Overall Experience:
Our 8-night, 9-day trip to Ladakh with The Grand Dragon was absolutely phenomenal. Traveling as two adults with a young child, safety, comfort, and seamless logistics were our top priorities, and the team exceeded our expectations at every single turn. We felt incredibly well taken care of throughout the entire journey.
Uncompromising Safety & Tracking:
One of the most impressive aspects of The Grand Dragon was their proactive approach to our safety. The hotel management completely tracked our movement throughout the entire journey across Ladakh. If there was ever a minor delay or if we were running late into the evening, the team back at the base would immediately call our driver, Arif, to check on our status, understand the reasons, and ensure we were safe. This level of continuous monitoring gave us immense peace of mind, especially while traveling with a child in remote areas.
Itinerary & Planning:
Right from the start, Mr. Hafeez was incredibly accommodating, crafting the perfect 8N/9D itinerary tailored precisely to our family's needs. Mr. Ali was also fantastic—highly informative while walking us through the complete itinerary and expertly handling all our questions and concerns before we set out. They both deeply understood the challenges of traveling this terrain with a child and ensured an extra layer of comfort and safety was built into our schedule.
Service & Hospitality:
The entire staff at The Grand Dragon was exceptionally attentive, proactive, and caring, leaving absolutely no room for issues.
Dining: We opted for the breakfast and dinner package, and the culinary team poured an extra ounce of effort into every meal. The Head Chef, Mr. Deshraj, was wonderfully friendly, personally checking in with guests to ensure the food was satisfying and to find ways to make it even better.
Special Highlights: For my wife’s birthday, Mr. Sunny organized a magnificent picnic by the river. Chef Mr. Mohan and Mr. Kunal executed it flawlessly, making sure we enjoyed it to the fullest. My wife described it as one of her best experiences to date!
Our Guide & Driver (The Ultimate Highlight):
I saved the most important mention for Mr. Arif. He is exactly the person you want by your side on a trip like this. Driving us through the challenging, out-of-the-world landscapes from Leh to Turtuk, Nubra, Pangong, and back, he felt less like a driver and more like a close friend. Arif is a phenomenal storyteller, sharing the rich history of Ladakh and its every nook and corner. Beyond his excellent off-beat driving skills, he handled all our logistics seamlessly—even coordinating with our hotels ahead of time so our check-ins were completely effortless. He allowed us to simply enjoy the trip while he managed everything else. Thank you so much, Arif!

Our stay at this hotel was exceptional. What impressed us most was the genuine warmth and customer-first attitude of every member of the team.

A special thank you to Ms. Tenzin, Operational Manager, for receiving us personally and for ensuring a seamless and memorable stay, including the thoughtful upgrades to two different categories of suites. We were equally touched by the personal involvement of Mr. Danish Din, an owner and Director Marketing, who took the time to meet us on several occasions and enquire about our well-being. He was also extremely helpful in providing valuable inputs on our travel to Nubra valley and Pangong.

Being at a high-altitude destination, the staff's guidance on acclimatization and preventive measures during our initial days was invaluable and greatly appreciated.

The food was excellent throughout our stay. Restaurant Manager Sunny and his team members Mehtaab and Sunil attended to us very warmly.

Another unique highlight was the stunning artwork displayed across the hotel, much of it personally created by the Managing Director Mr. Ghulam Mustafa. These paintings add a distinctive charm and character to the property.

This hotel exemplifies hospitality at its finest. Our sincere thanks to the owners and the entire team for making our stay truly memorable. We look forward to returning.

Visited with my family and had dinner at ryu oka . We are thoroughly impressed with the quality and presentation . Truly excellent!!

Thank you so much to the most helpful concierge- our flight out of Leh was cancelled and the hotel went out of their way to assist us. Really fantastic service! Add to that a perfect location and we had a great stay.

Located close to airport and City Centre. Clean and neat rooms with mountain view. We had a memorable stay . Excellent hospitality and good food, with several options ( both south and North) in the buffet. We had a 6 day package trip which was well organized by Mr Ramzan. Special mention to Mr Amit, Sunil kumar, Somnath and Himanshu. Hotel is equipped with various amenities for entertainment and recreation. Overall very good experience and all of us had a really good time.

The food was very good (we had the red Thai curry and Nasi Goreng). The ambience was very welcoming and Rejina especially took good care of our table. Highly recommend!

My wife and I traveled to beautiful Ladakh from June 2nd to 15th, and it was a truly remarkable trip. We took several road trips to the Nubra Valley, Turtuk, Pangong Tso, Lamayuru, and Alchi. In between these journeys, we used The Grand Dragon as our base camp, as its location is perfectly central to all of these destinations.

The Grand Dragon is a magnificent hotel. It blends great hospitality and picturesque views with comfortable rooms and top-tier modern amenities. The cuisine at Zasgyath was divine—a huge kudos to Chef Desh Raj—and the service at the restaurant was exemplary (a special shout-out to Sunil and Basu!). In fact, the hospitality across the entire staff was exceptional.

The hotel is also ideally located: close enough to the Leh Main Market for an easy stroll, yet tucked away enough to remain quiet and peaceful. To top it all off, as we were checking out, we had the pleasant surprise of meeting one of the family owners, Mr. Danish, who graciously spent some time chatting with us.

All in all, a wonderful experience that made our trip to Ladakh unforgettable!

True to its mission, our 7-day stay at the Grand Dragon exceeded all our expectations.
From the moment we arrived until our departure, we received exceptional service throughout the hotel. Every interaction was accompanied by a warm smile and genuine hospitality. A special mention to Chorul, who ensured our check-in was seamless and comfortable, especially after a long flight and while adjusting to the altitude of Ladakh.
The rooms were well beyond our expectations. Having stayed at the hotel intermittently over a total of seven days, we were impressed by the consistency in the maintenance, cleanliness, and overall upkeep of the rooms. Any requests we made were attended to promptly and efficiently.
Dining at the Zasgyath Restaurant was an experience in itself. The traditional Tibetan-themed décor, coupled with stunning views of the Zanskar Range, created a memorable ambience. The service team at Zasgyath delivered outstanding hospitality. Special thanks to Sunil, Basu, and the entire staff for their stellar service. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were exceptional, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes. The quality, presentation, and taste were impeccable.
We also had the good fortune of meeting Mr. Danesh, one of the family owners. His humility, warmth, and graciousness left a lasting impression on us and will be remembered.

Grand Dragon, Leh does everything right.
We have been to many hotels in India and abroad, but the warmth and comfort exuded by this property, and it’s employees would parallel, or leave the so-called established chains a lot to think, and learn from.
We had booked a 5 night 6 day package with them on the phone itself with Hafiz being most helpful.
We were prompt picked up at the airport by Mumtaaz who guided us throughout our stay.

In the hotel, we were appraised on how to negotiate and acclimatize to the high altitude and dry mountain air.

The view from the hotel was exceptional with the highest peak of this area the ‘Stok Kangri’ opposite the restaurant and the foyer area.

The rooms were spacious well decorated with beautiful Ladakhi colors and materials. Everything felt premium. Room humidifiers, SMEG kettles, air-conditioning and toiletries were top notch. The balcony rooms are exceptional.

We enjoyed a great deal at the main restaurant. Every day was a different eclectic menu.
We had never seen Ratatouille being served one food station away from the best dal that we had in North India in a long time.

Chef Deshraj and his team worked wonders serving traditional Ladakhi food mixing it up with South Indian and North Indian cuisines. Due to the abundance of Gujaratis all around, vegetarian food was tasty and abundant. The garlic soup served everyday is unmissable.

The hotel had a very nice shop managed by Waani, which had authentic garments and curios and books at competitive rates.

The local sightseeing and the trip to Nubra was well taken care of by driver Javed. He was exceptional.

Evening tea was served with a wide variety of filling snacks from 4-6 PM. This was the time to interact with other guests.

Special mention to Amit, the restaurant manager and Sandeep and others who served us with much love.

We could see the owners frequent the restaurant and the reception area intermingling with guests and introducing them to the wonders of Ladakh.
This hotel is an architectural delight too. If you are into art, you will be delighted to see the excuisite paintings on the wall painted by none other than the hotel’s owner.

Grand Dragon had a wonderful Japanese restaurant with serving the best sushi and tempura. Never expected to have such a excellent Japanese and pan asian restaurant at 11000 feet. Its interiors are a sight to behold.

The booking team had booked the Stone hedge at Nubra, which was another excellent property and highly recommended to all. We were served with a lot of heart there as well.

I would say that my family had the best time of their life visiting the beautiful state of Ladakh embellished by the wonderful people who own, manage, and run the Grand Dragon Leh.

Amazing experience and extremely good hospitality. This is the the best place to stay in Leh. The food and speciality pan Asian restaurant Ryuoka served us excellent food chef Sandeeps preparation was too good. Among best pan Asian fine dining restaurant we have been too. One must definitely give it a try when in Leh. We were served very well Rejina.
