. Good wifi. Friendly and helpful reception team that helped me organise the activities I wanted. Nice that you can take hotel’s paddle boards and kayaks around the bay!

Lovely staff and beautiful view

We loved staying at the Fatumaru Lodge! It is clean; staff is friendly; and location is beautiful. Our flight was delayed to Port Villa and the hotel was understanding/checked us in late. They also helped us schedule transportation to/from the airport. We cannot wait to visit again!

Beautiful rooms right on the water equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Loved that they have kayaks available to use at your leisure. Very friendly staff.

Lovely stay at Fatumaru Lodge, parts bit dated as expected but all in all was ok for the price. Power problems persisted in our unit the whole visit with power going off every now and again but staff quickly reacted turning it back on. Would suspects too much of a load on the mains power. Hot water in shower was a bit of a trick to master but once you got the knack of it you could have a great shower. Would recommend asking for unit Walla which was upstairs but great private view towards Port Vila.

Like it's close to town ..it's a little tired ,needs a refurbish

The lodge was amazing. You would never need leave if they did lunch and dinner meals. However restaurants are with in walking distances.

We had a one night stay before heading to an island. Staff were very accommodating and helpful with transfers. We liked our room with a water view - very comfortable. The pool was great. We had a rate with breakfast which was ok but croissants were burnt.

Pro's A beautiful location right on the Water. All Staff from the Manager to the cleaners go out of their way to make you feel special. Nothing is a problem. Close to shops and places to eat. Con's The place could really do with a refresh and new paint and pool tiles.

AGreat place to stay, for a quiet get away,the only down side is very steep hill to walk up to get to main road to catch transport to resterants, no prob for youngens
