Pros:

The Beachfront terraces is one of 4 properties run by a group. I believe each unit is privately owned but run by a holiday management group, as we had locked cupboards that we could not access which I imagine contained the owners personal property.
Ours was possibly the most tired of the units we saw. Very old and shabby. Oven and shower needed replacing. Blinds broken, and sliding doors off their railings that kind of thing.
BUT, it is in a great location (across the street to 4 mile beach, 5 minute walk up to the main shopping and dining district, 5 minute walk the other direction to the marina) and the property itself (gardens etc) is very well maintained. The pool was fabulous (not heated). Communication from the management group was fantastic, they were quick to reply to messages, and when the cleaners missed something, they sorted it quickly. Shame we got dishwasher powder rather than dishwashing liquid when there was no dishwasher.
So I would recommend this place to stay if you are looking for something on a budget that is in a good location and you don't need the best of the best.

Pros:

Access to beach, but bathroom was not safe. Far too small ( less than 1 metre in width ) door in wrong place which obstructed entrance to toilet & door stop

Great location!
Pros:

We booked because of the beachfront location and we weren’t disappointed! Right on the beach, but an easy walk into town.
The facilities were good, the bed was comfy. As others have mentioned, the decor is a little dated in places, but clean, tidy and functional. There was covered parking available.
We didn’t have any issues, so didn’t need to call on anyone, but the lovely lady on reception was very responsive to my emails before and during our stay.

Great location
Pros:

Beachfront Terraces is a fabulous location - just metres to the beach and foreshore. The single bedrooms apartments are spacious and attractively decorated. The pool is sheltered and the garden area at the back pleasant. It's an easy walk to Macrossan Street

Excellent; will be back!
Pros:

This was our 2nd stay and the first for 30 years. It was even better than we remembered. Great location, really friendly and helpful staff (thank you, Tommy). Nicely furnished, clean and comfortable unit with a mid-stay change of bedding, towels, etc. Will definitely be back! Jo & Jim from Gold Coast

Pros:

Great location, not too noisy in day, wonderfully quiet at night. Bird songs, curlews singing and chirpy geckos. Reasonably clean and comfy. Manager was super helpful. We’d come back.

Renovation needed: False Wi-Fi Advertisement
Pros:

Our family of 5 visited in January 2023. Upon checking in we noticed a bit dated/aged feeling to the apartment (211) which was surprising considering the photos advertising like new amenities. When booking, a main consideration for our family is access to Wi-Fi, to communicate with family, stream movies for children etc; we we’re unapologetically informed that after our booking was made, Wi-Fi is no longer available at the venue. (At the time of writing this review, TripAdvisor still lists the location as having Wi-Fi). This was a most disappointing factor of our stay here, as we felt falsely advertised to and likely wouldn’t have booked a stay here without the Wi-Fi.

On the plus side, the location has a newly renovated pool which our children spent much time in. The beach is a stone’s throw from the property and we found the city of Port Douglas to be laid back and charming.

Overall. this location would benefit from renovation as there was a lot of rust and unclean/broken items in the apartment. While the proximity to the beach of this location is the highlight, there are several areas which could be improved to make a stay here seem more of what we expect when vacationing.

PAST IT'S PRIME
Pros:

The location and pool are great attractions that have brought us back 4 times.
The accommodation offered in Unit 203 was, at best, now merely bearable as long as you don't mind a very dated facility with faulty fittings.

We have previously been very happy staying at the Beachfront Terraces and have never had an issue previously.

However, this time the problems included:
Our fridge broke down and did not get repaired properly during our stay, the toilet flush button was broken, no key available to lock sliding doors opening to the beach. And, on last night we used the oven, which then came on intermittently throughout the night and could not be switched off.
The old TV felt like it was not much larger than a postage stamp.

Recommendation: Do not stay in Unit 203 until it gets refurbished.

Beach front views!!
Pros:

Perfect location for Port - unit 212. It’s an older unit but clean, comfortable and the views are wonderful!! Enjoy the pool, aircon and Netflix. You can watch sunrise from your bed or the lounge. Internal stairs are tiled and care needs to be taken - may be difficult with young children. Take a small power board as there was only one spare plug out let in the kitchen (couldn’t find any others). Would definitely return. Balustrade is now glass not the old white lattice shown in some pictures.

Good long weekend!
Pros:

Easy access to the beach, close to the main street, very good pool, good size apartment, dated kitchen appliances and furniture, but new air-conditioning and beds, excellent reception staff, plenty car park.

Location location location
Pros:

Beachfront Terraces has the BEST location. We had a fabulous view of the beach, across the road (there was occasionally a car or two!), but were close to the main street and shops/restaurants.
The two bedroom unit has everything we could possibly need, except the wifi reception was poor. This unit had two bathrooms which was great and a really well equipped kitchen. The pool was a delight and nobody else seemed to use it: we loved it!

Great location
Pros:

Stayed in a 2 bedroom garden villa. The villas would sleep 4 comfortably.
The villas are old.All taps leaked in bathroom.Perplex fell off door, rain wet floor.Took 2 calls to reception and 36 hrs for it to be fixed.
Rooms are only cleaned every 8 days, which is ridiculous.
We had a 10 day stay and never got room cleaned.
But it is across the road from 4 mile beach.
Walking distance to town, restaurants and shops.
Michelle at reception was very helpful
Organizing tours and advice on what to do.

Location location
Pros:

We have never been to Port Douglas before so location and easy access to things was very important and we hit the jackpot.
Directly opposite the beach and a five minute walk to Macrossan Street.
Our 1 bedroom apartment was very clean, small bathroom but not a problem.

Fantastic spot for a family
Pros:

We just spent 10 days staying at the Beachfront Terraces. We stayed in 209. The location was excellent as we were right across the road from 4 mile beach. The cafe on the corner made great breakfast and coffees too. Our son loved the pools. The only thing we would suggest would be to get a new mattress for the main room bed.

Outstanding
Pros:

One work... OUTSTANDING.
2 adults and 2 teenagers.
Stayed 10 nights
Had room 304 a newly renovated 3 bedroom apartment. Was clean, tidy, fresh and roomy. Great deck which led to the pool and also had a fan. Every room was air conditioned which was great cause it was hot and humid (34 degrees). Close to Main Street and all restaurants (within easy walking distance) which we had a new one every night. The surfeys surf club across the road was our favourite.
Pool was great and across from the beach.
Only issue was the mid stay clean was a bit ordinary but as soon as we mentioned it we received an unexpected and unrequited “apology” gift and they had the cleaners return within a couple of hours to do another full clean to ensure we were happy in which we were.
We have stayed in Port Douglas 3 times before in other places and this would have to be our best just due to the size. Full kitchen, bbq’s, laundry with washer/dryer and 3 bedrooms. Will definitely staying here next time.
Thanks for the outstanding accommodation.

Pathetic
Pros:

Very misleading advertising of the property, showing image with aspect to the beach with garden setting in front facing beach. Actual room received with "garden setting' faced a carport and a bit of grass. Requested room on ground floor for medical reason received room on first floor. We had to find new accommodation and we lost payment got beach tarraces. Very disappointing.
