Sterling Lake Palace Alleppey

We are from London on a family trip and had visited Kochi and Munnar so we were at the end of our trip to Kerala where we wanted to relax and enjoy the weather for a few days.

We were glad we chose this resort as we really did relax, and have a lovely break so for us, it is probably the best resort in Alleppey!

The resort is located in Beautiful lush green surroundings, very peaceful and serene that is very pretty. The staff all work hard to look after it from the ground staff and cleaners, to room service and management.

Adarsh, Saidul, Matthew made us feel special, spoke good English and understood our requirements, feedback and gave great customer service.

It was our 25th anniversary and they gave us balloons and decorated the room, as well as a freshly made cake which we all really enjoyed and appreciated.

The food is excellent!! We didn’t go anywhere else as it was so comfortable, everyday there was plenty of choices.

Dipankar, Manoj, Saidul and the Chefs are excellent and passionate about their restaurant, they gave us great service throughout. Aditi and Marcy are also doing very well.

The activity room is excellent, with good options for all ages, especially the Table tennis / pool table.

The room service staff including Akshay and Shalini are thorough and very friendly too.

Overall we had an amazing stay because the location, food, staff were very good so it was one of our best family holidays abroad.

Worst stay yet

The property is very well maintained . The food provided was also very good.

Was an above average place. Room tv did not work. Front desk made a billing mistake, the taxi arranged by hotel was botched up. He had the wrong location.

The pond in the middle of the property is quite dirty at places. Location of the hotel is right by the bavkwaters.

Nice location. Complimentary boat ride. Lot of activities to do inside the resort. Very clean room and views

The property actually wasn't that bad but the staff made the experience poor. We didn't get the room that we booked and they accommodated with a roll away bed. Which was fine. Just not ideal. And then they charged an additional fee for this.

We were also tired after a long trip and late booking. So when they kept having blackouts and our room key would reset and not work and the late night dinner wasn't available and then was, it was just a few too many little annoyances. I'm trying not to be too harsh because it wasn't bad. Just our experience was bad.

Good stay with lots of activities to indulge the guests and make their stay more comfortable

Stayed here for a night during our Kerala trip. The property is very well maintained and all rooms had a backwater view. The check in was smooth. There were a lot of complimentary and paid activities. We did the sunset cruise and did a paid shikara ride for 2 hours. The bf buffet was good. Wi-Fi worked fine. The stay was value for money. Wish we could stay longer. Next time maybe

Great scenic locstion

This is a 5 star property only due to location.
The service was very poor and disappointing.
1. In the dinner buffet, the food was spilled on floor and no one came to clean it even after saying 2-3 times.
2. We were not served rotis/breads even after waiting for 20-25 minutes and all the vegetables is our plate became cold till then.
3. We got water and cutlery after asking thrice for it, which should be kept in advance ideally.
4. In the room service, we got the wrong drinks 3 times.
5. In the breakfast buffet, there were very few options to eat and the cutlery problem was the same. We had only 2 spoons amoung 4 members and noone gave as they busy with other stuff.
6. We asked for interconnected rooms 10 days before check-in and the staff confirmed it too. But, noone gave it at the moment and the reception guys denied that the info. wasn't passed to them.
7. The wifi signal was very poor and we were dependent on mobile data throughout our stay.
Due to long weekend, the property was sold out and they were not able to manage even the basic things. There was hustle and bustle everywhere within the staff and they didn't have a second to listen to you. It was a terrible experience and we won't recommend it.
COMPLETE MONEY WASTAGE.

Good stay - for morning walking wonderful space - overall food quality is ok - toilet flush system has to be changed

Damp rooms, broken air conditioner, mediocre buffet breakfast.
We thought of leaving after being shown to our room but decided against it because this was our last stop.
Only good thing to say was the complimentary boat ride and the service.
Was told that all other rooms were booked by a travel group.
The air conditioner in our room was broken and kept leaking water on the floor and making loud noises. Had to wake up every few hours in the night to turn off. Almost no Wi-Fi connectivity either. 2 star property at best. Totally not worth the money.

Awesome location

Beautiful setting and well maintained grounds.
Service was slow.

Facilities a bit run down. Ground floor rooms smell of damp. Confusion over boat trip. Nice location.

I really liked the location but other important things like staff courtesy, response to inquiries, room cleanliness and sharing information regarding sight seeing seemed to be absent. There was mosquito infestation as soon as it got dark so this was a hinderance if people needed to go outside their rooms in the evening.

A luxury Backwater resort with lots of activities.

Great getaway spot. Very relaxing. I feel like the food can be better. It wasn’t anything extraordinary. But everything else was on point.
