Beautiful views, comfortable but needs renovation and modernased.

Beautiful island, big and comfortable room. Amazing views.

Cons:

The hotel clearly had its charm in the past, but it would benefit from renovation.

The bar/pub area felt tired, with broken chairs and cleanliness issues. The décor was very old-fashioned and lacked charm, giving a “cheap and cheerful” feel.

Eleanor a God send!!!
Pros:

I recently travelled to Hamilton Island for a once in a life time trip with my family. We had booked what we thought was a really nice villa on the Marina side of the island and, to our grave disappointment, we checked in on Sunday afternoon and the hygiene of the apartment was very poor.

Having driven to every other hotel on the island, the only person that could help me and my parents was Eleanor (Ellie) at the front desk of the Reef concierge. She really saved the biscuit, going out of her way to help us in any way she could including sorting us with a fabulous room and meeting to our every needs.

Eleanor needs much praise and very much contributed to the brand and customer service of Reef View Hotel. We will be back!

Goregous Location - Medium Staff and Services
Pros:

Hamilton Island is a magical place. Its hard to go wrong there. Our rooms were lovely and overlooked the beach and pools. We had nice balconies that were frequented by the Cockatoos. You have to take the elevator, which at times, was annoying (long lines, packed). They have several pools, beach access, and various dining options. They have a large buffet breakfast, again long lines but moved quickly. I think the food was mediocre at best. All fairly plain - at all their places. Service as minimal everywhere too, with many odd rules. I'd only recommend drinking beer or wine as everything else was bad. I think I had the worst Bloody Mary and margarita ever.

We did love the island and the buses were helpful. We also rented a golf cart and for us that was a must have. Highly recommend doing that. We loved seeing all the creatures, especially the low tides and the Wallabies. If you want a chair at the pool go early.

While we had a lovely visit, it just didn't seem like a luxury place.

Poor sanitation, but beautiful scenery.

The view here offers a glimpse of half of the oceanfront.

Cons:

Upon checking in, we discovered something extremely unpleasant in the bathroom. On the toilet door, there was a visible stain consisting of green and black residue with a hair stuck in it. This was not a minor oversight — it appeared as though the area had not been cleaned at all prior to our arrival.

This raised serious concerns for us about the hygiene standards of the room and whether the bathroom had been properly cleaned before we checked in.

My wife and I had an unbelievable experience. We just felt so relaxed an enjoyed our whole stay of 4 nights.

The furniture in the room was very old and it definitely needs an upgrade for the money we paid. The balcony was also dirty.

Fantastic with a special mention to a wonderful buffet breakfast

Buffet breakfast was absolutely FANTASTIC Need to refresh main course restaurant menu.Rooms were better than expected, cleaners are doing a great job, need a little bit of painting in bathrooms, loved free beach activities, disappointed when I couldn’t get the free kids meal with an adults meal in the restaurant when I asked for take away

Cons:

Would’ve loved to be on a higher floor but understand when room occupancy is high, bar fridge freezer needed to be defrosted (the freezer door didn’t close properly)

Excellent hotel with great staff. Food amazing and facilities great. Hotel close to lovely pools and beach.

Housekeeping very minimal but clean towels every day

Cons:

Top up of coffee and tea in room very sparse. Housekeeping changed beach towel every day and made beds but room was not swept so sand in room an balcony all week. Could provide a brush and dustpan abs broom for rooms.
