Hotel Centrum Istanbul

I stayed here for four days and was very happy with my stay.

First of all, the location is fantastic. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and shops. The subway and trams are a very short distance away and connect you to everything.

The rooms are small - to be expected - but clean, and the are heat pumps in reach room. The Internet is a little slow but not bad. There was a fridge in my room and a hair dryer. Oh, and a safe.

The breakfast is not top shelf but it'll get you started with coffee, fruit, cereal, yogurt, eggs, pomegranate juice, etc. There was even French toast one day. The eating area is on the sixth floor and offers a not-terrible view. Not great though, but the seagulls really like hanging out there.

The laundry service was ridiculously fast. We checked in at about 1 PM and our laundry was delivered to our room before we turned in for the night.

The bed was comfortable but the queen bed had a blanket that was too small for two people. They brought us an extra one.

The only reason I'm giving the Centrum four out of five is that if people are talking in the hallway, you can hear what they are saying. It can be loud depending on your neighbours. Bring earplugs.

Right in the middle of the city, you can go mostly everywhere walking.

Really nice boutique hotel in a lovely part of Istanbul.

Unfortunately. . . .

They have a policy of removing all air con remotes - disabling the AC - at the beginning of October. The window coverings are not blocking.

Our room was west facing with, as above, no blocking window coverings and was like a sauna in the afternoon / evening / night.

As we had only one window, no airflow was possible. So, we wound up sleeping with the room door open to get a little air flow and cool the room.

I asked staff for a fan but essentially they laughed at me!!

If it wasn’t for our complete inability to sleep in the heat I’d have really enjoyed this place.

No clean

A simple hotel, with an ensuite and air-conditioning about a 10-minute walk away from the Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar.

A simple breakfast on the top floor with stunning views over the harbor.

While it is noisy due to the thin walls and the bar across the street playing music until about midnight, the location is certainly the winning key.

Very clean room. Excellent service. Friendly staff.

Horrible hotel with rude staff. Same breakfast every day. I was charged for 3 dirty towels which got damaged due to hair dye, when only ONE of them was tainted. The same towel has been washed at home with normal detergent. see pictures on how horrible the rooms are.
the staff let the window open in our absence twice (with all our belongings inside) even after asking them not.

The hotel is old cold old and out of date, the place needs a refurb,
The floors where dirty and greasey, the walls where rough and full of filler, selotape holding the wallpaper covering holes, hallways dirty,
Bed linen torn and thread bare hole in duvet cover,
No offer of hot drinks,
Scratched dusty old furnishings,
No luxuries in the room - tea coffee milk kettle refrigerator,
No luxuries offered in the bathroom just a bar of soap and two glasses,
Old wooden floors,
Rotten door frames,
No fire safety, fire extinguishers old rusty and hidden away under an old sack,
Hose reels rusted and leaking,
After complaining the receptionist became rude and came across aggressive,
I viewed another 3 rooms and all where in disgusting conditions with the windows open and cold during December,
No controllers for the AC,
Damp around the AC,
Damp around the window ledge,
My new wife was in tears,

Hotel should be named slum and shameless!!!

We enjoyed our brief stay at Hotel Centum istanbul. It is family friendly and near to all major touristic points in Istanbul.

staff was extremely friendly and helpful, had an issue with a crooked taxi driver , hotel staff stepped in to resolve it, breakfast was very good, hotel was always spotless clean , breakfast staff always go above and beyond to cater to your needs, i will definitely stay here again

The food was not renewed, as if every morning we finished what we did not eat yesterday. terribly noisy, both from the street and inside the building, the walls are very thin, you can hear everything in general. Hammam doesn't work - it's just a tiled utility room with taps for water. The staff did not provide assistance with organizing tours or excursions. Black mold in the shower, broken beds, one (!!!) socket in the room. Sewn together curtains, which cannot cover the entire window, they hang only for the sake of hanging on the sides. Refrigerator not working, no kettle or water.
