The Lince Azores

Enjoyed our stay. Though the mandatory swim caps (four euros each) to sit in the hot tub was disappointing.

The hotel was unimpressive. It was very basic for the price point. The hotel smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, the AC in our room didn’t work and the tub didn’t drain. Unlikely to stay here again. It was fine for one night near the airport but for a hotel trying to be upscale it was disappointing.

Loved the room, restaurant, pool, and amenities. Will definitely look to stay again if we come back!

Nice hotel in great location, great breakfast too.

The Lince is in an excellent location, close to the sea, town centre, shops and pineapple plantantion! Despite being on a busy road, the room was very quiet with no significant outside noise.
The hotel restauant and bar had a good selection of foods and drinks. The breakfast was particularly good. The hotel indoor pool was warm, open many hours and clean.
The room itself was well equipped with a fridge, safe, reliable wi-fi etc.
If you are looking for a good hotel, in a convenient location at a realistic price, then I would highly recommend this one after viewing its full details and guest comments etc.

Friendly stuff, comfortable room

We arrived late, but early for us with the time zone change. After check in we had a drink at the lively bar, Saturday night and the crowd was fun. We were not able to use all of the hotel amenities offered. Breakfast buffet was substantial, fueling us for our first day on Sao Miguel. We walked to the Pineapple Plantation which is nearby. Would gladly stay again.

Hotel was nice and staff were friendly. Breakfast buffet had a variety of food to accommodate kids.

Wonderful all around except no coffee pot in room.

The pool was a great as well as the breakfast buffet. Location is good enough.

The hotel itself is really pretty. Its about a 12-15 minute walk to the popular city centre with all the shops and restaurants. Parking was free and we didn't have any issues finding a spot. The breakfast buffet was really nice and lots of delicious food including local cheeses and Mimosas. Overall a great stay here.

The Lince is a very nice hotel. The staff was very helpful in letting us store our luggage since our flight came in early in the morning before 3:00 check-in. We were told we'd be called when our room was ready, but we never were. Ultimately, we came back to the hotel at 2:00 and the room was ready. It would have been nice to have received a call so we could have checked in sooner. Otherwise, the breakfast buffet was nice, the room was clean, the hotel had good amenities for our short {1 night} stay.

We found the staff friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean. Our room was quiet.

They should offer a bundle laundry service. Charging 1 Euro per pair of underwear and $5 for shirt is a money grab. A bundle option should be given like hotels in Spain.

Great place, but not close to stores.

The room was nice and comfortable and my rating would be higher if we didn’t witness the kitchen REUSING DIRTY PLATES to serve the next customer, repeatedly.
We became ill with GI symptoms immediately after our stay and while we can’t say it’s due to the unsanitary measures, we do suspect it is.

Our stay at the Lince Azores was amazing! When we first got there, we had a few questions and things we were not familiar with in the staff helped us with everything they treated us so professionally and we’re so caring about our trip and making sure we were comfortable it felt like they really genuinely cared and that is very rare. The food there is amazing. The breakfasts are enjoyable, there is some thing for everyone and the staff is very caring and hospitable. The only thing that would be a negative is having to wait to get coffee from a machine. It was good coffee, however, waiting for it, and not knowing how to use it you might be in line for a little bit find someone who didn’t know how to use it. We were there for one dinner also and that was very very good. It was a Buffet and it was delicious. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely go back while visiting Sao Miguel. It is a beautiful hotel. The staff is very accommodating and they really want to make sure you have a good time. I wasn’t able to use the spa or the pool but we visited all and they looked lovely. The hotel was located centrally to everything as we had rented a car and for us it was a very convenient location. If I had to write this hotel out of five stars, I would rate it a five.

The staff was extremely accommodating and attentive. Parking is on site in an underground secure garage. Street parking may be available also, but we opted to park in the garage.
We had a room on the top floor which was very spacious and comfortable. The room was neat and the layout was perfect for our needs. We kept the window open, and there was no noticeable city noise that would have bothered us.
The location is a bit further to the waterfront compared to other hotel options, but still easily walkable. Easy to drive around and get to the highway with minimal traffic.
Hotel has many great amenities. We took advantage of the daily breakfast which had plenty of quality options. Always great to be able to start your day without having to plan where to eat first.
I would definitely choose to stay here again if I return to Sao Miguel.

It's a nice we'll maintained clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. Our room was very comfortable and we would definitely stay there again!
