Lovely location
Air conditioner not working
It's ok...just ...needs updating. Only stay here when I need to when other hotels are full. Just feels unloved now. Please spend some money updating this place. Or just leave it for golfers.
It's just 'ok'. Food is pretty terrible. It's a golf hotel so maybe the golfers are happy but as a hotel guest it is really starting to fall behind everyone else. Unless you really need to be here I would recommend elsewhere. I am sure when it opened it looked amazing but now the carpets are worn, rooms looking worn...food is awful. did I mention the food? Young staff never seem particularly pleased that there are guests to attend to. Breakfast overpriced and underwhelming.
The air conditioning and pool. Very welcome in the heatwave!
Brasserie food was slow and unimpressive
Excellent facilities, clean
The good for dinner only being the ‘18 bar’ was very disappointing
Great place to stay on the way to Cornwall
Breakfast was good lots of choices, and was nice and hot.
Food in the evening again good choices on menu food was excellent could not fault it.
Room was lovely great view of golf course.
Spa area lovely nice and clean.
Could definitely benefit from a little maintenance of the mouldy silicone around bath /floor and just a little tidy up in bathroom in rooms . Jacuzzi could do with being a bit hotter in the spa. Other than that it’s a great place
Room overlooking 18th fairway.
Nicklaus course in good condition.
No buggies on Nicklaus course, paths only resulting in walking further.
Floorboards creaked everywhere, corridors, rooms, balcony.
Bedside lamp did not work.
Carpets torn and dirty throughout the hotel, corridors, room etc.
Tired and dated room.
No smart TV.
No proper coffee machine, just a kettle and sachets.
Full English buffet was cold despite 7.10am. Eggs, bacon, sausages all watery.
Paid extra £100 for balcony room, only to find you cannot smoke out there.
Rooms far too expensive for what they are, not a 4 star.
Superior room no different to standard room apart from price and useless balcony.
Beautiful location, the room was very spacious with lovely views across the countryside. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the geese. We had everything we needed for an overnight stay, also made use of access to the spa facilities
Pool facilities and food.
Air conditioning in room not good.
Reasonably priced, clean and comfortable beds
Not very nice communal bar area, bland and boring and dated. Breakfast very bland with no personality, could be so much better as the golfing looked incredible so disappointed inside.
The room overlooking the 18th
Nothing
Very friendly staff, excellent spa facilities.
Incredible golf course . Good range of food options at breakfast.
A little tired in places.
Good all round value
Nothing
Great golf facilities; good pool and spa facilities.
Hotel looking very tired in many places - it needs a refresh. - need more staff for dinner service - breakfast options limited.
Sorry for the delay of our review, myself and finance stayed here for one night to celebrate 20 years together and what an amazing time we had, would like to say a huge thank you , as when we arrived and checked into our room we had a lovely card from the staff and petals on the bed , we used the pool and jacuzzi on the day we arrived and on departure, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
Lovely views over the golf course . Great gym facilities.
Breakfast was average and the chef managed to overcook the poached eggs and undercook the porridge.
Location, facilities and staff
No warm water in room
A relaxed stay with no pressure. Very nice surroundings and everyone was friendly, both staff and other guests.
Not a dislike, though at times the bar staff were not keeping on top of replacements such as glasses for water, breakfast items etc.
I really enjoyed the spa area with the pool, sauna and hot tub, the gym was very interactive and fun and I loved the house that we got.
I didn't really like that the parking didn't have enough space for us to park our car especially around after lunch time when everyone is at the pool.
