Ideal location
There was a horrendous sewage smell that filled the wholeroom🤢had to keep extractor fan in bathroom on the whole night, and shut the door. Unfortunately it prevailed.Very disappointing.
The view over the Strahan harbour was lovely
There was a terrible smell as we walked into the room. Not sure if it was coming from the air conditioner or the drains in the bathroom.
The bed was so soft you sank into it and provided no support for your back.
When we asked about moving to a room that had a better mattress we were told the mattresses were all the same.
We had booked for 2 nights but left after 1 night and moved in to a very nice, clean motel in Queenstown.
We were encouraged to go to the 3 restaurants in town owns by the hotel owners too and The food at the Kitchen was very average
We enjoyed the location of the property and the ease of getting about in the little town.
The rooms are somewhat dated could do with some upgrades.
If you're in Strahan for Gordon River cruise this is the place to stay.
However, as a hotel it is a little tired and tatty.
We stayed in a Harbour View room which did what it says on the tin, no more no less.
The common areas of the bar, dining room and outdoor decking similarly need a spruce up.
Staff were ok, pleasant enough but - again - no more than that.
The rating should really be a 'Three', but the location gives it the extra step up.
Location was sensational.
I mentioned the previous year that I struggled getting all of my Motorcycle gear up the long ramps. Since then I have had two total knee replacements and I will make sure that I’m on the ground floor. I understand the location may not be as advantageous but the unload and loading up will be beneficial if I’m on a GF unit. We’ve been coming to Strahan every year for 23 years and love its location/atmosphere.
We originally booked the waterfront Village cottage when we checked in the room had a very strong mould smell. The timber in the windows was completely rotten and they could not be opened and we asked to be moved to a better room. Sean in reception was very helpful and patient and organised for us to be relocated to their premium Harbour view rooms with balcony which was a considerable improvement on the previous option and then for the next two nights we went to a harbour view room without a balcony, which again was fine. The complex itself is in a state of this Repair and needs some investment. The gardens are not looked after at all the driveways and parking area is in disrepair and the internal corridors need a facelift. Overall we would not recommend a family and friends to stay.
Beautiful views of the harbour, walking distance to shops and restaurants
Taj the concierge. What a joke! He asked us where we were planning to eat tonight and we said here at 42° restaurant. He went on to explain that we needed to call this number. We get to our room, which was a disappointment for the price. Rang the number and I get Taj. Told me to hold and he will transfer us. So I hold. A minute later her answers the phone again. Told him that he was transferring me to the restaurant. He attempts again, holding for another minute or so and he answers again. At this stage I'm frustrated and he continues to say Oh they must be to busy to answer call. Then asks me again how he could help. Again explained that I would like to make a reservation for the restaurant. He says "When for?" I said for tonight. He says Oh no they are fully booked out. Why couldn't he tell me that when I first enquired about eating there when I checked I!
Location perfect for our Gordon River Cruise and food options
Lovely walking track across the road
Felt room needed a fresh look and definitely change uncomfortable couch
The location was very convenient to the waterfront and village restaurants. Beautiful sunrise.
It was probably too close ! Noisy at times, people walking past , no privacy.
Great location, large room, easy parking. Several types of rooms/locations so be precise what room type/location you want.
Those in the neighbouring room were smoking which drifted over to our balcony and into the room. Had to close the doors quite a few times.
Room - Fabulous
View - couldn't ask for better
Location - how close was everything - sooo close!!
Nothing, it was a wonderful get away.
