We loved that the trails were so close to the property! Had nice walks in the evening and morning too.
I was looking for a relaxing weekend for my wife and I and Seal Cove Inn was the perfect place. What little jewel , the ambiance , the setting , the views , the staff and the quiet , perfect. Surrounded by walking trails and a beautiful cypress forest running along just above the beach. Lots of great restaurants within a short drive. We are definitely planning to returning.
We enjoyed are time as always here at Seal Cove Inn. It had been 10 years since we have been been here and it was as welcoming, cozy and comfortable as it always had been! We had a lovely time 🩷
Everything! Our fifth year in a row and we will be back again next year :)
As usual great little Inn. Everything (but the breakfast) is perfect.
The charm of the rooms is great but might need an update. Breakfast could be improved!
Great little Inn. Clean and friendly staff. Best location.
All good. Breakfast is ok but could use an upgrade after all those years.
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. Lovely boutique hotel with spotless rooms. Food wonderful. Highly recommended.
Great location. Very quiet and comfortable. So many places to walk and beautiful views. Very pleasant check-in experience - nice staff. We had a wonderful stay and recommend it highly.
My wife and I have recommended Seal Cove Inn to couple friends, based on our internet search, and both raved about it. We live just over the hill (20 miles) from Seal Cove Inn, but decided to stay after dinner with with a visiting relative. The experience was even better than we expected. Seal Cove Inn is charming, has a great location near the Pacific, and the entire staff was very welcoming and friendly. We will be going back, even though it is an easy drive from our house. We highly recommend Seal Cove Inn.
Everything
Nothing
Seal Cove Inn is a charming boutique inn near Half Moon Bay. We stayed for four nights in their spacious, clean, and convenient two-bedroom suite, which is equipped with a full kitchen, laundry machines, and spa shower bathroom. Service was friendly, including breakfast delivered to our room each morning and late afternoon wine and cookies in the lobby. Highly recommend!
Magical hotel. Very special. Friendly staff and wonderful breakfast. Grounds are expansive and lovely. Rooms are beautiful!
We have been coming to the Seal Cove Inn since 1998. It was originally built in '91 as a BnB and has been operating since then. There have been 2-3 owners since the originals, and each time little bits change, improve, or are altered. But each time we come we can feel the stress of life wash away with each walk, bike ride or are seated at a bench.
Whether it's foggy and gray, or sunny and blue the ability to relax and slow the pace of life is achieved.
The rooms are lovely with comfortable beds. The morning breakfast is delicious and fresh, the sitting room is inviting and warm, the 5:00 wine is the perfect transition from the day's to the evening's activities, and the staff is welcoming and professional.
For a 2-3 stay along the coast, this is unbeatable.
The staff were excellent. We were spoiled but enjoyed ever minute of it.
The hiking trails near the property were gorgeous
That we had to leave
The location, the staff and the rooms were perfect. Quiet and serene. Each night they provided wine tasting and we could sit by the fire and meet other guests (or be by ourselves).
The grounds are impeccable and border on a marine preserve where you can walk through a Cyprus tunnel, see seals from an overlook and get to the beach.
It is a short drive to Pillars and Half Moon Bay.
Nice bed and breakfast located in a great spot near the Fitzgerald Marine Preserve. Walking distance to one restaurant which was great, great breakfast that can accommodate gluten free guests. Nice hosts that had information for things to do, and a welcome drink in the afternoon.
Overall a very pleasant place to stay, clean and well looked after by the staff, with views down to the water and a pretty garden. The location is very good; it is nice to take a walk through a little bit of woods down to the shore. Breakfast is light and what is usually to be expected at a bnb in California, and I appreciate that they offer to bring it up to the room. The coffee machine downstairs is much appreciated as well.
For guests staying there, I recommend going for walks in the woods nearby, and down to the beach, and stopping at the farm stands. I recommend dinner at The Conservatory; it is leagues ahead of the other restaurants in the area, worth a little more expense. Big Sur and Carmel would make a nice day trip. Cambria is a good stop along the road as well for those driving between San Francisco to LA. San Francisco is just over the hill and therefore this bnb would be a good place to stay for seeing the city itself.
My only recommendation to the staff, if possible, is to switch up the breakfast options now and then, perhaps something different on the weekends. I would also switch up the cookies offered in the evening. But the wine cart is very charming.
I think ultimately (if possible) what would make the inn perfection itself is to cook breakfast on site, and to ask guests to sign up for afternoon wine the way they do for breakfast, and then serve it with charcuterie, perhaps out in the garden. Not a criticism of course, just an idea.
What a home of warmth, peace and beauty. We had a wonderful experience inside with the luxurious room, fireplace and jacuzzi tub…and so enjoyed exploring the outside area and trails to the ocean. Soaring tree canopies and and an open sea that is vast and magical all while moving about beautifully.
