Beautiful building which has been very well restored. The bar and restaurant are really nice and the food was fantastic. Very good value for money and the staff were lovely, I would book again.

Everyone was so friendly, professional and polite especially Emma at the reception - helped me beyond my expectations including advising me how to use the Uber Eats App 😁

The staff at this hotel were amazing. They were all so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious with excellent service.
The hotel is tired and dated. While generally clean, it could do with a deep clean. Skirtings very dusty, high points in need of dusting and attention to detail in areas like behind bathroom door & bin lid. Valance on bed was rather grubby. I dropped an item on the floor and when retrieving it noticed the bed base was broken. The standard double rooms varied in size & quality. We had a fairly modestly sized room with a standard double bed with no seating whilst others at the same event had booked standard rooms and had large rooms with king sized beds sofas. The floors in the room were very uneven, almost a trip hazard as were the corridors. There is no lift and it is quite a climb to the 3rd floor with luggage. At the price point paid, i would have expected a better room experience. We had nowhere to sit and relax in the room.

We only had a brief stay but the hotel was large and very good value for money. The room was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The grounds are lovely and location perfect.

We really enjoyed our time at the Balbirnie House. The gardens and grounds were beautiful and peaceful, and it was a great home base for us to stay near Edinburgh. The train was easy to catch from Glenrothes and took less than an hour to arrive in the city (although peak-time prices were extreme!).

We had a family suite and there was plenty of space for our 3 grown boys and us, but we could have used a fan in each bedroom as the days were warm and the windows didn't open wide enough to allow for airflow. Meals at the on-site restaurant were lovely, and the staff was accommodating and professional. Overall a very nice stay!

Lovely stay in a fantastic room with superb views. The hotel is set in lovely parkland. Friendly staff and lovely evening meal in the Orangery.

Our overnight stay was absolutely wonderful! The décor throughout was charming and beautifully suited to the historic character of the building—it felt like stepping back in time, but with every modern comfort. The staff were the true stars—warm, accommodating, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. They made us feel welcome and well taken care of, making the whole experience even more memorable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for comfort with a touch of history!

Excellent location, warm welcome. Very comfortable night’s sleep. Lovely breakfast to set me up for the day. Highlight was the coffee machine in the room. Best cup of coffee I’ve ever made in a hotel room.

ENCHANTING!, lovely setting, several beautiful lounges.

Another great stay at this wonderful and peaceful hotel. Beware of the dog (charge) - it’s expensive at £25 per pet per night. Otherwise one of our very favourite places to come and relax!

Very pleasant surroundings, beautiful building. perfect grounds. I had a single room only which was very nice and bright with strong water pressure. Would stay again. Maybe i misunderstood but adding breakfast would add £ 40....
