We dined in Charlie’s and the food was average for the money spent, the had the beef not the quality expected for the money we paid. We bought a bottle of champagne at over hundred pounds for the waitress to pour the first glass then be told to “pour the rest yourself” unprofessional from a 5 star resorts. Other than that staff were great and breakfast was good.

We had an unannounced "turn down" service let themselves into our room at 9pm on a Sunday night. Not ideal, a bit late and no forewarning or apology. Spa was nice if a little busy. Very slow service at dinner which was not particularly busy, was so slow we didn't stick around to get desserts which was a shame because the food was good. The breakfast was good and varied and the chef at the breakfast bar was friendly and helpful making eggs how you like it, omelettes and pancakes to order. A beautiful property, stunning room but a little underwhelming with the unusual turn down service situation and inattentive waiting staff for dinner.

Pros:

The Jacuzzi was out of order in the spa and there was no steam room which would have enhanced my relaxation. There are 2 saunas which were nice, the outdoor pool exceptional. The Hot Stone massage was extremely relaxing and worth the money. Overall the Spa was excellent with very friendly staff that could not do enough to help.

Wonderful welcome from all staff, our dog Emma received many cuddles.

Room was eloquently decorated in keeping with house.

Spa was luxurious, lots of in door and outdoor amenities. It was busy when we arrived (4:00pm) but beds became free not long afterwards. Staff in the spa always on hand to offer fresh towels and maintain cleanliness.

An impressive looking property especially at night. The Concierge staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a good feel with lifts to both floors if required. The rooms are well appointed, modern and everything works well. The double shower was perfect. The spa is something else. It starts as you walk down the corridor giving you a feeling of calm with the music and smells. The staff are great, helpful and no silly rules. Once you enter the spa you experience the lovely layout and all the comfortable beds and loungers, almost spoilt for choice. The out door pool is one of the best i have experienced with two saunas a plunge pool and jacuzzi to compliment it all.
Breakfast in the dinning room is very good. An excellent spread of fresh fruit, breads, cold counter and a good quality hot food. There is a chief who will make you anything to do with eggs. There are items they charge extra for which i couldn't understand. Ive never had to pay £7 for a bowl of porridge. Avocado on toast was more. They should look at scrapping them charges.
We stayed at the hotel for a week but only dined in the restaurant (Charlies) on the first night. The portion sizes are simply to small. We came away still hungry. The prices even for a hotel make your eyes water. £19 for the smallest portion of cheese and biscuits i have ever had is not right. The quality and temperature of your coffee is dependent on who makes it.

I stáyed at the Schloss Roxburghe with my boyfriend as a surprise for his 40th birthday. What can i say? For beginners, from the moment you drive through the gates and jead towards the Schloss, your breath is taken away, set in beautiful surroundings, the Schloss Roxburghe looks like something from a story book!
Check in was fast and easy and we were shown around so we knew whete everthing was.
I booked thr kimg suite and.it.was beautiful, very spacious and comfortable and my partner.was.surprised witha lovely hand written card and a birthday message.with cake waiting in our room for him.
The spa is something dreams are made of, we made use of it on the day or arrival and the morning after at 7am, the weather was beautiful so a swim in their infinity pool was the perfect way to begin our day. Breakfast was bountiful, with such a large choice. They literally have everything you could possibly want. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing.
From start to finish, our trip was one to remember and we cant wait to return. Thank you Schloss Roxburghe for an amazing stay.

The indoor area of the Spa was very relaxing.
The outdoor pool was heated and so peaceful as was the sauna and plunge pool.
Exellent stay.
