Pros:

As a solo traveller I had a single room but it did have a double bed which was very comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe space. Spacious ensuite shower room.
I had breakfast on both days. Good choice at the buffet and on the hot breakfast menu cooked to order. The evening menu also had a very good choice and varied slightly each evening. The staff were professional, friendly and the service was excellent.

Cons:

Due to the extreme heat it was disappointing that the windows were unable to be opened but a fan was supplied. The furniture and fittings were rather dated but the shower room was very modern with an excellent shower.

Pros:

Goede locatie, en een sfeervol oud engels hotel.

Cons:

Geen lift, en we hadden een kamer op de tweede verdieping. De douche had maar een klein straaltje.

Pros:

Our room was good, staff were friendly, breakfast was good

Cons:

Full length mirror on wardrobe door would be better on the left hand door as it doesn’t stay open properly to check yourself. No shower cap in the bathroom or a grab rail to get out of bath or shower.
No visible management around, there was a wedding on and between the lull there was paper mess all up the front steps and reception area, which didn’t look good and could easily have been tidied up.

Pros:

Historical hotel. Really liked all of the photos through the years of local people and royal visitors.

Cons:

It was a lovely old hotel and historical. There was nothing we didn't like.

Great location, helpful staff, comfortable room.
Pros:

Great service, good choice of breakfast, well cooked and well presented.

Cons:

Bar service was slow. Couldn't get a decaf latte at 9pm because the barman had cleaned the coffee machine!

Pros:

Lady Manager lovely but late night bar person didn't feel welcoming and topped a Courvoisier to the top of a slim jim. Needs to be trained more

Comfortable and delightful stay.
Pros:

The room was spotless with everything we needed. Plenty of cupboard space, a dressing table and comfortable chairs. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and set up in a smart dining room. We stayed here some years ago and the hotel was still smart and inviting. And car parking, perfect.

Cons:

I should have remembered that there are a lot of stairs and no lift. That’s understandable considering how old the building is.
