BUONA
Solo la posizione
Esperienza pessima.
- Wüstel e bacon cotti in modo approssimativo.
We stayed here as a family of four with our friends and their family. The hotel was everything I wanted it to be, clean and comfortable. I found the staff really friendly and they all worked so hard. The pool is gorgeous in a lovely setting and lovely and warm. We always found sunbeds and the meals were mixed but we never went hungry. The hotels pizzas are really tasty. It is slightly out of sorrento but it’s a short walk to to the train station and only a 10 minute ride into Sorrento. I appreciate those with mobility issues may find it more difficult, there are bus stops outside the hotel and the hotel offers a free shuttle into sorrento which you must pre book. Honestly had a wonderful time and thank you to the amazing staff for making our holiday.
Lokalizacja też dogodna, blisko stacji kolejowej, skąd łatwo dojechać do Sorrento i okolic.
Śniadania były trochę rozczarowujące — codziennie takie same, z niewielkim wyborem, a przydałoby się więcej świeżości i warzyw (poza pomidorkami koktajlowymi właściwie ich brakowało). Drobna sugestia na przyszłość: warto byłoby też uporządkować poranne rezerwowanie leżaków przy basenie, żeby każdy gość miał gdzie usiąść.
We had a great stay here, we stayed on b&b basis. the hotel is impeccably clean, pool area is superb with great views and large relative to size of hotel. The pool bar does excellent lunch, the breakfast is basic youth hostel level. The local deli la cascina and the tabac in the village are superb as is the local restaurant la banta which would be easily passed but shouldn’t be. The only issue with hotel is the location, it is 1/2hr walk downhill to seiano and £30 taxi back up. It feels a but hemmed in by an incredibly busy road and the pedestrian routes are very limited, the walk downhill to seiano isn’t nice or easy. Seiano train station is 5 mins down the hill and it’s £1.50 into sorrento, quick and easy likewise for vico equense which is really where you are and a bit of a hassle for evenings to be honest, the hotel also offers a free shuttle bus which you can pre-book to sorrento.
We had a great time just a difficult location but it feels harsh to criticise also, a conflcted review!
Absolutely lovely hotel. Staff are so kind and helpful, we were very well looked after. The hotel and rooms were incredibly clean and everything was very well kept. We stayed half board and everyone really enjoyed the evening meals which were delicious and plentiful for hungry teenagers. Breakfast too was great with lots of choice. Read a few negative reviews on here which we didn’t understand. Not our experience at all! Some people are never happy but we certainly were. We hope to return!
My family had a really nice experience at the hotel. I felt the need to write a review because some others leave negative reviews of the hotel but that was not our experience. It was a lovely memorable stay.
The price from Jet2 was great so we booked 2 rooms for our family. We had a sea view room with a jaw dropping view of the bay of Naples. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area was lovely. Quiet and calm. The pool was lovely to swim in. Our room was nicely decorated and was spacious and cool.
The food was a bit hit and miss. Mostly it was good. They serve classic Italian food which is not what people in the UK think Italian food is. They didn't serve pizza at lunch during the week which was a shame. We were looking for to pizza by the pool.
Tips
Other reviews talk about a long walk to the harbour area bit you can get a local bus there and back.
We used the local train station (10 mins walk) to visit Pompeii which took us right to the door. We booked direct with Pompeii because under 18s go free.
I wouldn't bother booking a boat trip from seiano harbour as all they do is take you to Sorrento harbour and you have to change. Better and quicker to go direct to Sorrento either by hotel shuttle or train and start your trip from there.
Travelling as a single parent with two young boys always brings a small amount of extra pressure. You do not have another adult to bounce ideas off or share the load when things go off track. Before we left, I had read a few mixed reviews online about the Grand Hotel Moon Valley, which made me a bit cautious. You just hope everything works out fine and that the hotel proves to be a safe, comfortable, and reliable base for your holiday. I am happy to report that any worries disappeared as soon as we arrived. We spent ten days in Seiano, and the hotel turned out to be spot on for our needs.
Check-in and checkout were seamless. The reception staff greeted us warmly and processed everything quickly. The hotel was spotless throughout, from reception and the dining room to the outdoor terraces and pool area. Housekeeping do a great job here.
We treated our room as a base for sleep and washing between day trips. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Having a small fridge in the room was useful for keeping drinks and snacks cold. We had an issue with our shower one morning, which I reported at reception on our way out. By the time we got back in the afternoon, it was fixed.
Breakfast was fine for a family. It is not fine dining, but there was more than enough choice and quantity to satisfy everyone. We ate in the hotel restaurant a few evenings and went out on others. The dinner menu was a bit hit and miss for us simply because some dishes did not appeal to the kids. However, if you do not want to head out, the restaurant will happily make simple pizzas or pasta dishes for the children, which makes life much easier on a holiday. The ladies working in the restaurant were brilliant, and my boys said they were like Italian Grandmas.
The pool was great for a daily two-hour dip after sightseeing, and we spent one full day just lounging by it. During the week, it was quiet and relaxed with no issues getting a sun lounger. At the weekend, local day visitors use the pool so it gets busier, but it was still fine.
The location is ideal if you want to explore without renting a car. It is a ten-minute walk to Seiano train station, where you can get direct trains to Sorrento, Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii, and Herculaneum. The trains are often delayed, but the route itself is very simple.
Despite a few negative reviews online that worried me beforehand, everything was spot on. It was a cooling, safe, and enjoyable base to explore Italy, and I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable hotel in the area.
