Stayed here for the Love Phnom Penh event with Franklin Graham. Hotel and room were clean, staff was good, breakfast excellent.
Friendly Reception, good atmosphere and good breakfast n very nice restaurant staffs.
Disappointed, not as expected
The receptionist helped me to checked in when I arrived in the morning before my check-in time at 2 pm. Room was spacious and interesting view of the road underneath my 3rd floor balcony.
Over all I am satisfied with the cleanliness and the staff’s kindness.
The hotel is very much average. Room on the small side. TV signal poor. Internet signal ( via mirotyk) drops frequently. Signal strength once connected is ok. Rstaurant services ok. Food quality good, perhaps a bit overpriced
Friendly staff, easy check in, comfortable room, reasonable price
enjoyed the time i had there. all amenities required were readily acsessed and user friendly even for a non Kmer speaker .
Generally , it’s nice and simple place for business stay over few days . Good restaurant foods available in hotel cafe
Room was alittle small but quite cozy. The chair was not sturdy as it broke during the 2nd day. There wasn't a bathtub in the toilet and balcony. The cafe breakfast was filling but can be better. Staff was very friendly, helpful and informative. Overall, will still recommend to all.
Comfortable
Nice clean hotel with excellent breakfast in adjoining tapas restaurant. Food there us also very good. Recommend the menu for an evening out. Rooms were comfortable and staff friendly. For airport runs in tush hour, allow an hour and a half for peak traffic. We were ok by luck only as staff said allow a half hour contrary to the advice from our driver! You will need 3 dollars for tuk tuks to main tourist area but you can walk it if you can handle the sun.
Nice hotel, good location but probably the wrong side of town for us. Breakfast was really good though
This hotel is run down and far from a 4 star hotel. The hotel is musty and outdated. The plumbing is a nightmare. Worst of all someone went until my room when there was a DO NOT DISTURB Sign. Stay away!
Not the worst neither anything to shout about. Just met our needs for proximity to bus services to the countryside
Great. Will do it again. Very close to US Embassy.
The staff was really helpful and a good example of how welcoming Cambodians can be in the tourism-sector.
An extra thank you for not having staff who think being told fantasy stories and thus making themselves fools full of prejudice. Cara is a Hotel with heart and an attitude which makes guests relax.
This hotel is small but very comfy.
I would recommend anyone going on a tight budget to try this hotel.
Good Hotel. Surrounding area is not that good
We went as a party of four. The staff at Reception were extremely friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome and valued as guests. They made booking seats for a bus to Siem Reap a hassle-free experience.
We were pleasantly surprised when we received coupons for a free drink at their attached bar/cafe. The breakfast was a little different from what we're used to: instead of a buffet, we filled in a form that allowed us to choose one of four breakfast sets. Don't let the limited choices throw you off - every set was delicious; beverages, yoghurts, fruits etc are also included.
Wifi is free, but there are computers available if you need to use them.
Just across the road is a tiny minimart as well as a petrol station, should you need to buy supplies. Unfortunately, also located opposite is a nightclub, which may disturb light sleepers.
Hotel Cara is fairly new, so the hotel itself is quite a clean place. The staff speak English reasonably well, so we did not have much difficulty in communicating with them. It is easy to get a tuk-tuk/moto right outside the hotel. Near Wat Phnom and there is a petrol kiosk (Total) right opposite.
On the other hand, the hotel walls are very thin so we can hear out neighbours/people passing by clearly. When the doors slam it is very loud. This can get disturbing in the early morning or at night. The hotel restaurant and room service is lousy so don't even bother trying it out. Around the hotel is a fairly residential area but there are low-end kiosks and food stalls. It is about ten minutes to the northern end of Sisowath and half an hour to Tuol Sleng.
The amenities in the room are basic and you can get better value for your dollar at many of the other backpacker hotels located around Pasar Thmei or along Sisowath Quay.
