Canadian visitors were given an absolutely beautiful upgraded room and a packed breakfast as they had to be on the road very early in the morning. Most satifactory.
Nothing. Recent changes impressive.
The Bedford Hotel is an icon of Tavistock and has such history attached to it. The location is brilliant, right in the centre of this lovely market town on Dartmoor. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. And the restaurant is superb, and I must recognise the chefs who delivered a really excellent dinner and breakfast during our stay. I would make a special trip for the food. I stayed with my brother during a nostalgic visit for us to the places where our parents grew up, and there are long family connections with both Tavistock and the Bedford Hotel. All in all a wonderful stay in a special property.
Food was excellent
Decor is dated
Dinner was good, and bar well stocked with good cocktail menu
Generous tea and coffee tray in room with a bath
Breakfast was a bit sparse on the sel-serve section, and you could only order one hot choice (our choice had run out)
Electric charger was difficult to use
Great location and central for night the Wharf forTribute band.
Nothing to dislike.
Staff good, food worth paying
Bedroom small and bed very uncomfortable, over priced for what we had
Beautiful property. Good rooms. Excellent breakfast. Great location.
Location
Very small room
Despite reception being at the top of a flight of stairs and our room being up a further flight of stairs there was no lift availability, only in use for disabled people.
We were offered help with luggage from reception level
Very convenient for town
En-suite very tired
Food good , service good ,room perfect
We had problems with EV charger. Staff not briefed on helping customers
We were charged for the carpark in spite of the fact we used the bar for drinks and snacks and the restaurant for evening meal . Had we not been staying at the hotel, use of the carpark would have been at no cost.
Loved the room which had a jacuzzi bath. The staff were helpful and professional. Wonderful breakfast with local sausages and bacon.
Had to pay for parking because we did not book directly with the hotel.
Breakfast was good, although I’d have liked a bit more.
Didn’t appreciate being woken up at 5:45 ish by a very noisy dust cart on Tuesday morning.
Loved the traditional nature of the old building
Very disappointed that parking was extra at £8 overnight. Available free to those that booked direct but not to us because we booked through booking.com
