Strahan is such a beautify town - the boat tour and train ride are a must do.
Pros:

The location was excellent, walking distance to shops and main centre. The food and service at the restaurant was excellent, all fresh and local produced, but quite costly. We had breakfast there but found meals were way out of our reach. Matthew and Emma were such beautiful people and took extra care of us during our stay.

Cons:

You had to be very mindful to keep the volume done because rooms were not sound proof and the lay out of the room wasn't the best, to watch tv from the bed, was uncomfortable because the bed was on the side.

Very disappointing, both restaurant and bed.
Pros:

The house was fine, a bit pokey but the rooms were good. The dinner at Charlotte's was a five course fixed price dinner. The table service was fine as was the discussion with our waiter. However, only 4 courses were served leaving us with the feeling of missing out on something. Breakfast was very basic although nicely presented. The croissant was burnt. We wern't able to check in until 2pm which was the advertised time but they were very adamant that it had to be 2pm. Very French. The bed was not comfortable, it was so soft that I had a aching back the next morning.

Cons:

Staff were pleasant. Room was generally okay.

A bit disappointing
Pros:

The building is beautiful and the lounge areas are very comfortable.

Cons:

The only dining option at Franklin Manor was a set five course menu. There wasn't much on the menu that was of interest to us. The last time we stayed here the menu was 'a la carte' and we really enjoyed it. We were looking forward to dining there but unfortunately it wasn't to be. The rooms are quite small.

Pros:

Staff were excellent very friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed.

Cons:

A very old property that needs renovation. No power in the bathroom. Poor lighting so very difficult to see. Difficult to get luggage up and down the stairs. No bin in the bathroom.

Handy two night stay
Pros:

A beautiful Victorian home, based in a wonderful setting. Accommodation situated handy to Strahan with a handy 10 minute water front walk to the town. Lovely Victorian style room with a lovely comfortable king bed. Lovely Tasmania breakfast with great personal service. Great friendly staff. We had a two night stay to work in with the day cruise & train trip, which was handy to both. Recommend a stay here.

Hervorragendes Restaurant - es gibt nichts Vergleichbares in der Umgebung!

A nice historic building which is very comfortable.
Pros:

Very helpful staff (Emma).
Good clean historic accomodation with a restaurant included for fine French dining. Not far from the main strip in Strahan. Offstreet parking close to entry.

Cons:

A little noise from adjacent rooms- thin walls but still bearable.

For a boutique hotel it was over priced, under staffed and left us underwhelmed & disappointed.
Pros:

Lovely old manor with nice character.

Cons:

Poor shower that ran hot & cold. Shower door jammed - so hard to open and close. TV didn’t receive local channels. No air conditioning in room, just heating. Room was hot and one window wouldn’t stay open. Had to jam it open with suitcase. Only 1 staff on site who was great but overrun. Upstairs room with narrow staircase made getting bags upstairs difficult. The restaurant only opened Tuesday to Saturday. We were there Sunday to Monday. We would not return or recommend.

Pros:

I liked the period furniture and loved the chess board and pewter pieces.
The chesterfields were great too.

Cons:

The room was too noisy, too close to reception, bed way too soft!! The taps water hammered,no air-conditioning, was a bit stuffy, had to open window to get fresh air.
