Lovely hotel but food lets it down
Pros:

Nice modern hotel staff very friendly and helpful rooms cleaned daily and pool area very good. The downside was the food some weird combinations at breakfast and evening meals very little in the way of chicken and beef but pork in various recipes almost daily. Personally the food didn’t feel tailored to the English taste and we struggled to put a decent plate of food together and ended up eating out most nights

Make sure you visit Chus & Adriana in the Jameos pool bar
Pros:

Great holiday in a lovely location. Rooms are perfect and have everything you need apart from a toilet brush.
No idea what people are moaning about - there is DEFINITELY an adults only area a LONG way away from the kids area.
All the food was great on the buffets. The pool snack bar had a great range and the club sandwiches are incredible.
Chus and Adriana are amazing and really look after you - although first impressions can be misleading 🤣.
Evening entertainment is varied and great fun - it is what you make it!
Will return!

Poor
Pros:

This hotel is badged as a 4* - it is not. The public areas are of that standard however the village accommodation certainly falls short. The rooms are dated and in need of upgrade and redecoration.
We paid for an all inclusive package only to find that specialty restaurants were not included (50% discount only for all inclusive). Buffet dining was adequate however not varied at all and included drinks/wines and spirits of very low quality. Bottled water had to be paid for even though we were all inclusive.
The hotel itself is nice however the staff are less than helpful. We arrived late at night with our 2 year old grandson and were given a map of the hotel grounds to find our room in the dark - the cases were taken directly so we didn’t have to deal with those fortunately.
We will not be returning and for the price we paid, would certainly have expected better both in service, atmosphere and quality.
It’s a shame as it’s a lovely location and with more attention to customer care and some modifications could
be much improved- we will not be returning!

Clean rooms and good buffet food however few things needs to be looked upon
Pros:

Buffet food was lovley. Plenty to select from. Staff in restaurant weren't very pleasant. Tables weren't cleared in the bar area and same in pool area. It seemed to be short staffed. Booked into Italian restaurant on site on last night and was only ok. Was disappointed with this. Rooms were clean and house keeping called everyday. I booked a suite but wasn't a separate living area as advertised. Plenty of entertainment however one night there was entertainment which wasn't appropriate for kids. It was probably aimed ag adults but if adults are there so are their kids as its a child friendly resort. Middle aged men "dancing" with no tops on is not appropriate for kids!!!

A must stay hotel!
Pros:

Just got back from a week holiday with my husband, my two year old son, and my mum. Sunday 26th April - Sunday 3rd May.

The hotel is absolutely stunning, it’s gorgeous and incredibly clean- we couldn’t fault it. The stairs with the surrounding trees are stunning.

All of the staff are incredibly friendly and make such a fuss of the children. The two kids pools are heated, and the kids pool area does get quite busy quickly so there was a little sunbed reserving, but I didn’t notice any sun bed reserving in the main pool area. The main pool area is a giant saltwater lagoon, which is stunning and worth the stay itself but is cold. There was also a pool with a large slide which we didn’t use. Just watch out for the flies and take some spray, there isn’t many but the ones there are do bite!

We stayed all inclusive, the snack bar was great with drinks and helping yourself to ice cream etc. Couldn’t fault the buffet, it did get repetitive but it was your typical AI buffet. Although staff took your orders and brought one drink at mealtimes, and would never ask again if you wanted another drink.

We also booked a prestige room which meant we got unlimited used of the Italian and Steakhouse, we didn’t try the Steakhouse but we wasn’t impressed by the Italian. It felt like the same food we had at the buffet but just with table service.

Entertainment was a bit rubbish if I’m honest, but the mini disco for children was fab and the animation team are incredible. How they remember all the kids names I don’t know- Daniel was particularly great with our little boy. The bar service on an evening was very slow.

There was a sand park too which our little boy loved.

On arrival our luggage was taken to our rooms for us which was handy, my Mums room was ready but ours wasn’t (we stayed next door to her). So staff very kindly took our cases to my Mums room so we could all get changed and get in the pool straight away, we could use the facilities before we had our room too.

I don’t know if all the rooms are identical, but our bedroom was separate to the living area and it was so useful to have the extra space. The sofa was a pull out bed, and we had a huge king size double bed (a true double bed, not two singles pushed together like you get in some hotels!).

The only downside is on arrival we had to ask for more pillows, there were only two between three of us, and we had to ask for the coffee pods. But not a massive issue, it was rectified instantly. We also couldn’t lock the safe or use the TV one day and maintenance came straight away- the hotel staff are very attentive.

The only issue we had was an unfriendly shop keeper. We bought a toy plane for our toddler and when we got it back to the sunbed we noticed the wing was bent, and within 20 seconds it was broken. For it to have snapped the way it did, there was no way our son could have done it without dropping it from a large height- which he didn’t. When my husband took it back to the shop to ask if he could swap it, the man in the hotel shop became a little argumentative/irate over it and suggested our son had been banging the plane whilst walking away with it (he hadn’t). A simple “no I’m really sorry” would’ve been fine. A bit irritating after paying €17 for a plastic plane, and he kept insisting it would come out of his wage to swap it. We’re not sure why he became so defensive as my husband wasn’t trying to push it and had only asked. It left us with a sour taste so we didn’t use it again. The rest of the hotel shop staff prior to this were lovely though.

Side note: we did the submarine excursion which was great for kids and lots of fun, and also ate at Jungle Vibes one night which was great.

All in all though, this is a fantastic hotel- a true gem!!! We’re already pricing up another holiday, if we didn’t have our holiday booked for next year we’d be rebooking again in an instant. A definite return hotel for us, good just use some improvements surrounding some staff members and restaurant service.

Lovely family complex
Pros:

Visited with my daughter, son in law and 2 year old grandson. From their
perspective they would likely award 5 stars and say they will definitely return. I totally understand that because this complex is fantastic for those travelling with young children, The children’s entertainment team work so hard and everyone ( including me) loved watching the mini disco every evening. I think the suites with their separate living area are very practical for families rather than being squashed into a hotel bedroom. They are also kept spotlessly clean as is everywhere throughout.
Now from my perspective. I had my own suite next door to the family and it worked so well. I loved how very quiet and relaxing these suites were. So much space for one person! Lovely comfortable double bed
(not twins pushed together) , fantastic air con in living area and ceiling fan in bedroom, fridge with bottle of water replenished every day, English TV channels with TV in both bedroom
and living area. So much more but far too much to mention. Every suite had its own little terrace with comfy outdoor furniture and a couple of sun loungers which proved a great spot to enjoy a cuppa first thing or at the end of the day after leaving the pool area. The suites are bright and airy though the furnishings ,whilst modern , are on the cheap and cheerful side so don’t come expecting luxury.
My only issue (I’ve no sense of direction) is it took me a couple of days to get my bearings and kept getting lost finding my suite - this place is huge and a labyrinth of suites all looking the same.
The main building is large, airy and beautifully presented. Here you will
find reception, restaurants, shop, entertainment venue and a highly recommended spa. I had an amazing massage at the spa - totally relaxing and no upsell to purchase products. I do hate it when people say hotel buffets are repetitive because what do they expect but for the first time ever I can agree and I did find the buffet repetitive. While there was plenty of choice I can only say, in
my opinion, the food was average and
focused more of quantity rather than quality. However, we never went hungry and the restaurant staff were so hard working and friendly. In fact all the staff we came across throughout the complex went the extra mile and all made such a fuss over the children,
The hotel is s little way out and takes around 30 minutes to walk
into the main resort though the hotel offer a courtesy shuttle bus and taxis are easily available and reasonably priced.
Would I return? Probably not unless travelling with the family but wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to families.

Brilliant family holiday - one of our best hotel experiences
Pros:

We had an absolutely brilliant holiday at Elba Lanzarote Royal Village Resort. As a family, it was genuinely one of the best hotel experiences we have had.

The food in the main buffet was amazing every day - so good that we actually cancelled our à la carte dining options so we could go back to the buffet instead. There was plenty of choice, the quality was excellent, and it worked perfectly for both adults (including plentiful gluten free options) and children.

The pools were superb. One was heated, while the other had a more natural, cooler temperature, which made it really refreshing depending on what you wanted. The slides were a big hit with the children, and the pool areas never felt overly cramped or too busy. Everything felt well maintained throughout the resort.

The kids’ club was also excellent and being open for much of the time made a real difference. The staff were supportive, friendly and welcoming, and they helped create a relaxed atmosphere where everyone could properly enjoy themselves.

Our apartment-style room was clean, comfortable and spacious, with outdoor sofas that were lovely to sit on and enjoy. The resort itself felt calm, well looked after and easy to settle into.

The entertainment was also a real highlight. Some nights were absolutely hilarious, especially the themed singing show across the ages, which had great energy and plenty of comedy. The magician was brilliant too and really impressed everyone.

The location is great as well. It is only around a 15-minute walk to the centre of town, the shopping areas and the seafront, with beaches also within a similar walking distance. There is plenty to do and see both in and around the hotel.

We travelled as an extended family, with children aged 4, 5 and two 8-year-olds, plus adults ranging from their 30s to 60s, and everyone had a fantastic time. A superb family resort that we would happily recommend.

Improvements needed
Pros:

I think the hotel has a lot to improve on to be considered a 4 star. Travelled recently with our 3 year old.

Room - spacious but needed redecorating as wallpaper and plaster were coming away from the walls. We had a plastic bath and a shower over the bath. The toilet took a long time to drain.
The air con wasn’t amazing set at 18c and looked like it needed a good dusting.
Cleaners did a good job at cleaning each day. We had a fridge and would expect in a 4 star resort to have a bottle of water in the room each day but reception said we would have to pay for this.

Location - a bit out of the way for small children if you want to go to the beach or shops but fine if you don’t mind a walk along busy roads. They do provide a shuttle to playa dorada but you have to be there all day as pick up isn’t until 3:30.

Food - it was just ok but repetitive. My partner has a severe nut allergy and we found none of the labels had information on whether it had nuts for example a brownie with nuts in. Snack bar could do with the food being covered as a few times we could see birds sat amongst the cheese eating it. If you saw hot dogs at lunch you can also expect to see them in the evening. A lot of the plates/ mugs had chips or cracks. Glasses were nowhere to be seen at breakfast unless you arrive first thing. Not sure if it was food related but my 3 year old was vomiting on 2 seperate occasions during our stay.

Service - found the service to be really good except for the wait times. During the day and evening you can expect long queues to get a drink at the bar and the hotel wasn’t even that busy. Would also like to see more than 3 cocktails included in the all inclusive.

Entertainment - really good but again repetitive by the pool during the day. Really enjoyed the softplay but it’s a shame this is only open for 4 hours a day especially when it’s raining. Entertainment team made it very enjoyable for our 3 year old.

Pool - the main big pool is too cold so everyone was crammed into the heated pool. The 2 blue slides are so slow and you get stuck going down. Kids pool was very good. Plenty of sunbeds even though people were reserving them.

Overall we had a nice stay but wouldn’t return unfortunately. Big shame because the fixes needed are quite minor but would make a massive difference.

Looks the part but let down by poor restaurant and management attitude towards guests
Pros:

Very disappointing overall. Restaurant quality quite poor for a 4 star hotel (supposed). Management very rude to some of the guests, including us when children present. Beautiful to look at but clearly has a lot of room for improvement, particularly in the restaurant.

Understaffed& unclean
Pros:

Don’t waste your hard earned money , very understaffed unclean. Long wait at bars for a drink . We paid for prestige accommodation that entitled us to an à la carte meal in the steakhouse . Arrived late Thursday night went to book steakhouse for any of the 2 days it opened in the week “fully booked “. Really don’t get what you pay for . Supposed to stay a week moved after the 3rd day , hate writing a bad review but in this case it warranted it . Hotel has lots of potential but it serves their patrons with bare minimum . Sad that we couldn’t ever recommend this place 😒
