Comfortable but needs a refresh.
Pros:

It was on the water. It had a nice well maintained pool. It was clean and comfortable

Cons:

It was dated and basic.
When we arrived it was just on 5pm and their office had already closed. We had some trouble contacting the office to check in.
The door to the unit did not shut properly by itself.
No soap holder in the bathrooms.
The dryer was missing the knob so it was hard to make it work.
Mismatched dining room furniture and kitchen crockery
Cheap folding plastic table and dated furniture on the balcony
We didn’t like that they took a $200 security deposit and held our money until 2 days after we checked out.
They should supply at least one extra garbage bag for free when you are staying 5 nights.

If your wanting a great location with budget walk up accommodation this is for you.
Pros:

The location was great. Across the road from the waterways with a great bike / walking track. Plenty of people who were walking animals - dog beach across the road. Plenty of places and people who were fishing. There was a hotel about 1km away that had restaurants, ice cream parlour etc which was a nice walk. The bedrooms were a great size and plenty of room in the dining, lounge and kitchen. It was clean

Cons:

The photos did in no way depict the apartment. I chose a standard apartment to which i received 3-5 emails about and then a day before our stay i started to recieve an email about budget accommodation. There was a leak in the main bathroom from the laundry sink which pooled around the drain right in from of the toilet. When you went to the toilet the smells came up from the drain in both the main bathroom and ensuite. The 2 lounge suites had old lounge cheets draped over them that looked like fitted flannelette bed sheets. The view from our apartment was of palm trees with glimpses of the pool.

Nice easy relaxing
Pros:

Good location, pool is lovely, easy to access, staff helpful when things were not right in the room.

Cons:

The bed was so uncomfortable and same with pillows. Needed an extra bin bag for the time we stayed so we could have emptied bin twice.

The apartment I had could do with a little facelift, paint and a few repairs.
Cons:

Our apartment backed on to a main road so was continually noisy from very early morning.

Pros:

The pool area was lovely and suitable for a family. Several playgrounds for children dotted along the beach front towards surfers - all in walking distance. Cafe, restaurants and pelican feeding only a short walk away.

Cons:

Past reviews mentioned how old the units looked so was prepared for that but the coffee table, couches and queen bed mattresses are in need of replacing. Maybe a change of towels halfway through the stay would be nice, same towels all week and used for showering and pool.

Too many Stairs
Pros:

Loved the pool area.

Cons:

The stairs. In our 70s with 4 yr old been put on 3rd floor was hard work. Reading beforehand it said 3 bedroom apartments ob 3rd floor. Untrue.p

Home away from home.
Pros:

The service was excellent and efficient. It felt like a home away from home. Thank you for our stay at Blue Water Apartments on the Gold Coast. We will be returning in the near future.
