Hotel Porta Fira

Excellent rooms with good bathrooms and toiletries. Breakfast is awesome.

Stayed here as part of a large group. If you want to be near restaurants, things to do and public transport, this isn't the best location. We had to catch ubers and taxis most days to ensure we got to visit the places we wanted to see.
Rooms are large and everything is comfortable but the bathroom design is confronting! Imagine a massive shower room which you step out of to dry and get dressed, however you are back in the room itself so everyone in there can see you doing so. If you didn't want to dry and dress infront of an audience, you have to take your clothes into the wet shower room, of which there is nowhere to put them except the wet floor. Breakfast buffet is plentiful.

For some reason this was a bit of a disappointment. We chose the hotel because of the hotel being on Line 9 from the airport. But as we landed late in the evening we ended up taking a taxi. It's an interesting hotel in terms of design. It is not in a tourist area but it's near a Metro station. The area is modern with nothing much around for tourists. The room was OK - slightly odd by having a sink in the bedroom area. The bed was comfy. We had drinks at the bar but did not eat there. The cost of the breakfast was way too high. No information in the room about the hotel facilities (Including the restaurant and terrace) nor about the local area- sights, transport options, retail, restaurants etc)

Would we go back? Probably not.

The hotel is quite striking visually from the outside. It is in a superb location next to Europa | Fira station. You can therefore get the “L9 Sud” train directly from the airport to almost the front door of this hotel for only €6.90. That train station will also get you to Pl España, from there you can get anywhere easily. I recommend purchasing a “T casual” metro card, that gives you 10 trips for €13, ideal if you are staying for a few days. You therefore get the best of both worlds with this hotel, easy access to Barcelona but without the cost of staying right in the middle.

I did not eat at the hotel as it was too expensive - €18 for breakfast is too much when you can walk to Gran Via 2 shopping centre and pay a fraction of that.

The rooms were clean, however the shower and toilet is only separated by glass screens with gaps, so don’t share with anyone you aren’t prepared to get to know very well!

They also leave food out, this is actually part of the mini bar but not signed as such. So if you eat it, you’ll be charged. They also don’t leave free water in the room and the coffee is very poor, as is the milk offering.

Excellent all round experience, from arriving to departing.
Nice large room. Comfy bed. Lovely view.
The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have experienced.

Did not book this hotel after experience at Hotel Agumar hotel their sister hotel

Basic hotel, right beside the Barcelona fair.
Ok for few days.

I want my jacket back! Send it or reply to my emails or replace it. Please share finance email so I can issue an invoice. I have called multiple times, even asked a local to call you... you told him I have to email. Been told to email then no replies. Followed up many times. Zero reply.

We forgot my daughter’s favorite stuff animals on the way to other city. We emailed the hotel and they respond in timely manner and put her stuff animals in the safe. This is truly amazing.

Staff, rooms, breakfast… everything’s good for a perfect business trip.

Porta Fira also propose a fast way dinner (bar) or restaurant. Both have been a good experience even if I have to confess that quantity are tight enough.

Very dated and old. Would never stay here again.
Staff were fine. Hallways were very hot. Very unpleasant perfume odor in lobby. Absolutely horrible.

Beautiful unique building. Nice rooms; great staff; great restaurant & bar on the property; nice exercise room. Taxis readily available. IKEA very nearby.
