Pros:

Stayed at the hotel at the beginning and end of time in CR. Paid for breakfast twice and didn't get breakfast either time. First time it was because there was only two of us in the hotel so they decided to do breakfast 7-8 but didn't tell anyone. Second time I was told they couldn't cater for an early check out, not even a bread roll. The photos on the internet are much nicer than the place which is quite run down and bathrooms really need some work.
Area is great to walk in to town for the day time though and has plenty of restaurants around it for the evening. WiFi is ok.
Noise from closing gate and local train was annoying.

Pros:

The room was very dirty upon arrival. There foot marks all over the bathroom floors. There are also dirty marks on the wall as well. The sink doesn’t drain properly, you have to keep lifting up the plug to drain the water. What I like about the place is the garden.

I stayed here for four nights & would sum up my stay as ‘barely adequate’. It is extremely loud, due to nearby bars, traffic, and flocks of noisy birds, making sleeping difficult. The mattress felt like sleeping on a sack of cement & the breakfast was basic. Finally, the staff was not friendly or particularly helpful. When I asked for an iron, the receptionist gave me one that was obviously broken. Stay elsewhere.

Older rooms comfortable but shower had nowhere to put soap or anything else. Otherwise good service, nice breakfast. Not too far from a nice mall and supermarket. Staff very nice and helpful.

Pros:

I highly recommend this property to those who want an authentic experience. If you expect luxury, this is not the place for you. If you want to experience "ordinary" culture and typical Costa Rican lifestyle, i believe this is a great choice.

Great Staff - Needs a little TLC!
Pros:

Everyone on the staff was super nice and friendly. The hotel is outdated and on a scale of 1 to 10 cleanliness is about a 5. They did have a good breakfast that was included. However is you get a room in the front of the hotel, you can expect it to be loud.

Pros:

Rooms are dated, bathroom not clean, walls full of stains. I even found some dry and old contact lenses in the nightstand. Bed is definitely not comfortable. Coffee was good and the location is convenient. Will never stay there again.

Poco personal. Desayuno deficiente: el pinto duro, el huevo salado, hay pocas opciones, mi hijo màs pequeño no desayunó porque no había cereal. El precio bien con respecto a la habitación de buen tamaño y el baño es grande, pero la tasa del baño era muy vieja, con òxido, incluso en el piso habìa manchas de òxido y la tapa de la tasa es de otro color que a la vista no es agradable. El ventilador de techo hacìa mucho ruido. El minibar tambièn era viejo. Las almohadas pequeñas. El piso de madera hacìa mucho ruido al caminar sobre èl. El personal muy servicial, el gerente preocupado por nuestra estadìa para mejorar en el futuro, lo cual se le agradece.

Staff was not pleasant. Not very intelligent, but that's everyone in Costa Rica. The property grounds are in terrible shape. Needs lots of clean up work. Trash everywhere. Overgrown plants or dead plants. Kitchen staff very rude. Typical Costa Rica. Attitude and disrespectful people. 😒

Pros:

We booked a room at the last minute and got a very low rate for our room. The staff was very helpful and responsive. The experience felt like it was a place in need of a renovation, but it was serviceable and clean enough. After exploring the city and looking at comparable places to stay for reference, it was worth every penny. It is not the Ritz, but it has the essentials.

It was bad! It used to be a beautiful place years ago. Not anymore. Landscape is not taking care of. I got mosquito bites. There were spider webs in my room and I saw one🕸️on the shower towels. Service was poor. I tried to get another room and was told the hotel was full which I didn’t believe. It looked empty instead. Their policy won’t accept cancellations so you will loose your money. Staff was ok. Not so welcoming and accommodating. The bathroom smelled bad. Water didn’t drain well in the shower. The toilet had a brown stain. It looked gross and dirty. The wood floors made a creaking noise when you walk around the room. I stayed there for two nights and couldn’t wait to get out of there! Do not stayed at this place and save yourself a terrible experience!
