A thousand rands is a lot for this hotel.
Pros:

The property is easy to find, it’s located next to the Main Street where most restaurants are.

Cons:

The hotel is under renovations, there’s an awfully strong smell of fresh pain. They had to electricity when I was there but they also don’t have back/up like most hotels in the country. I had to sit at reception to charge my phone there, my room was dark. Receptionist on duty didn’t tell me that there was no electricity when I was booking, I was informed of this issue right after I booked.

Great place to stay with a comfortable room, good breakfast and a hippo that visits at night!
Pros:

Great location.
Good breakfast.
Comfortable rooms, good linen.
Friendly staff.
And the best!! A hippo that walks through the garden at night!!

Water was a problem at times.

Hippo trail stakeout with all the comfort of a 5 star resort
Pros:

Breakfast great, full English and yoghurt muesli fruit. Location brilliant to see hippos. Beds very comfy. Staff very friendly. That’s all anyone could ever ask for in a hotel

Pros:

Типичный отель. Паркинг, ресепшн, завтраки. Мини-балкончик с видом на бассейн.
В самом центре города, на главной улице, там где все "фотографируют" бегемотов. Рядом - супермаркеты, заправка, рестораны, сувениры. В отеле, несмотря на расположение - тихо.
Завтрак - шведский стол. Средне. Не плохо, но и на "вау"

Cons:

Приехали в Santa Lucia, насмотревшись разных блогеров и миллион фото с бегемотами. Возможно, бегемоты там и были раньше, однако, теперь это - типичный туристический поселок с примитивными развлечениями - рестораны, сувениры, танцевальные шоу для скучающих туристов на верандах ресторанов, дневные прогулки на лодке по реке, неспешные променады по пляжу... До Хлухлуве - далеко, больше часа на машине. Не лучший выбор, если цель - посещение Хлухлуве или посмотреть бегемотов
