Nothing really.
The place did not feel welcoming and no real customer service offered.
The only nice thing was the location, as the hotel is very close tot he beach with nice sea views if you paid for the special rooms.
The place is extremely tired and on top of this the management decided to clean the carpets before our arrival which meant that the carpets were extremely wet and we wouldn't even walk on the floor with our socks on as they would just soak up the dampness! All bags had to be kept off the floor which meant we weren't able to sit anywhere or use the coffee table. When we brought this to the receptionist she didn't really care and only offered to put towels all over the floor, but told us to keep our items off the floor!
No gesture of goodwill was offered for the inconvenience and we had to sleep in a really smelly bedroom with very strong smell of detergent.
Awful 2 nights!
Good location. Staff nice.
We stay here every time we visit France either on entering France on the late ferry or departing on the early ferry. Absolutely amazing establishment. The hotel is family run and they cannot do enough for you. If you can stay for breakfast do! The best continental breakfast we have ever had. Rooms are basic but very clean and the beds and pillows are amazing. We always gave the best nights sleep here. Private parking (for a small fee) is a bonus although on the street parking is right outside the hotel and free. We love staying here and will do Every time we use the ferry.
Nothing… but worth noting, There is no lift. So if stairs are an issue ask for a room on the 1st floor. 2nd floor isn’t for the faint hearted if you are carrying bags and suitcases. We just take an overnight bag.
No tea and coffee in the room but we have never found this to be a problem especially if you have booked breakfast but I think they offer a take away coffee? We just get one on the ferry.
Breakfast was very good with wide selection of locally- sourced produce. We had a dual aspect room, affording lovely view over beach. Bed very comfortable and nice to have armchairs and table for relaxing. Hotel superbly situated for access to Ouistreham, for walking along beach and for exploring further afield. Shower room was small but fitted our needs. Room (and hotel as a whole) was clean to a high standard and pleasant to spend time in. Lovely garden and architectural character. Would revisit and have already recommended it to a friend.
No tea-making facilities in room - would have expected this for price
Authentic character of building, the rooms and breakfast room. Good views from window. Charming garden area.
Not being able to get me a taxi to ferry port after 7am ie 7.15/7.30 as the cabbies refused as want to pick up a fare when get to port. That is not very customer focussed. Luckily my friend and also a guest gave me a lift in their car although they were not leaving until the following day.
