Everything was wonderful and will stay again
The key fob was really hard to work . We would have to try multiple times to get it to open
My mom, sister and I just spent 4 wonderful days at the Glunz resort for Spring Break. We had a bottom floor unit with the beach walk out access. It was awesome to be able to wake up and watch the sunrise while drinking our coffee. The unit had everything we needed to cook during our time there--more than most places give you. Everything was clean and we had plenty of towels for the bathroom and beach for use. Ceiling fans in the rooms and AC was cold.
The ocean access was perfect--the beach was clean and the water clear! We even saw dolphins right from the beach two days in a row. The pool and a hot tub was a bonus, though we did not use it much. There was also access to kayaks if you wanted them! The bar next door gave us drinks in plastic cups to be able to bring back to the beach. The staff at the front desk was nice and accommodating. Parking was simple and right near our unit. The beach was quiet and we liked the no bluetooth speaker policy. The chairs on the beach were comfortable and they even had umbrellas for shade. Close driving distance (less than 10 minutes) to various restaurants and stores. I could go on and on. This is a little gem in the keys! Wish we could have stayed at least one more day.
Not deal breakers by any means... but the sink in the bathroom seemed to leak a bit and we had to keep wiping down the counter. Also not a big deal, but we only received housekeeping once during our stay (they gave fresh towels and emptied trash) and they did not refill TP so we had to go to the front desk and ask. She gladly gave us a few rolls, no issue.
location, on the water, lots of birds to watch diving for fish.
overpriced and under furnished. Villa was rated to hold six people but spartan on everything, dishware, cooking utensils, bedding. no extra blankets, pillows, kitchen towels. rugs on the floor. even garbage bags. when asked, front desk always said to come pick up. for the price, these things should already be there. clients paying this rate do not want to take their industrial stuff home. garage in each unit but not available. STAIRS everywhere. up one level to living and kitchen, another to bedrooms. definitely not for older folks. even handles in bathoom are not easy like levers.
Private beach was great. The room was nice, as advertised. The floor hadn't been mopped. But, everything else was wonderful.
Entirely wonderful vacation in immaculate 3 bedroom suite with dedicated pool right on the beach. We loved watching the pelicans and other birds from our patio and balcony. Functional kitchen for guests who want to cook. Great housekeeping and plenty of fresh towels. Staff was very helpful during reservation process and throughout our stay. We would undoubtedly stay there again!
We really enjoyed the amenities and the view. Great restaurant next door. Hotel was perfect
Very friendly staff, hot tub was great. Lounge chairs very comfortable
The AC in the room was not working properly and didn’t produce enough cold air.
A little dated in the elevator or outer building
While the location was oceanfront .. you could not swim in the ocean because of rocks and seaweed. The room was clean and comfortable. The swimming pool was small but refreshing
Way overpriced. Husband said a glorified Motel 6. Unfortunately we had a chain smoker 2 doors down so we could not enjoy our outside ocean view chairs. For such an expensive room, owners need to pay housekeeping a sustainable wage so there is no envelope asking for a tip
Everything was great. Staff was very helpful and the facility was exactly as advertised. Clean, comfortable, well located and on the beach. Really a great place to stay.
The bed was a little soft for me but that is just a personal preference.
Nice beach right on the water. Having a kitchen in our room saved us a lot of money.
No complaints.
Facility was very nice. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Location beautiful. Our first visit to marathon.
The lack of water pressure and hot water in shower and bed was worn out and uncomfortable which made for not a restful sleep.
Great room and bar area and pool and view staff and bar and area very friendly and enjoyable!

Excellent view and great sunrises, friendly staff and great beaches. Definitely recommend as we are looking to return
Our stay at Glunz Ocean Beach Hotel & Resort was a deep disappointment and, in our opinion, did not represent a $700-per-night value. After booking through a third-party agency under the impression this was a 4-star caliber establishment, we found the reality to be well below even a 3-star standard.
Room Quality & Hygiene:
Our initial room was unacceptable. Upon entry, we were met with a heavy, musty odor and a room temperature of 79°F. The floors were visibly filthy; our feet were soiled before we even reached the beds. The shower was stained with peeling, slip-resistant stickers, and the bedding had visible stains. After two hours of the AC failing to cool the room, we requested a refund. Instead, we were given a room change. While the second room’s AC functioned, the bedding suffered from the same cleanliness issues and the space was cramped.
Property Amenities & Maintenance:
Pool Area: We attempted an evening swim, but the experience was poor. Despite being advertised as heated, the water was uncomfortably cold. Furthermore, the poolside seating was completely neglected; every chair was wet and covered in sand.
The Beach: The "private beach" is quite small and sandwiched between two docks. It was heavily covered in seaweed during our stay, making it uninviting. Although a tractor began clearing the seaweed at checkout the following morning, it was too late for us to utilize the space.
Value:
At a premium price point of $700 per night, a guest expects high maintenance, modern facilities, and rigorous cleaning standards. Between the stained bedding, dirty floors, and unkept common areas, this property felt like a budget-tier motel at a luxury resort price. It was a very disappointing way to spend a special occasion, and we cannot recommend this establishment.
Fabulous location, great service, extremely clean and convenient with Havana Jacks restaurant next door. Other great restaurants 5 minutes away. Pool is heated!!! We will be back. Barbara and Rich, new jersey
