Old fashioned guesthouse experience in the mountains
Pros:

Proximity to great bushwalks in the national park and the variety of birds on the early bird talk. Old fashioned family style welcome including afternoon tea and an introduction to the 100 year history of the guesthouse. The modern chalets in the rainforest look nice.

Cons:

Limited dining options if staying in the retreat rooms, only the $40 buffet available for breakfast or wait for the cafe to open and very few meals at the bar if you don't want the $70 dinner buffet. Big delay with roadworks on the long drive down.

Difficult road there, but lovely spot with great views.
Pros:

Dinner buffet good, but bit expensive. Not much choice of alternative menu.

Cons:

Would have liked an a la carte menu for dinner, although can understand lack of catering staff for this.
It was our wedding anniversary, and I did ask if a small bunch of flowers in our room would be possible, when booking made. Reply came back as can do and no charge...but no flowers were in our room.

Heating in main living area was a bit weak. There were 2 reverse cycle Airconditioning units but there were no remotes to operate them.
