I was very disappointed when I arrived and was told about about the hidden costs, namely £20 charge to park the hotels car park. If I had known, I would have stayed somewhere els.
Bedford guests beware!
Lovely, cosy and peaceful atmosphere. Very comfortable beds and pillows, and excellent, friendly staff. We were kindly given our room two hours before check-in, which was much appreciated.
The breakfast was excellent and delicious. The only problem was that my son wanted even more! 😊 Which probably says everything about how good it was.
We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
The staff were exceptional, couldn't have been better.

Having to pay for parking when diners/drinkers/bookers with hotel direct don't. Booking.com should make it clearer. The sauteed potatoes at breakfast were 'new potatoes' rather than chopped fried potatoes which are more usual!

Location was perfect as central as could be! Bonus that the car park available for 24 hours for £8. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful.

Location is great, has parking
Breakfast was small, no lift,
All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent (dinner and breakfast). The hotel has character - it's a lovely old building in the centre of the town, so brilliantly placed. Good on site car parking. The room, though technically a single, was a good size, the bed was probably a double size anyway, and everything was clean. One particular but small thing - there was a decaf tea bag in the room tea and coffee pack, which I thought was very thoughtful.
The only thing was the unreliable WiFi - I resorted to hotspotting off my phone. I get that this is difficult in a large old building, but it's a bit of a pity as I was working on my laptop in my room. When it did work, eg in the public areas of the hotel, it was perfectly fine. This is the only reason I've given this an 8, otherwise it would be an easy 9 or 10 out of 10.

It’s a little tired in places and the bath needed a good clean particularly around the area your head encounters the scum rim!

We always stay at the Bedford Hotel when visiting family in the area so good location. The staff are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. A wide variety of food is available and in our opinion always cooked to perfection. The whole hotel is good value for money and the cleanliness excellent.
