Review for Swaroop Vilas
Absolutely disgusting, vulgar, and criminal staff. My friend had a traumatic experience when the staff was found peeping into the bathroom of her room. The exhaust fans had a small viewing window with access only to the staff area. This is where my friend saw a disgusting staff member standing and peeping through while she was having a bath. I cannot fathom the kind of people running this hotel, because when my friend, who was already distraught, went to complain, the entire staff including management and owners banded together to try and hide it. They lied to us and even told us we were imagining things. The owners, who included a lady, also tried to brush it away. No cameras in the areas worked, while everyone tried to hide the truth. We have absolutely lost faith. There was no apology,regret or remorse from the hotel management
DISGUSTING AND CRIMINAL HOTEL

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Day 1 we had no hot water as their system was broken. We were offered a bucket of hot water to shower! Fixed by halfway through day 2.
Hotel had live music every night until 11.00pm as did near by hotels so quite noisy. Water system repairs were above our room on the roof which went on until the early hours of the morning. No refund was offered for lack of services on day 1.
The included breakfast was Indian Cuisine only and did not cater for non- Indian clients. There was a 24/7 snack bar where you could pay for a non Indian breakfast if required.
Staff, particularly at Reception and the Rooftop restaurant seemed unhelpful and quite surly.
The room was comfortable and spacious and had a small terrace where we had 24/7 snack bar breakfast delivered to our room. The view was lovely over Lake Pichola.
The lack of hot water was definitely a “ downer” on the whole experience. Hotel position was good.
Overall an “ Average” stay but good value for money compared to other hotels.
Right from check in , not a very good experience, not very welcoming, went to pot garden for a drink before going to the room, tables with uncleared tables , and staff on there phones , eventually got a waitress for a drink ordered and had to wait and my drink came first and had to go and ask for my wife’s drink and snack which was ordered at same time , went to room , on first look it was a pleasant room , closer inspection shower curtain had mould on it , balcony with a lovely view across lake , but close inspection pigeon dropping on the railings and floor of the balcony , next day breakfast , went to the breakfast room to find all curtains closed and once again tables with uncleared plates ,staff friendly but very young , me and the wife aren’t food snobs and will go with the flow, food was lovely but very basic for a five star hotel , anyway room had been cleaned but still pigeon dropping out on the balcony and whoever swept or clean room left a pile of dust near the balcony door , but water and towels replaced , to the good points the bed was lovely and comfortable and the restaurant upstairs sangria was the saving grace of stay , wow clean and fantastic staff and the views and food are outstanding , this isn’t a five star and it’s a shame and the photos are so out of date because the hotel doesn’t look like the photos maybe a few ago ,

We travelled for a family trip to Udaipur around the year end. The hotel itself is very beautiful with nice rooms and spacious interiors, but the nearby swaroop sagar lake is very dirty and not really the main tourist attraction. The quality of food in the inhouse restaurant is ok, although the options are limited. The best part of the hotel is Sangria bar and restaurant at the rooftop with daily DJ nights. However, while doing the booking through hotel staff, we were told that there would be a gala dinner on 31st night and which is compulsory. At that time, we did'nt know about the two different places. Only after reaching there, we came to know that the Sangria is already pre-booked and we cant go there. The so called GALA dinner had nothing gala about it, there was obviously no music and the food served was terrible. If we had been given a choice, we could have gone someplace else. We could'nt slee the whole night bcoz of the loud music and noise going on till early morning

It was a good experience with good surroundings. Swimming pool was large, breakfast was tasty and it had spa and gym as well. 😄😄

We are a group of 14 people (7 couples) staying at Hotel Swaroop Vilas to celebrate New Year, and unfortunately, this has turned into a very disappointing experience.
At the time of booking, there was absolutely no mention that in-room dining or in-room services would not be available during New Year. This is a basic expectation, especially when one is booking a premium property for a special occasion. Only after check-in were we informed that these services would not be provided.
What made the situation worse is that even after repeatedly requesting to speak with the concerned manager, we were not allowed to connect with them. There was no effort to resolve the issue or offer an alternative solution. The staff simply refused, which felt extremely unprofessional and disrespectful.
When guests travel in a large group and plan a celebration, transparency is the bare minimum expected. Hiding such critical information at the time of booking is misleading and unacceptable.
I would strongly advise future guests to reconfirm all services in writing before booking, especially during festive dates.

Room size are so compact,not maintained,loud music is played on roof top ,which is so disturbing ,till 11.45 the music was on,food in breakfast was not at all great

Disappointing as there were no welcome drinks or any gestures of hospitality. The staff displayed rude behavior and treated us as a mere formality rather than guests. Outside our room was extremely dirty, falling far below acceptable standards, which added to the overall unpleasant experience. The entire stay felt uncaring and unprofessional.
