Super helpful concierge with tips for getting to our restaurant booking in Gangnam
호수산책로 옆에 있어 쉬고 산책하기에 좋았음. 침구류가 편했음.
가격대비 시설이 노후함
Gorgeous view over the lake. Close walking to restaurants and cafes. Walk around the lake. Classical music when waking up in the morning. Great in-house restaurants and bookshop with coffee and cakes.
Proper coffee machine in the room. I did not want to get a full buffet breakfast and there was no other means to get a proper coffee before 10 am in the entire hotel. It stressed us out quite a lot and waiting for a chance to buy a coffee at 10 in the book store we almost missed our connection to travel to the next location. A small nespresso machine with capsules in the room would have been great.

This hotel was chosen by our Tour group. It was located not close to much. As a solo person in my room was quite large and I had a beautiful balcony overlooking the water. I didn’t interact much with the staff, but know that they will not help bring anything up to your room. The breakfast selection was amazing and even had fresh fish. Overall, a lovely stay for us too bad it was just for one night.

I had a very good stay overall and would happily return. The hotel made a strong first impression with its inviting lobby and warm welcome. Although it is a large property, it still feels polished and comfortable. I also really liked the glass lifts, which already offer beautiful lake views on the way up. My request for a high floor was recognised, which I appreciated very much, and I was given a suite on the top floor. The suite was spacious, clean, and in very good condition, with a nice bathroom and a lovely rain shower. The design was simple rather than striking, but still cosy and of good quality. The balcony view over the lake was absolutely spectacular and was the highlight of the stay. I also appreciated access to the suite lounge, which had a very comfortable café style atmosphere, with coffee, biscuits, and refreshments available throughout the day. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety and enough vegetarian options, and the sauna area was also enjoyable, especially the different hot and cold pools and the steam bath.
The main issue was the temperature in the room, which was far too warm and could not really be regulated. Even on cooler days, it stayed uncomfortably hot, and when the sun was out it became even worse, making it difficult to sleep without opening the windows. The other major downside was that housekeeping did not respect the do not disturb sign. I received a phone call about towels and there was repeated knocking on the door in the morning despite the sign being on, which I found unacceptable.
Lahan Select Gyeongju made a very good first impression. Although it is a large hotel with many rooms, it still manages to feel polished and rather luxurious on arrival. I received a warm welcome at check in, the lobby felt inviting, and even the lifts added something special to the experience, with their glass exterior and lovely views of the lake as you go up to the rooms.
I was especially pleased that my request for a high floor was recognised, and I was given a suite on the top floor. That was very much appreciated. Booking a suite also gave access to the suite lounge, which I really enjoyed and found to be a lovely extra. There were always refreshments available, along with coffee and biscuits, and the lounge itself was very well designed. It had a comfortable, café-like atmosphere that made it an inviting place to sit and relax.
The suite itself was spacious, simple, and in very good condition. The bathroom was also excellent, with a generous rain shower and plenty of space throughout. In terms of design, the room leaned more towards understated than striking. It did not have a particularly atmospheric or memorable look, but it still felt comfortable, well kept, and of good quality. It was not a room that wowed me stylistically, but it was certainly pleasant to stay in.
What did stand out, however, was the balcony view over the lake, which was absolutely spectacular. That was the true highlight of the room and easily the feature that gave the stay its wow factor.
There were, unfortunately, a couple of issues that affected my overall impression. The main one was the temperature in the room. It was consistently far too warm, even on a day with poor weather, and there seemed to be no proper way to regulate it. The air conditioning did not seem to help, and even with everything turned off, the room still felt heated, almost as if there were underfloor heating or some other system running in the background. When the sun came out, it became even more uncomfortable, reaching around 27 degrees or more. At night, I had to open the windows just to sleep comfortably, which felt wasteful and unnecessary. For a hotel of this standard, that really should be better controlled.
The second issue was more serious from a service perspective. Housekeeping did not respect the do not disturb sign, which I find unacceptable. I received a phone call about towels while the sign was on, and then there was knocking at the door more than once, as well as staff speaking through the door, all at around 9 in the morning. That is simply not appropriate. A do not disturb sign should mean exactly that. To be clear, the housekeeping itself was otherwise good: the room was clean, the staff were friendly in the corridors, and I have no complaints at all about cleanliness or general attitude. Still, not respecting such a basic guest request is a genuine service failing.
Breakfast was good and, in fact, better than at the first hotel I stayed at in South Korea. There was a good variety of choices, and I appreciated that there were vegetarian options as well. As a vegetarian, I often find hotel breakfast pricing slightly unfair given how many dishes are not relevant to me, but in this case there was enough choice for it to feel acceptable overall.
I also used the sauna facilities, which were good. Design wise, they were fairly simple rather than special, but the area was spacious and well equipped. I particularly liked that there were three different pools with varying temperatures, including hot and cold options, and the steam bath was also good. The sauna itself could have been hotter for my taste, but that is partly subjective.
Overall, I had a good stay at Lahan Select Gyeongju and would happily return if I were staying in the area again. It is a comfortable, well maintained hotel with a welcoming atmosphere, a spectacular lakeside view, a very pleasant suite lounge, and solid facilities. Had the room temperature been properly manageable and the do not disturb sign been respected, my impression would have been even stronger.
The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. In April it was a little hot since the air-conditioned was not turned on. So we just slept with the slidding door open. It had a screen. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were extremely clean.
This hotel was heavenly, on the lake during a week of cherry blossoms in full bloom.
Great interior and facilities
The wait for breakfast was wild. Every little thing costs you. 2000W to put the bowling alley gutters guards up. A fee is you don’t return all room keys.
