Holiday Inn Milwaukee Riverfront by IHG

I stay here every time I go to the Milwaukee area. It's a nice, safe location near a big outdoor mall with lots of restaurants and fun things to do. The hotel itself is nice. Comfortable and clean. The staff is fantastic,

Need more staff. The person at the desk was overwhelmed. Tiny bathroom was very uncomfortable trying to get into the shower

Outside door continually propped open, seemed a little sketchy with who was hanging around outside, however everyone was respectful and friendly

It was something crawling on the wall , the sheets had stains , the room smell like dirty carpet, I normally go by the airport, way more cleaner and good housekeeping, sorry!

This hotel desperately needs a complete redo, but my shower had leaky plumbing so I couldn’t bath.

double beds should not be an option anymore

Check in person not friendly. Spoke so fast I had to have her repeat. I had paid for breakfast and she did not give me voucher at checkin. I did get from front desk in morning.
Bed sheets did not smell clean.
Waiter at breakfast didn’t hardly talk. Terrible customer service.

It didn’t feel as safe as I would’ve preferred. The hallways had sharp corners to get to elevator and to ice machine. There was a security guard in the foyer sitting at a desk when we returned from the Brewers game around 11 pm. Could smell marijuana being smoked to the right of the hotel entranceway,

This stay didn’t represent your brand nearly as much as in the past. You had a maintenance ticket open from previous guests. Maintenance knocked on the door at an odd and unexpectedly time. That was nerve wrecking to begin with as we didn’t call for maintenances.
Then we chose your location due to pool and breakfast and breakfast was the most disappointing thing ever. One person trying to handle everyone. No assistance from other team members because “we are all in our spots and people called out.” (Yeah I asked why no one here chatting it up didn’t assist the poor lady). Then a regular dining experience of ordering and being served. One item of pancakes isn’t a breakfast. You would have done better with a small buffet styled setup where 1-2 people could have handled it. Very misleading. Wouldn’t have stayed there if I had known. Security incident with another occupant. In trying to assist, no one has access to security cameras. Not even the police. Could have eliminated and issue well ahead of time. Overall, a very crappy stay.

I did not like that the continental breakfast was an extra charge of 16$ per person. We opted out because it was very basic powdered eggs and breakfast “meat”
We then had an extra 85$ and 135$ hold placed on our card with no explanation- we had been in town to school shop- and holding our money really dampened the budget.
It took 10 days to release the hold.
This was all in addition to the normal 50$ hold that was cleared the day after our visit.
If it wasn’t for that it would have been perfect

Liked the area.Lobby was nice. I Arrived early and gave my name and number to the lady at the front desk who said she would call me for early check in. Never received a call. When I did check in later in the day it went smoothly. Staff was very kind and professional. However, the hallway to the room smelled bad.The room itself had a horrible odor. The toilet seat was disgusting and was not cleaned properly. Luckily we were out the entire time and didnt spend much time at the hotel. I would not stay there again. Cleaning staff needs to do a better job.
