Waterfront beauty
Pros:

Highly recommend this great hotel on the waterfront just off the beaten path of town center. We walked or used scooters to enjoy the breeze and sunsets every night. Such a walkable city! Great staff! Great food. Beautiful rooftop pool. Easy to get to from airport.

Excellent stay
Pros:

Stayed here 4 nights and had a wonderful time. Located just by the Tagus river. Excellent location to explore Belém Tower, the monastery etc. The 15e tram is within walking distance.
The room was spacious and clean.
Breakfast was delicious and having it outside in the morning is amazing.

Excellent
Pros:

Lovely staff. , very clean and has a nice location.
It’s a little expensive to be honest but I guess it’s Lisbon with a nice view .
Can be a little noisy as there is an extremely busy road next to it but again it’s a city hotel .
Lovely breakfast huge choice and very helpful staff.

Not quite 5*
Pros:

Lovely three night break, enjoyed the hotel but a few things let it down unfortunately, room very very dark wardrobe light not working so hard to see clothes, toilet forever filling and noisy had to flush it 3-4 times to make it stop, lack of plug points is really annoying unless you want to scramble on floor behind tv or under a desk. Spa very overpriced booked for a couples massage and spent time in spa afterwards, would give the massage a 2 star had better for half the price, some of the facilities in spa broken or not working. Eg massage shower only one working the massage fountain only one working steam room had an awful smell and wires hung out under Turkish bed. Meant to be a relaxing experience but a gentleman’s phone kept ringing every two minutes and was shouting really loud on phone for over 30 mins staff didn’t address this at all which ruined the relaxation experience.
Reception staff were excellent 👌🏻 very impressed with them.
Think this is a four star hotel at a push too many things let it down unfortunately to give it 5*.

Awful experience at hotel
Pros:

We had a one night stay at the Altus-Belem hotel in Lisbon before our flight back home to the US. The location was great, on the river. Staff was attentive when we arrived.

But within an hour of getting our room, we started receiving phone calls from the outside from people trying to reach the restaurant. But the phone calls came directly to our room even though everyone was dialing an outside line. I could only disconnect 1 of the 2 phones in the room.

When I called down and even showed them what was happening, they were sympathetic (they could not fix the issue at night) but did not offer a new room or to send anyone up to try and disconnect the other phone. Needless to say, the phone rang 4 times over night and was disruptive to our sleep.

Very disappointing.

Beautiful Hotel and Spa, Wonderful Staff, Magic James Bond views of Belem , Lisbon
Pros:

My highest compliments to Bruno and his wonderful staff who run The Altis Belém Lisbon. It is a beautiful contemporary hotel, situated in cultural Belém, situated right on the Tagus River estuary Lisbon. This hotel has a fabulous contemporary stylish design with the most stunning rooms and facilities with views to die for. I have stayed at this wonderful hotel many times and am always astounded at how special a place it is to stay whilst visiting the great city of Lisbon. I choose to stay in the Altis Belém mainly because its staff are so friendly, kind and helpful and mostly because this hotel offers very large, airy, beautiful spacious rooms with stunning views of the river Tagus and Belém, with easy transport access to downtown Lisbon and is a short hop by taxi to the airport. All the Hotel rooms have gorgeous spa bathrooms, electric blinds and windows and wooden floors. large beds, with air-conditioned cool decor. The attention to detail in this design hotel is a must to be seen. Bruno the Manager and the staff are so helpful and will assist with any issue. I have a serious lung condition staff always ensure my room is set up with Hypoallergenic bedding which for me is lifesaving. I can open doors and windows for fresh air. Any request the staff are happy to assist, with e.g. ice in your room, spare pull out bed for children, booking taxis, going to a match, shopping in El Cortez Ingles (the hotel will organise complementary taxi to the Department store for clients) , Columbo shopping Centre, markets, Galleries, etc. the excellent Manager Bruno and his staff will gladly assist, We were even upgraded to a stunning suite . Also, there is a stunning roof top swimming pool to relax in with 360-degree views. The views are literally out of a James Bond movie, the roof top offers the best views of Belem tower and the bridge and Jesus The redeemer etc. For those not brave enough to swim in the roof top infinity pool there is also another beautiful spa with gym and swimming pool in the basement and it is heavenly to take a dip in the candlelit pool after a day sightseeing The breakfast is wonderful and always is one of our favourite parts of our stay, as the breakfast room looks out onto the harbour and Belem tower. It’s truly a family friendly hotel, our daughter has always been treated so kindly by staff. After a day trekking around Lisbon, the Altis Belem is a fabulous spacious hotel to return to soak up its atmosphere, with a terrace bar, note the views in the hotel surrounds and bedrooms, by night are as stunning as they are by day. The location is the best in Lisbon. The suites are amazing and some even have hot tubs with spectacular James Bond river views , some of the Bond movies were actually made on the 25 de Abril Bridge with the imposing statute of the sanctuary of Christ the king on the Almada side of the Tagus river in view by day and night, that is your setting to wake up to every morning in the Altis Belém hotel . Belém houses two incredibly famous landmarks. The first is Jerónimos Monastery (Mosteiro dos Jerónimos) and the second is Belém Tower (Torre de Belém) and you will also enjoy exploring the Monument to the Discoveries (Padrão dos Descobrimentos) and the National Coach Museum and a host of other Museums and Art Galleries on your door step, the football stadiums, shopping districts and the castle district are a short taxi ride away and taxis are cheaper than in most European cities , they are as cheap as the local tram ride. Lx factory is a short walk along the Belem tram lines.
Everything is on the doorstep of the Altis Belém Hotel, trams in Belem to downtown Lisbon, trains, shops even a McDonalds and a park with a playground beside the monastery for kids. There are endless walks and cultural institutions all within walking distance. All along the Tagus River front is stunning and great for anyone who likes to run or take an electric scooter, you have the azure Tagus River estuary as a bac drop.
As the hotel is situated with views facing back to 25 de Abril Bridge, and Padrao dos Descobrimentos along the northern bank of the Tagus River and on the south to Belem Tower. It is truly one of the most stunning hotels in Europe. Location, location, location is everything. This hotel is a place to make magic moments, and thanks to the wonderful staff who make our stay magic time and time again, and that is why we return year after year. Note that everything is on the doorstep of this hotel, trams in Belem to downtown Lisbon, trains, shops even a McDonalds and a park with a playground beside Belem monastery for kids. There are endless walks and cultural institutions, restaurant’s all within walking distance. All along the Tagus River front is stunning and great for anyone who likes to run with the Tagus River estuary as a back drop or just relax in the roof top pool soaking up the sun.

Note : 25 de Abril Bridge
Several movies have been filmed on the bridge, some scenes in the 1969 James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service when James Bond is in a car driving across a bridge with Marc Ange Draco's henchmen, and at the end of the movie when Bond marries Tracy and drives across the bridge with her in Bond's Aston Martin, note .pedestrians cannot walk across the bridge, but every year there is a half marathon and there is an observation deck which was built allowing people to go to the platform.[11]

Altis Belem
Pros:

The darkest hotel I've ever been too. I mean, no lighting. The halls are dark. The rooms do not have enough lighting. It's like being in the dark. Not only that, ur cellphone nay not charge, because the electricity may stop charging.

The only good thing about this hotel is the staff. They r very accommodating. The finished excellent.

What a spot for a sunset!
Pros:

Stopped by the Bar3841 when the sunset was almost over... Great place! Nice cocktails and food. Staff was very helpful and nice. They suggest me to order a Mojito. "The best in Town they said" :) They were absolutely right.
A must visit in Lisbon if you want to chill while watching the sunset

Perfect Lisbon Experience
Pros:

Wife and I were so pleased with our choice of the Altis Belem. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Lots of choices and great service even surprising us with mini birthday cakes for each of our birthdays which are one day apart. The spa staff were so friendly and provided an excellent massage experience. Location was perfect. Nice to return to a relaxing spot along the river after a full day of sightseeing and with multiple major tourist sights within a few minutes of the hotel. Thanks to the staff for making our stay so amazing.

Not Quite a Wow Experience
Pros:

I fell in love with this hotel because of its online photos overlooking the river but in reality it was somewhat of a let down. The location was good for wandering around the waterfront of Belem but crossing over the railway meant a long walk in either direction. The contemporary furniture and furnishings are in need of an update and the Deluxe Balcony Room was in need of some TLC as things chipped and/or not working. The sparse furniture (2 chairs and one small chaise) were uncomfortable. The outdoor balcony was an enormous deep space with two uncomfortable chairs and a metal sunshade (which could not be moved) hiding the view of Belem Tower. Despite requesting a quiet room we were still disturbed by train noises until the early morning. We were not given any information about the pool, restaurants or spa services upon check in. Also in the outdoor Gastro Bar our credit card was charged in US$ plus a E5 "service surcharge" added for this - all without asking us.
