The breakfast was fine. Not too many options. We were disappointed that breakfast was served very late in the morning one day due to a staff call-in. Cold breakfast items weren’t even available during this time.
The heating system was not controllable in the room. It was too hot for comfortable sleeping plus the fan was always on and very loud. Staff had no way of controlling it. Thermostats in the room didn’t function.
Quiet an clean
Very Clean and quiet and it was easy to check in.
Dated and older. Lot of money for a shabby hotel.
Never Again! I used to like staying here. However this past trip, I was put on the same floor as a firefighter crew and they made a lot of noise and heard doors slamming all night til I got up at 6am. I had called the front desk at midnight who didn’t even attempt to quiet them down. The morning staff came up and she told one of the guys that they need to keep it down cause of complaints, so I know I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t sleep. For the price I paid, I should’ve spent a little more to get a quieter or nicer hotel!
The bed was very comfy. I liked the in room fridge. Good black out curtains. Quiet at night.
La propreté, la chambre spacieuse, une ambiance calme
Le petit déjeuner est simple mais suffisant, sans plus. La localisation un peu excentrée si on n’a pas de voiture mais ce n’était pas mon cas
No quite sure what the Plus status means, but maybe corporate should re-evaluate. The room was cleanish with a few carpet stains. Beds were comfortable. We needed to open the window to air the room out because smelled like cigarette smoke. The back of the bathroom door had no paint on the bottom 5-6" due to chipping/peeling. Breakfast was acceptable - the average Best Western hot breakfast fare. It is way past time to clean your carpets. See photo. This alone is what brought this review down to 3. On the positive side, staff was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our full day sightseeing in Fairbanks. Note: there is no shuttle service to/from the airport. Uber for 5 adults from the train station was $56 and to the airport was $35 including tips.
Review for Best Western in general: those shampoo/conditioner/lotion bottles you provide are a great product inside, if one can actually get it out to use it. Squeezing those bottles is next to impossible for us older, seasoned travelers. I shouldn't need to have my husband come in and squeeze with both hands to be able to wash my hair in the shower.
Location was great.
Old building but comfortable. No parking
We stayed here for 5 nights and were very pleased with our stay. The staff we interacted with were all very friendly. The room itself was clean and with a comfortable bed and blackout curtains.
There was plenty of parking available and the hotel is across the street from a large grocery store. There's also a water bottle filler in the lobby and free cookies provided in the afternoon/evening. Another major plus was the location was less than 5 minutes to the airport, which made catching flightseeing tours very easy.
The one improvement could be the breakfast. It was ok, but higher quality bacon, eggs, etc. would be beneficial.
Comfortable.Great breakfast
It lived up to the Best Western reputation. I have never been disappointed in a Best Western and this was no exception
It was a clean tidy place, easily accessible.
The staff at the reception. They would do well to smile. I was away and was contacted by a tour agent at the hotel. They did not try to contact me to inform. The tour agent left.. I lost the tour. When I returned soon after, the reception did not even inquire about my tour or inform about the agent's visit. At checkout time they were in a mighty hurry. We left after we were informed that we should vacate. No courtesies.shown.
Excellent location, good breakfast, very clean and comfortable
We came up to Alaska to see the Northern Lights, but had a day's layover in Fairbanks.
This Best Western is an older hotel that needs some updating, but the room is very large, clean, the bed comfortable, the staff pleasant, sturdily built so their isn't noise from room to room, a good shower, and the breakfast very good.
It has the advantage of being within walking distance of Fred Meyer so we were able to walk over to get all the things that we didn't want to pack from home.
The disadvantages is that the advertised shuttle service from the airport has been discontinued so it cost us $25 for a taxi to the hotel, the wifi is poor at best, and as I mentioned, it does need some refreshing (chipped furniture and some chipped paint) Despite the room size, there is only one chair in the room, and there is only one stand to put your luggage on.
It isn't fancy, but I would recommend it for a layover on your way north.
Excellent location, close to the airport and the departure of some tours. Having Fred Meyers across the street is a big plus, especially in winter.
Breakfast is quite good in quantity and quality.
Reception working 24/7.
The airport shuttle service is no longer offered, and the room cleaning service needs to be significantly improved. We had to ask reception directly for bathroom supplies twice.
Room was very clean
Room hadn’t been cleaned properly. Woman who checked us in was very aloof and not at all friendly.
When we got into our room it was 80 degrees. Despite turning on the fan, it kept blowing hot air. We told the front desk, got a fan and said the engineer would come to look at it. So, we opened the window as a solution.
