quiet, temperature controlled room, comfortable bed and room, clean and were able to swap for a fully wheelchair accessible room though this was complicated by having booked thorugh booking.com where I had ticked for not only aircon but also accessibility; first call to hotel after booking to customer services was unable to see if accessible room booked; only when called reception directly was it ascertained it was not, but then receptionist was quick and happy to kindly switch to one.
staff generally really friendly and welcoming and helpful
from a hotel of this quality and size it was disappointing to find very few up front listed options for eating gluten free on the premises. On the menu of the restaurant that was open during our stay (which we would have liked to have accessed by paper or app too, as my daughter's severe photophobia from electronic screens meant we couldn't look at it on the big TV in room) . There was one salad, vegan cottage pie (customer not vegan only high gluten intolerance so would not normally have chosen that) and fries or sweet potato fries you could have off the menu if gluten free, or some sandwich options on gf bread, which we didn't fancy for our evening meal.
it is possible some options on menu could have been altered/adjusted to be gf but this was not offered /volunteered by staff in the restaurant when at the bar I discussed ordering from the menu (to collect and take to room) though I mentioned having to find a gf option (cottage pie) and I then didn't feel like asking.
On arrival I asked if we could park in the disabled spaces as my daughter (with me) is a wheelchair (only p.t able to walk 1-2 steps) but we have (as yet) no blue badge. this was apparently only possible with a blue badge without risking a fine. there didn't seem to be any scope for the hotel to issue a label, note or similar to override this; there were several unused disbled spaces near the entrance. I therefore had to traipse two rounds of luggage then my daughter in wheelchair to the car, which was parked further away (on the hot day that it was arriving and leaving) and transfer her into the car in the narrow parking space we had.
Lovely hotel.
A little queue checking in. Just one person, but it was ok
My boyfriend and I stayed at the DoubleTree for 2 nights whilst attending a music festival at the stadium. We loved the proximity of the hotel to the stadium itself and all of the shops, restaurants and bars etc. The room we had was also very spacious and the bed was so comfortable!
We skipped on the breakfast options due to the cost, which we thought was a little much per person for each morning.
Staff were friendly, it was very clean, great food
Nothing i didnt like
Extremely comfortable bed!
Ease of access to all day gig in the stadium and enabled us to come and go between artists.
Fantastic breakfast with great stadium views.
On arrival we found the car park immediately In front of the hotel was full, so I jumped out of the car and asked the chap in charge on the door where we could park.
He basically said we'd struggle to find anywhere close at that time of day (12:30pm) considering there was a music event on and said we'd have to try somewhere on the nearby retail park.
He failed to direct us to car park W2, which is the large overflow car park for the hotel and is literally just across the road from the hotel!!!
We found this out from a very kind parking attendant at the rear of the stadium after 30 minutes of driving around and getting stuck in retail traffic etc.
This caused unnecessary stress and anger.
Modern, well connected and close to
numerous shops and restaurants.
Didn’t appear to clean the room every day- okay they do say they change the bed linen every 3 days unless you ask for it.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, kind, polite, and professional. They were always welcoming and happy to help, making my stay even more enjoyable. The room was spacious, clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The bed was large and comfortable, with fresh, clean bedding. The lifts were always available, and the restaurant was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel. I would definitely stay here again and give it 10 out of 10.
