Staff was great as well as the view from our balcony. Room was spacious with two balconies, one facing mountains and the other looking at the forest. Additional bed is available, but we didn't need it. Lost World spa was amazing as well as the restaurant.
The room was outdated and definitely in need of renovation. Also, I don't remember when was the last time I had a room without TV.
the room was on the large size and good location but felt it was all a bit tired and in need of upgrading.
The cafe was good and the gift shop also.. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
The dinner was expensive for the quality of the food I felt. It was fairly basic fare and also the breakfast was only average plus requests weren't really followed ie eggs were slow to arrive and when they did they were hard boiled instead of soft boiled which was disappointing.'
Once again the staff were lovely and made up for a lot of the rather tired settings

O'Reilly's rainforest lodge is located 3,000 feet up in the mountains and it takes almost an hour and a half to drive there up a narrow winding road, with many hairpin bends. The road is safe and well metalled, but it requires care and concentration to get there safely. When you arrive, there is a sprawling site of rooms, cabins, a café, gift shop, a reception area, dining room, library, bar, laundry, and a discovery centre where you can get advice on local walks. There is a small plunge pool together with a jacuzzi and sauna close to the property and about half a mile away down the hill (it is worth driving) there is a spa )which you have to pay for) and a beautiful Infinity pool which is free. The real attraction of O’Reilly's is the bird life. If you join the 6:45 AM daily bird walk, which lasts 45 minutes, you will not only see rare rainforest birds but will literally have them eating out of your hand. During the day the same is true of the parakeets which you can feed with special bird seed provided for free by the hotel. There is a tree top walk and a boardwalk through the rainforest which we enjoyed. We also took one of the walks to see a waterfall which took about an hour and a half and was an easy walk through the rainforest. Our room was well appointed with a double and single bed, a balcony, a bathroom with a shower, and a wardrobe in which there was a small fridge and kettle. But the room was a bit dated without enough power sockets and no desk for working at a computer. We did have a lovely small balcony where birds often appeared wanting to be fed. (Don’t do it though!). We were surprised for such a special place that the general level of upkeep was not great. Paths were unswept and the area adjacent to our room (31 ) could have done with a good sweep up and wipe down of dirt and leaves. But this should not detract from how special the place is. In the evening there is a tea provided, then an introductory talk by the manager (with...

Die Lage war einmalig, aber die Zimmer und Austattung sehr in die Jahre gekommen.
Everything about this stay was fantastic. Great communication beforehand and so we knew exactly what to expect and how to get to the retreat. One thing I really loved was the commentary via the O'Reilly's App. This made the last hour of the journey from Canungra so interesting. Greeting at reception and check-in was simple and straightforward. Room was close by and the view amazing. Coffee on the balcony joined by parrots and rosellas. Lots of walks through amazing scenery with raised walkways through the trees. Tours available too. The glow worm night tour was especially good. Bar, restaurant and cafe of high standard. Really highly recommend - we'll be back
There wasn't anything we didn't like
Staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgable
Lots of activities on offer and beautiful walks
Room was clean and tidy
The food could be improved. I had room service for dinner and it was on time, which was good. But the menu wasn't big and the food wasn't great, especially for the price. The burger I got from the cafe for lunch was nice though.
Great place to relax and get away from the heat and traffic of the coast. We thoroughly enjoyed the forest walks, particularly the canopy walk and the walk, talk and feed the birds activity. Really friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Hope to be back again soon!
The range of food was fabulous, and the amount of different activities and walks provided is excellent and well worth the money. Lovely staff - Stacey was our waitress during dinner and afternoon tea and she was fantastic. Jona was very welcoming during the managers welcome and full of knowledge!
Lighting in the rooms was slightly dim. Maybe just needs a bulb change?
Ambience and spa hot water bath
I had included breakfast in my booking at 40 AUD per person. However, upon arrival at the property, I was informed that breakfast was not included in my reservation. It appears this may have been a glitch on Booking.com. I am unsure who should be held accountable for the 120 AUD discrepancy, and I would appreciate it if this matter could be reviewed urgently to prevent further impact on my experience.
I was traveling with my young child, and due to this last-minute issue, I had to leave the property earlier than planned. Additionally, I had arranged for a cake to be delivered to my room at 10:00 PM, but this was not fulfilled.
I do appreciate the manager calling to apologize for the oversight and offering a complimentary walking tour at 10:00 AM today. However, as I needed to feed my daughter, I was unable to stay and had to leave the property promptly.
We stayed 3 days in O’Reilly during our round trip in Australia. This place is wonderful with a great tradition and in the middle of awsome nature. The sunset and the southern sky in the night are the stay worth.
The drive to get to the retreat is interesting especially if you are tuned into the app that gives you some commentary as you travel the 45 minutes up the mountain. Tip for the non drivers is to stop in the winery and try some local wines that are then available at the retreat.
Check in was a breeze and we had a villa that is well equipped. The only negative comment would be that the trees outside needed some pruning as the amazing view was partly obscured. There is a small gas bar b q so easy to stay in and watch the night sky. There are plenty of trials and walks although some of the distances as marked seemed a little inaccurate. There are organised activities but we didn't feel the need to partake in these as the forest walks were quite sufficient. The retreat has a small shop for forgotten items, a cafe/coffee shop and places to eat. We ate on the second day and the food was to a good quality. As with many places, the staff are all youngsters absolutely doing their best but perhaps the odd direction from management about time and task allocation would be useful. Apart from supper time the retreat never seemed busy and we would hardly ever come across anyone on the trails. When you did everyone was incredibly friendly and you swopped stories. We met the most famous actor in Estonia during one hike who was in Australia for a series of one man shows. As a place to get away from it all into nature yet with all the comforts of home waiting at your villa, its probably about as good as ut gets.
Very kind and helpful
Flexibility with a little early checkin and checkout
All was acceptable
The villa was very comfortable and the view was great
Needed a little bit of TLC could not use the barbecue I might stay
When making the bed, the mattress cover was stained and needs to be replaced The furniture on the balcony These are good clean. although the animals come there quite often it should still be cleaned better.
