Small room. Not the most friendly staff. Okay for the price.
very unsafe
The photos on the website are completely misleading. The actual room was tiny, filthy, and incredibly noisy. The air conditioning was so loud it was unbearable, and I had to turn it off just to get some peace. Even with it off, I couldn’t sleep — I was kept up by people yelling and banging rubbish bins at 2AM.
I was suddenly and aggressively told to vacate my room at 7AM while I was still in bed! A guy was literally outside my door, calling me to leave immediately, claiming I had no valid booking. This is simply false.Being kicked out like that was completely unacceptable and unprofessional.
very nice
Staff was kind. The place seems renovated. The location is good. However, I did not have hot water in the shower.
Sheikh and his team is the best 🙏
Room was small and not kept well
Location was good for walking, sights, shopping and staff were friendly enough. BUT...pictures provided of the hotel are not the reality. It is an old building. Housekeeping was done only once during our 8 day stay and we had to ask for that. We had to request face cloths and hand towels as they were not provided, just bath towels (staff did not seem to understand what is normally provided).
The rooms looked nothing like the pictures. We had to share a bathroom with the whole floor and when I booked the room the pictures I saw had its own shower and a much bigger room. When we walked into our room (my brother and I) the room was tiny, A little sink, a bed and that’s it. (And a tv that never worked) I seen people leave reviews about the homeless and the druggies and stuff, But the area for me I didn’t see much of it. Other than the room being tiny and not what I was expecting, The staff were nice. (However I don’t see myself staying here again because of how small the rooms were it seemed like false advertising) and the area was a little noisy.
clean room nice staff close to downtown
Clean, great value and good location
Pricey
Very acceptable accommodation given the price and location! Within walking distance to Old Montreal and the Notre Dame Basilica. The room was very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Bathroom had a large soaker tub. Don’t be fooled by the exterior of the hotel. It’s very kitschy but has an old time vibe to it. Will definitely stay there again when I’m in Montreal!
The aspect of shared bathrooms should be front and center not hidden in text. Staff should also assume that not everyone coming in knows the building. A little curtesy help would make life better.
Not suitable for someone with luggage because there is no one to help with luggage. The elevator stops at some floor and if you happen to be above those floors, you have to carry the luggage up some narrow stair case. And the staff does not tell you this.
This place looks nothing at all like the photos shown. The staff was friendly, but was overall very disappointed with the overall cleanliness and vibe compared to what was shown online-- never trust the photos online I guess
Thanks.
Great value for the money. If you are a city person, the street-type people in the area won't bother you, if you are suburban or foreign, don't worry, they are harmless and won't bother you (not even to ask for money).
I had a good stay in Montreal and enjoyed the accommodation. My room was small but perfect for my needs. The portable air conditioner did not have an exhaust hose so when I turned it on while I went to dinner I returned to a room that was about 90 degrees! The window was closed because of some Yellowjacket visits but the room cooled down eventually when I could open the window after dark. There was a concert right next door so I thought it would be a tough night for sleeping but I never heard a sound.
The staffs are nice , walkable place. I don’t know if they change the bedding , there’s a stain on the sheets.
I would highly recommend this property. The room was clean with AC and TV, amicable staff and had comfortable stay.
