Beautiful setting , everything we needed
Nothing
view is beautiful. location is great, like the bread juice milk and thanks for the complimentary wine. event room is well designed
Beautiful location, wonderful to see kangaroos grazing so close by at dusk and early in the morning.
Herring Gorge Cottages are tucked back behind a rather high end golf club and you might think twice, as we did, that your sat nav has taken you to the wrong place.
Once on site the signage is not good for the reception. This was not made any easier with Bookings.con not sending out details until our actual day. Check your emails before arriving.
We had cottage 12 and we’re far enough from the others to have a great overview for ‘Hoppie’ watching at dusk; kangaroos are literally everywhere then.
The location is great for getting to a few of the attractions and one we would recommend is Healesville, we spent 5 hours here!
Overall a good stay and we would return.
Poor signage and the fact the golf club restaurant does not do evening meals. We cooked our own in the cottage as a drive out was a bit of a run.
The cottage was very nice. Location was quiet. Complementary juice and milk.
Front gate did not work. Staff were absent for checkout, waited long periods of time.
Peaceful setting at the back of a golf course surrounded by native bush. Cottage very comfortable with full kitchen facilities plus BBQ and a huge bathroom with bath and shower. It was a delight watching the kangaroos and birds each morning and evening. It felt very quiet and private but an easy drive to shops and vineyards.
Nothing
The location, views, serenity, cottage and staff were all amazing. We loved being greeted by the wildlife every morning.
We came up to celebrate our daughters wedding. The wedding was only a few minutes away, which was convenient. We appreciated the late night entry back into the property and felt safe and secure with the locked gates.
An amazing stay and we wished we could of enjoyed it a bit longer.
Front main gate code wasn't correct for late check in
Location is great, just a bit far out of the way, will need a car to get anywhere
Not many options for dinner in the area
Very comfortable bed, peaceful surroundings. Very stylish and modern cabin.
Only option for breakfast was muesli or toast. Hoping for a bit more variety with the breakfast cereal in particular for this price point.
Cottage was clean, spacious, comfy bed with a full kitchen and kangaroos outside cottage
Nothing
We thought breakfast would be daily. There were sachets of cereal all exactly the same and not enough for 5 x 4 mornings. There were only a few teabags and ground coffee (very nice) in an air tight tin but not sealed. There was a small bottle of milk in the fridge, not enough for 5, including a young child, alongside yoghurts etc and a larger one would have been better to start us off. We appreciate we could go to reception but thought there should be enough in the cottage with more selection. Also, reception is closed on Sundays.
There was not a single coat hanger in the 3 en-suite bedrooms which was a disappointment. We thought a blind on the entry door would be good.
