La localisation

- Une chambre pour 4 qui était pour 3
Une canapé convertible tout petit et peu confortable. Il était réellement pour 1 personne.

- Lors de l’attente pour accéder au petit déjeuner, notre fils de 14 ans est remonté dans la chambre afin de récupérer un objet oublié.

Il s’est retrouvé bloqué au 16e étage, dans l’impossibilité d’utiliser l’ascenseur pour descendre au 15eme (notre étage). Il a donc pris l’initiative d’emprunter les escaliers, mais s’est alors heurté à un autre problème :
👉 impossible d’accéder à notre étage (15ᵉ), sa carte ne fonctionnant plus.

Il s’est ainsi retrouvé enfermé dans la cage d’escalier, sans possibilité d’accéder à aucun étage.
Il est descendu jusqu’au 7ᵉ étage, essayant sa carte à chaque accès, cherchant une issue pour nous rejoindre, sans succès.
La configuration des étages inférieurs dès le 7eme, différente et peu rassurante, l’a empêché de descendre davantage.

La situation a été particulièrement stressante et angoissante pour lui, ce qui est parfaitement compréhensible.

Après près de 10 minutes à frapper à une porte, quelqu’un a pu l’entendre et lui ouvrir.

De notre côté, nous étions totalement sans nouvelles, sans savoir où il se trouvait.

Lorsque nous avons signalé cet incident à l’accueil, nous avons été surpris par le manque de compréhension et d’excuses sincères.

Une telle situation est, selon nous, inadmissible : il est impensable de pouvoir être bloqué dans une cage d’escalier sans accès à aucun étage.

Gutes Hotel mit schöner Dachterrasse in toller Lage
Pros:

Das Novotel hat für Barcelona ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Es befindet sich in einer tollen Lage - nur drei bis vier U-Bahn-Stationen vom Zentrum entfernt. Gleich gegenüber gibt es eine neue Mall mit vielen Geschäften. Das ganze Viertel scheint neu und verkehrsberuhigt zu sein. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohlgefühlt. Auch im Hotel fanden wir es gut. Das Zimmer war wie erwartet, das Frühstück ging bis 11 Uhr und war gut und als Bonus war der Blick von der Dachterrasse atemberaubend.

Cons:

Das Zimmer war für 4 Personen (2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder) etwas klein, aber das hatten wir so erwartet. Wer zu zweit reist, bekommt ein tolles Zimmer mit bei uns tollem Ausblick auf den nachts beleuchteten Torre nebenan. Schlecht ist, dass das kleine Fitnessstudio im Keller in einem Raum ohne Fenster untergebracht ist. Was für mich persönlich schlecht war: Die Reinigungsfrau nahm meine Sicherheitsausstattung für meine Kontaktlinsen (Abflusssieb und Lens Catch Auffangmatte darüber) aus dem Waschbecken heraus - scheinbar zum Reinigen - und entsorgte das Paket danach (unbeabsichtigt). Es sind Dinge ohne großen Wert, aber für mich sehr notwendig. Es folgten mehrere Beschwerden bei der Rezeption und angebliche Anrufe bei der Reinigung - mit dem Ergebnis: Wenn so etwas im Urlaub wegkommt, ist es auch weg! Dafür war die Rezeption sehr entgegenkommend, als ich einen Raum für ein dienstliches Gespräch suchte. Ich bekam einen Konferenzraum für eine Stunde. Das war toll!

We would stay again based on location but staff need to improve to make it more valuable for money

Food quality was good at breakfast and in roof top bar.
Location suited us very well.

Cons:

Staff training is urgently required. Housekeeping walked into our room twice without knocking. We never had our room cleaned on the 3rd day.
Check in was brutally slow and the staff could not answer simple questions but answered like robots. "welcome to novotel in every sentence"
Check in for breakfast could have been easier and less painful but the sign in person changed daily and struggled to organize groups and available tables.
Lastly the card system for the elevators never worked and frustrated everyone

To the Hotel Management,

I am writing to express my profound disappointment with our stay at your hotel. Despite the high price we paid, our experience was far below the expected standard, and the service we received was disrespectful to my entire family.

First, the room we were assigned was overpriced and offered a view of nothing but a blank wall. When I requested a room change, I was told none were available, yet no follow-up or alternative was offered. This significantly impacted our stay.

Furthermore, dinner was a series of failures. A dish was served incorrectly; due to the language barrier, we didn’t realize it immediately. When the manager acknowledged the mistake, I politely offered to pay for it as a gesture of goodwill. However, instead of apologizing, they simply presented the bill without a word. Moreover, the service was incredibly slow; the kids' meal we ordered never arrived. Only after I inquired did the staff claim it was "never ordered" and made us re-order, which is frankly ridiculous.

In short, I felt that the staff treated Asian guests with a clear lack of attention, if not outright discrimination. This has severely tarnished our impression of Barcelona. As a world-class tourist city, is this how you treat international visitors? I paid a premium for our accommodation, yet I received neither quality service nor basic respect. I am extremely disappointed.

Good location and breakfast, but serious issues with service, key cards, and privacy made the stay disappointing.
Pros:

Good location next to a large shopping mall with restaurants, cafés, and a Carrefour. Breakfast had good variety and quality. Room was clean and the TV casting feature was a nice touch.

Cons:

Check-in took around 40 minutes despite a prepaid booking. City tax was not clearly communicated (hidden in small print). Key cards constantly failed for lifts and room access, requiring daily reactivation. Very concerning privacy issues — staff repeatedly opened the room door without knocking, and on one occasion someone opened and immediately closed the door. Family room was smaller than expected.

Das Schlafsofa war alles andere als kompatibel. Es fühlte sich an als würde es zusammenklappen während des Schlafens. Die Kinder mussten bei uns im Doppelbett schafen.

Sorprendentemente es silencioso y se duerme sin ruido. Las camas y almohadas súper limpias y cómodas. El baño no es que tenga una decoración genial pero el hecho de que tengan Rituals como gel ya es un plus!

Cons:

La atención al cliente por parte de la recepción. Fue bastante lenta, se les veía con cara de cansancio y poco amigables y eran lentos habiendo personal de sobra. Un día malo lo tiene cualquiera pero todo el personal? Para ser un 4 estrellas debería de mejorar su proyección de cara al público
