The look. The interior and the room was decorated very nicely.
The room’s thermostat would not go above 78 degrees and there was a very bad draft coming from the bathroom which made the room feel colder.
Todo! Gran ubicación y personal muy amable
Todo fue perfecto
It was a great food that day .
I don't have any things to say right now .
Short walk to Niagara Falls State Park. Water, coffee, tea provided for guests throughout day. Hot breakfast included.
Rooms are a bit dated.
Staff, room, comfy bed, cleanliness!
The location was great. The breakfast was very good. Parking was ok.
breakfast was the normal free breakfast that most hotels offer, our room was small and not as nice as the photos on line, but it was clean, needs another chair, 1 chair for 2 people
TV had all kinds of problems, needs a second chair in room
Location
The Sky Lounge was unimpressive. One would expect a large space with working bar etc. and it had none of that.
Our stay at The Giacomo was wonderful! The location is perfect, with free parking that made everything so convenient. Staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean, with thoughtful touches like robes after a shower. Breakfast was free and delicious, a great way to start the day. The highlight was watching the fireworks from upstairs—an unforgettable experience! We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.
The building was charming, the old rustic building decor was beautiful.
The old rustic building definitely smelled rustic. Not overwhelming but you can smell the history.
Staff was amazing. Extremely attentive and enjoyed the little touches. Breakfast was fresh. Sweet treat at 5pm really hit the spot
Rooms could use some minor repairs and touch ups
My favorite part about the property was the front desk staff whom I interacted with the most. I loved the plush decor and the location relative to the Falls and to everything else. And I particularly loved the top floor views.
I didn’t like that the first night we stayed there was no bartender, but that was hardly the hotel’s fault. There was a crazy storm and it was the day after Christmas.
The hotel’s facilities are spacious and well-located.
There are three reasons why I regret booking at this hotel:
The staff at the reception was not friendly at all, and engaging in conversation with her felt somewhat discouraging. She gave the impression that I was unwelcome, even though I spoke with her only a couple of times. On my last day, as I was leaving with my luggage, she didn’t acknowledge me at all.
Breakfast was disappointing. I travel frequently and have stayed at numerous hotels over the years. I honestly can't recall ever having a breakfast that was worse than what I experienced at The Giacomo, which offered limited and low-quality options.
There was a misunderstanding regarding the reservations made through booking and the communication with the reception. On the day of my booking, I contacted the hotel to request a room with a view of the falls, highlighting that this was the primary reason for choosing this hotel. I mentioned that I had initially planned to stay elsewhere but decided on The Giacomo specifically for the view. The reservations team responded, "Thank you for your request for a room on a higher floor with a splendid view of the falls. We understand how important this experience is for you, and while we cannot guarantee specific room features, we will do our utmost to accommodate your request, subject to availability upon your arrival." However, upon checking in, I was informed that my reservation was only for the third floor, and there was no possibility of upgrading to a room with a view, although the hotel seemed to have availability for this arrangement. This was not communicated during my booking, and I felt misled by the reservations department, which raised my expectations for a view that I ultimately did not receive. Had I known this in advance, I would have chosen a different hotel.
