Comfy beds, great value and friendly staff
No air con in bedrooms
Rooms are not bad, good shower
The spa really needs an upgrade, very tired and not clean. Also closed earlier than we were told it would.
Comfortable bed
Needs a good clean up on the outside and spa. Food was sub standard. Pizza not cooked properly and salad swimming in oil. There was a wedding so a lot of people lurking in the carpark
The staff were great. Really lovely team working in the hotel. Reception, catering, bar staff, spa and even the cleaners were really kind and genuinely great people.
I would have liked 2 packets of biscuits in the room instead of one. Everything else felt like a really high level of service and on pack of biscuits between 2 people felt odd in comparison. Vents could also do with a deep clean. Really great hotel, so comfortable.
Location is nice. Pool is ok. But the overall hotel is so dated
It’s dated, bland, like it’s stuck in the 90s
The spa was amazing
The bed was really uncomfortable could feel the springs poking my back, the air con was really poor and it was very hot weather on the night.
Location and price
To single beds make no sense. Should have at least one double
So what can I say: first the most important, the room (22). It’s massive and clean! Has a seating area, separate area with desk for work, and spacious en-suite, with a comfy bed. Thumbs up for room!!
So check in: no one else waiting, immediate “hello just give me a moment “ more than five mins later still there while receptionist types away at computer ignoring me 🤷♂️
Bar: nice and friendly, ok choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Whatever happened to proper beer in hotel?
Food: the only option was Hathaways pub - menu was limited but I ordered fish n chips, large glass of vino and a pint (£31 in total). Shortly after ordering I received a call from hotel. I answered: no pleasentry just “can you please come to reception now to pay for your drinks and dinner”, me: “I paid for drink in bar, and I’m currently sat in restaurant awaiting my food and drinks”: reception “well you need to pay”, me “I will when I’ve had my food and drinks”: reception “well what table you sat”: me “next to fire door”… phone switches off 🤷♂️ when drinks arrive, I explain to waitress who is clearly embarrassed and apologise, but I don’t think it was her job to apologise?!?! No further acknowledgment. As for fish n chips: think Birds Eye frozen fish…..yep you got it. Cooked ok in fairness.
Breakfast: again ok, average buffet no complaints.
So how do I feel about hotel? Discombobulated is best description.
Really good choices for breakfast
Nothing to say as a great hotel.
It is beautiful, clean, welcoming and exactly what it looks like in photos. The whole experience was amazing and me and my partner had a spa treatment and that was 10/10. We will be coming back again.
The property was very clean, a very pleasant place to stay
I had no problems at the property
I arranged for 30 family and friends to stay at Lea Marston in order to attend my daughter’s wedding which was taking place in the local area . Steph Lawrence , the reservation coordinator was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble . Every email I sent was quickly answered and when I met her in person she was so friendly and professional. She personally ensured that the pre wedding gift bags were left in all the guests rooms prior to their arrival. All the guests really enjoyed their stay . Would definitely use this hotel again .
Friendly reception staff and breakfast staff.
Booked two rooms together, we got two different floors.
The room was on the ground floor, so convenient and easy to get to the breakfast venue for me with my mobility issues. Disabled parking was near to the entrance. My allocated room had a shower as requested. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The chair in my room needed reupholstering, the leatherette seat was peeling.
We had a group from Ireland of 90+ people stay last week. The service and hotel itself were impeccable. They had all our room keys ready on arrival which meant we had everyone checked in within a few minutes. The staff were extremely helpful, the food was excellent and the rooms were spotless. I could not recommend this hotel more highly. We will be back
