Great place. Historic and such charm. Wonderful location but best of all
The staff are exceptional. They go above and beyond. Loved this place
I spent three nights at this excellent hotel and was very pleased with the location, service, and quality of breakfast. The price was very reasonable for this standard of hotel. The location is great for visiting all the historic sites in the city. The numerous staff are, without exception, extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The room was clean and quiet. The food at breakfast was abundant and high quality. I would gladly stay here again.
This property was so charming. I felt like I went back in time and was staying at a well off friend's home. There were beautiful courtyards with babbling fountains and gardens. Rooms with fancy upholstered headboards and lovey prints of Cordoba long ago. Everything was in pristine condition. Location was perfect. Walking distance to cathedral, Roman bridge, restaurants and plenty of shopping. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for these attributes in a hotel.
This four star hotel is nearly a five star hotel (in the European sense). Lots of high quality materials, attention to detail, good service from an invested staff, and a strong sense of place. We are hard pressed to think of anything to complain about. We stayed in a junior suite that we quite enjoyed. The location couldn’t be better for immediate access to the Juderia, mosque, alcazar, bridge, etc. It’s all right there. We came by train so cannot comment on the automobile logistics. We did not dine at the hotel, and the breakfast room is in the cellar and not very appealing, but why not just walk out the door of the hotel and take advantage of all the immediate options in the old town?
This really is a fabulous, quirky boutique hotel , in the Jewish quarter of Cordoba within a few minutes’ walk of the Mosque , absolutely ideal for exploring the old city on foot. We had a car and panicked a bit when we were driving down very narrow streets that we thought had to be restricted, however on arrival at the door we were warmly welcomed and our car was whisked away for parking by the valet.
We had a fabulous room looking out onto the Plaza Campo where the pony and traps wait for their passengers and looking over the roof of the old Moorish baths. The room was beautifully finished, a high ceiling , good bathroom - great shower
The Hotel is a series of old Palaces connected by rambling corridors and nooks and crannies, the public areas are fabulous and resemble the internal courtyards you find in the Riads of Morocco. I have seen other reviews complaining about the bed or what ever, ours was super comfy and we slept soundly. However the essence of a stay here is your immersion into a history that goes back to the 14th Century, let that history surround and envelop you, appreciate where you are and the privilege of the experience.
In conclusion one might think that the place could be stuffy given its historical past. But no it has that real boutique vibe, staff are warm friendly, knowledgeable on their surroundings and extremely attentive without being overbearing. One night only here but we intend to return as soon as the opportunity presents .
Las Casas de la Juderia Cordoba is an excellent hotel with an unbelievable location. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was also large and well appointed. Breakfast was superior. My only issue was with the guided tour we booked through the hotel. It was expensive and not really worth the cost in my opinion. I would suggest booking the Mezquita on your own and using a good guide book like Rick Steves to walk you through the highlights of the area. Use that extra money to have a great meal instead. But the hotel itself is a winner.
The bed was too firm and pillows too soft. We noticed beds in Spain trend on the firmer side, but this was next level and the pillows were so soft, they provided no support. Both my husband and I woke up stiff and sore. So glad we only booked one night. The rest of the hotel experience was fine, but if you can’t get a good night’s sleep in a hotel, then it’s failed at its primary purpose.
What an amazing place to stay! The room was excellent and spotless, the staff were so helpful, and the valet parking was a real bonus.
We didn't sample the food as the position of the hotel, right in the Jewish quarter, meant there were plenty of breakfast options around. But the honesty bar was a nice touch and we drank a glass of red wine in one of the many beautiful courtyards.
Downside: in early October the swimming pool was icy!
If you want to stay in Cordaba this hotel is a must.
Beautiful hotel, perfectly located. The room was a bit dark but the bed was really confortable and the bathroom was very large with both a shower and a bath tub. Great service overall.
Good location
Lovely and unique boutique hotel.
This hotel is a jewel. A series of five restored, once-aristocratic homes, the hotel has beautfifully appointed rooms with luxe linens, comfortable beds, modern bathrooms and beautiful art work on the walls. In the process of renovation, Roman ruins were discovered and have been preserved underneath what is now a cozy reading room. The hotel also has a pool. There is no restaurant but the hotel serves a sumptuous buffer breakfast and offers honor-roll wine in one of its gardens in the evenings. The staff is friendly, welcoming and accommodating. I highly recommend Casas de la Juderia.
Nice property and grounds. The staff was generally very kind, polite and helpful. We really liked our room. Only downside was the small bathroom with an empty shower gel/shampoo container and no washcloths. We did very politely inform the front desk when we checked out, but they just stared at us like they did not know what to say or do.
Beautiful historic property in a lovely area. We especially enjoyed the pool area, the honesty bar and the jet bath in our room. The hotel was well located for the main sites and some pleasant shops. Our room was clean, neat and comfortable.
The only disadvantage was the parking-we hadn’t realised that the hotel was along such a narrow, busy street or that we could park immediately outside and a hotel employee would park the car for us. We would have preferred to park in the multi-storey in the parallel road and walk back.
That outside, we loved the hotel, its history and ambience, and would have enjoyed staying longer.
.
The property is very cute and well maintained. The room had everything needed, comfortable bed, large bathroom with a bidet, the shower was very good. There is a kettle for tea and coffee in the room. The premises are beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. The location is excellent, there is no need for a car. There are plenty of shops and bars/restaurants around.
Outstanding location and beautiful historical buildings
Stunning compound built on Roman architectural remains from the 1st century which later became stately homes belonging to noble families in Cordoba. The grounds are themselves worth exploring especially at night.
This review is for the private terrace room (very large) overlooking the courtyard and pool. Very private yet spacious with two loungers, table and large umbrella.
- Room was beautiful with high cathedral ceilings, beams and tiling.
- Comfortable king bed. Very little noise.
- Pool area was nice.
- Ample closet space; TV placed high into the rafters which was odd but no matter, you're not there to watch TV.
- Shutter-style windows that open into courtyard overlooking red tile roofing and pool.
- Bathroom was double-vanity and a bit small, and shower was just too small - enough to turn around and I'm not a large person.
- Staff was friendly and courteous.
- Honor bar in one of the courtyards in the evening was perfect.
- Breakfast was ordinary: standard fare of eggs, bacon, fruit and bread you see at every hotel.
Beautiful hotel, great facilities, helpful staff, perfect location
