Bel posto, un po’ datato ma accogliente, staff molto gentile e disponibile. Ci siamo trovati benissimo.
Proximity to town
The lobby and halls were tired -a refresh works be terrific.
The staff was great, friendly and knowledgeable
Breakfast was pretty slim for the price point
This hotel is family owned and operated. It is charming and sweet and full of thoughtful touches - there is a library and Shakespeare memorabilia everywhere. The hotel is very dog friendly with a little "dog park" in the parking lot with poop bags and grass and benches. The breakfast is great for a complimentary hotel breakfast - Greek yogurt, granola, good coffee and steel cut oats. Yum! The beds are comfortable and water pressure is good (and hot). You can walk to "downtown", the theaters and restaurants easily.
There is some deferred maintenance but it is cosmetic and it added to the charm.
When I first arrived, I thought it would have a rustic Shakespearean type atmosphere but, it was just was old and dated. When we went to the breakfast area, as I looked out the window, I could see fingerprints and smudges all over the window. It was quite dirty. The lady that worked in the dining area was wonderful, a very nice person. Thank goodness, my wife spilled her water on the carpet. Thank goodness because the carpet was so dirty, when they cleaned it, it was probably the first time since Bill Shakespeare himself had cleaned it.
Overall a decent hotel, clean and well maintained
Breakfast was basic, pillows not great
The location was excellent.
The breakfast was sparse, although we both loved the yogurt that was available. Also, by the time we left the bananas had turned black and the oranges were drying up.
The staff was helpful and friendly. Everyone cared about the property and it was well-maintained. The room had a friendly welcome note when we got there. The breakfast staff worked hard to keep things stocked and tidy. I appreciated that breakfast was simple, but REAL food (yogurt, sliced breads, hard-boiled eggs, fruit compote, cereals, whole fruits, coffee/tea, bagels) and not FAKE food in sealed plastic wrap. It was easy to walk into the commercial parts of Ashland for restaurants and plays. Also an easy walk to Lithia Park.
Great location. Nice staff. Big rooms
Skip breakfast.
Nastrojowa atmosfera

Hotel da completamente da ristrutturare
Il peggior letto in cui ho dormito
Colazione imbarazzante
Chiavi come nel passato
It is showing its age and could be painted and freshened up, but the location is perfect, it is clean, the staff is great, a supermarket is Nextdoor, the included breakfast is good, and the price is good.
Nothing to dislike really.
Location (Safeway right across the street and only a few blocks from OSF), breakfast, pool hours (we first stayed here because of the pool hours giving our granddaughter a chance to swim after the evening plays), elevator (there are surprising number of facilities without an elevator!), staff
More handicap parking
I appreciate that Stratford Inn is a privately owned as a boutique hotel. I prefer to give my money to small businesses over chains when possible. The location was excellent. It was just far enough away from downtown to be quiet but still walkable. My family enjoyed that Shakespearean decor and our room was very clean and comfortable, if a little dated. I do not mind dated as long as it's clean and cozy. The staff were very kind and helpful!
We could hear our neighbors above walking around most of the evening. The Inn seems to be lacking some soundproofing. The neighbors weren't being rude or particularly noisy, you could just hear a lot of everything. I was also very dissapointed in the breakfast. I saw lots of grain items available (cereal, bagels, muffins, oatmeal) and fruit but nothing else. There might have been hardboiled eggs. There was no hot food and not a lot of protein options.
Location, looked good from the outside.
Best part was Riley in the bfast room so cheery and welcoming.
Room flooring was nice if youhave pets
Too noisy being on the 2nd floor; could hear the tenants above us walking.
They are not pet friendly when expecting dogs to not bark. Ok right. Cost is per dog! Ouch
Pool was disgusting. Slime or scum on bottom of pool making it very slippery. Also staff really did mot show any concern when this was brought to their attention. Health hazard!!
