Lovely stay. Staff wonderful.
This is a very characterful property and the staff were generally polite and helpful.
This was our most expensive hotel on our week’s tour of Tasmania. Sadly it did not fulfil our expectations.
Room - No lift and no air conditioning. We returned at about 2pm one afternoon and our room had not been serviced. The member of staff said he had been too busy!
Food - The restaurant offered sophisticated French cuisine but quality was not good. The food was luke warm on arrival, the beef was so rare it was inedible and my wife chipped a tooth on the rock hard toast.
This hotel lacks a manager supervising the staff to ensure it delivers a premium service to justify the high charges. Had we had dinner and breakfast both days, it would have cost almost A$1200 for a two night stay. It has to be really special to justify that cost which it is not.
Beautiful property and historic house. Dinner was amazing.
Ambience
Young lady serving in restaurant was outstanding.
We were a newer rooms built and fitted cheaply. Restaurant was a bit disappointing, good service but not good value or pairing of wines.
Good location in Strahan and excellent value for money. The restaurant is probably the best in Strahan although the competition is not great in the city. I would enjoy if the restaurant offered a daily meal and not only a 3- or 5-course meal. When traveling for weeks and eating all meals at restaurants simpler dishes like a cassoulet is greatly appreciated (-:
Location was good
Old rooms too hot and attitude of staff very ordinary
This stunning property is surrounded by grounds with an air of old world elegance. Gorgeous furnishings inside supported this aesthetic and for a moment, we felt transported back in time to a place where customer service was prioritised.
The mattress was a bit disappointing.
historischer Charme, sehr guter level Frühstücksqualität
Beautiful heritage home.
Walls between rooms not sound proof. Could hear person snoring in the room next to us! And could hear all footsteps from people in the room above us.
The staff here are awesome! French hospitality at its very best. The property and gardens are beautifully presented.
The property was gorgeous. It would be good to have laundry facilities available to guests. Laundromat services in Strahan are extremely limited and in high demand.
Beautiful old English manor house style property. The quality and old world style of the furnishings, the staff are fantastic, the proper dining room and sitting rooms, snooker/pool room and chess boards and board games.
Only had one night…
Lovely room and beautiful restaurant
Na
The room was clean
I didn’t like the location no views out of our bedroom window the rooms were small bed only no chairs or table to sit at no real privacy as your sharing the lounge room and sitting room with other guests. It wasn’t the sort of accommodation I would normally stay in. We were booked in for 3 nights. Changed our booking stayed 1 night which was fine however the other 2 nights went to Strahan village had to still get charged for the other 2 nights even though we didn’t stay there it was a bit disappointing to not receive a refund as the manor didn’t meet our expectations
Quaint, clean and very comfortable
